Hosea 7
1 When I woulde haue healed Israel, then the iniquitie of Ephraim was discouered, and the wickednesse of Samaria: for they haue dealt falsly: and the theefe commeth in, and the robber spoyleth without.
Wenn ich Israel heilen will, so findet sich erst die Sünde Ephraims und die Bosheit Samaria, wie sie Abgötterei treiben. Denn wiewohl sie unter sich selbst mit Dieben und auswendig mit Räubern geplagt sind,
2 And they consider not in their hearts, that I remember all their wickednes: now their owne inuentions haue beset them about: they are in my sight.
dennoch wollen sie nicht merken, daß ich alle ihre Bosheit merke. Ich sehe aber ihr Wesen wohl, das sie allenthalben treiben.
3 They make the King glad with their wickednesse, and the princes with their lies.
Sie vertrösten den König durch ihre Bosheit und die Fürsten durch ihre Lügen
4 They are