Isaiah 10
1 Woe vnto them that decree wicked decrees, and write grieuous things,
Wehe denen, die Satzungen des Unheils verordnen, und den Schreibern, welche Mühsal ausfertigen,
2 To keepe backe ye poore from iudgement, and to take away the iudgement of the poore of my people, that widowes may be their pray, and that they may spoyle the fatherlesse.
um die Armen vom Gericht zu verdrängen und die Elenden meines Volkes ihres Rechtes zu berauben, damit die Witwen ihre Beute werden und sie die Waisen plündern.
3 What will ye doe nowe in the day of visitation, and of destruction, which shall come from farre? to whom will ye flee for helpe? and where will ye leaue your glorie?
Und was wollt ihr tun am Tage der Heimsuchung und beim Sturme, der [O. Verderben, das] von fern daherkommt? Zu wem wollt ihr fliehen um Hülfe, und wohin eure Herrlichkeit in Sicherheit bringen? [Eig. hinterlegen]
4 Without me euery one shall fall among them that are bound, and they shall fall downe among the slayne: yet for all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
Nichts anderes bleibt übrig, als unter Gefesselten sich zu krümmen; und unter Erschlagenen fallen sie hin. -Bei dem allen wendet sich sein Zorn nicht ab, und noch ist seine Hand ausgestreckt.
5 O Asshur, the rodde of my wrath: and the staffe in their hands is mine indignation.
He! [O. Wehe!] Assyrer, [Eig. Assyrien [Assur], wie V. 24] Rute meines Zornes! und der Stock in seiner Hand ist mein Grimm.
6 I will sende him to a dissembling nation, and I will giue him a charge against the people of my wrath to take the spoyle and to take the pray, and to treade them vnder feete like the mire in the streete.
Wider eine ruchlose Nation werde ich ihn senden und gegen das Volk meines Grimmes ihn entbieten, um Raub zu rauben und Beute zu erbeuten, und es der Zertretung hinzugeben gleich Straßenkot.
7 But he thinketh not so, neither doeth his heart esteeme it so: but he imagineth to destroy and to cut off not a fewe nations.
Er aber meint es nicht also, und sein Herz denkt nicht also; sondern zu vertilgen hat er im Sinne und auszurotten nicht wenige Nationen.
8 For he sayeth, Are not my princes altogether Kings?
Denn er spricht: Sind nicht meine Fürsten [O. Feldherren] allesamt Könige?
9 Is not Calno as Carchemish? Is not Hamath like Arpad? Is not Samaria as Damascus?
Ist nicht Kalno [Dasselbe wie Kalne; 1. Mose 10,10] wie Karchemis? nicht Hamath wie Arpad? nicht Samaria wie Damaskus?
10 Like as mine hand hath founde the kingdomes of the idoles, seeing their idoles were aboue Ierusalem, and aboue Samaria:
So wie meine Hand die Königreiche der Götzen erreicht hat, -und ihre geschnitzten Bilder waren mehr [d. h. mächtiger] als die von Jerusalem und von Samaria-
11 Shall not I, as I haue done to Samaria, and to the idoles thereof, so doe to Ierusalem and to the idoles thereof?
werde ich nicht, wie ich Samaria und seinen Götzen getan habe, ebenso Jerusalem und seinen Götzen [Eig. Götzenbildern] tun?
12 But when the Lord hath accomplished all his worke vpon mount Zion and Ierusalem, I will visite the fruite of the proude heart of the King of Asshur, and his glorious and proud lookes,
Und es wird geschehen, wenn der Herr sein ganzes Werk an dem Berge Zion und an Jerusalem vollbracht hat, so werde ich heimsuchen die Frucht der Überhebung des Herzens des Königs von Assyrien und den Stolz der Hoffart seiner Augen.
13 Because he said, By ye power of mine owne hand haue I done it, and by my wisdome, because I am wise: therefore I haue remooued the borders of the people, and haue spoyled their treasures, and haue pulled downe the inhabitants like a valiant man.
Denn er hat gesagt: Durch die Kraft meiner Hand und durch meine Weisheit habe ich es getan, denn ich bin verständig; und ich verrückte die Grenzen der Völker und plünderte ihre Schätze und stieß, als ein Gewaltiger, Thronende hinab;
14 And mine hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people, and as one gathereth egges that are left, so haue I gathered all the earth: and there was none to mooue the wing or to open the mouth, or to whisper.
und meine Hand hat den Reichtum der Völker erreicht wie ein Nest, und wie man verlassene Eier zusammenrafft, so habe ich die ganze Erde zusammengerafft: da war keiner, der den Flügel regte, oder den Schnabel aufsperrte und zirpte. -
15 Shall the axe boast it selfe against him that heweth therewith? or shall the sawe exalt it selfe against him that moueth it? as if the rod shoulde lift vp it selfe against him that taketh it vp, or the staffe should exalt it selfe, as it were no wood.
Darf die Axt sich rühmen wider den, der damit haut? oder die Säge sich brüsten wider den, der sie zieht? als schwänge ein Stock die, welche ihn emporheben, als höbe ein Stab den empor, der kein Holz ist!
16 Therefore shall the Lord God of hostes send amog his fat men, leannes, and vnder his glorie he shall kindle a burning, like the burning of fire.
Darum wird der Herr, Jehova der Heerscharen, Magerkeit [d. h. Abzehrung] senden unter seine Fetten; und unter [d. h. unterhalb] seiner Herrlichkeit wird ein Brand auflodern wie ein Feuerbrand.
17 And the light of Israel shalbe as a fire, and the Holy one thereof as a flame, and it shall burne, and deuoure his thornes and his briers in one day:
Und das Licht Israels wird zum Feuer werden, und sein Heiliger zur Flamme, die seine Dornen und seine Disteln in Brand setzen und verzehren wird an einem Tage.
18 And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitfull fieldes both soule and flesh: and he shalbe as ye fainting of a standard bearer.
Und er wird die Herrlichkeit seines Waldes und seines Fruchtgefildes von der Seele bis zum Fleische vernichten, daß es sein wird, wie wenn ein Kranker hinsiecht.
19 And the rest of the trees of his forest shalbe fewe, that a childe may tell them.
Und der Rest der Bäume seines Waldes wird zu zählen sein: ein Knabe könnte sie aufschreiben.
20 And at that day shall the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Iaakob, stay no more vpon him that smote them, but shall stay vpon ye Lord, ye Holy one of Israel in trueth.
Und es wird geschehen an jenem Tage, da wird der Überrest Israels und das Entronnene des Hauses Jakob sich nicht mehr stützen auf den, der es schlägt; sondern es wird sich stützen auf Jehova, den Heiligen Israels, in Wahrheit.
21 The remnant shall returne, euen the remnant of Iaakob vnto the mightie God.
Der Überrest wird umkehren, [S. Kap. 7,3] der Überrest Jakobs zu dem starken Gott. [El]
22 For though thy people, O Israel, be as the sand of the sea, yet shall the remnant of them returne. The consumption decreed shall ouerflow with righteousnesse.
Denn wenn auch dein Volk, Israel, wie der Sand des Meeres wäre, nur ein Überrest davon wird umkehren. Vertilgung ist festbeschlossen, sie bringt einherflutend Gerechtigkeit. [Eig. welche Gerechtigkeit einherflutet]
23 For the Lord God of hostes shall make the consumption, euen determined, in the middes of all the land.
Denn der Herr, Jehova der Heerscharen, vollführt Vernichtung und Festbeschlossenes inmitten der ganzen Erde. [O. des ganzen Landes]
24 Therefore thus saith ye Lord God of hostes, O my people, that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of Asshur: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift vp his staffe against thee after the maner of Egypt:
Darum spricht der Herr, Jehova der Heerscharen, also: Fürchte dich nicht, mein Volk, das in Zion wohnt, vor Assur, wenn er dich mit dem Stocke schlagen und seinen Stab wider dich erheben wird nach der Weise Ägyptens!
25 But yet a very litle time, and the wrath shall be consumed, and mine anger in their destruction.
Denn noch um ein gar Kleines, so wird der Grimm zu Ende sein und mein Zorn sich wenden zu ihrer Vernichtung.
26 And ye Lord of hostes shall raise vp a scourge for him, according to the plague of Midian in the rocke Oreb: and as his staffe was vpon the Sea, so he will lift it vp after the maner of Egypt.
Und Jehova der Heerscharen wird über ihn die Geißel schwingen wie in der Niederlage Midians am Felsen Oreb; [S. Richter 7,25] und sein Stab wird über das Meer sein, und er wird ihn erheben, wie er ihn über Ägypten erhob. [Eig. in der Weise Ägyptens]
27 And at that day shall his burden be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy necke: and the yoke shalbe destroied because of the anoynting.
Und es wird geschehen an jenem Tage, daß seine Last weichen wird von deiner Schulter und sein Joch von deinem Halse; und das Joch wird gesprengt werden infolge des Fettes. [And. üb.: der Salbung]
28 He is come to Aiath: he is passed into Migron: at Michmash shall he lay vp his armour.
Er kommt gegen Aijath, zieht durch Migron; in Mikmas legt er sein Gepäck ab.
29 They haue gone ouer the foorde: they lodged in the lodging at Geba: Ramah is afraide: Gibeah of Saul is fled away.
Sie ziehen über den Paß, [Oder die Furt] zu Geba schlagen sie ihr Nachtlager auf. [O. über den Paß; -"Geba sei unser Nachtquartier!"] Rama bebt, Gibea Sauls flieht.
30 Lift vp thy voyce, O daughter Gallim, cause Laish to heare, O poore Anathoth.
Schreie laut, Tochter Gallims! Horche auf, Lais! [Hebr. Laischa] Armes Anathoth!
31 Madmenah is remoued: the inhabitants of Gebim haue gathered themselues together.
Madmena eilt davon, die Bewohner von Gebim flüchten. [O. retten ihre Habe]
32 Yet there is a time that he will stay at Nob: he shall lift vp his hand towarde the mount of the daughter Zion, the hill of Ierusalem.
Noch heute macht er halt in Nob; -er schwingt seine Hand gegen den Berg der Tochter Zion, den Hügel Jerusalems. -
33 Beholde, the Lord God of hostes shall cut off the bough with feare, and they of high stature shalbe cut off, and the hie shalbe humbled.
Siehe, der Herr, Jehova der Heerscharen, haut mit Schreckensgewalt die Äste herunter; und die von hohem Wuchse werden gefällt, und die Emporragenden werden erniedrigt.
34 And he shall cut away the thicke places of the forest with yron, and Lebanon shall haue a mightie fall.
Und er schlägt die Dickichte des Waldes nieder mit dem Eisen, und der Libanon fällt durch einen Mächtigen. [Zugl.: Herrlichen]
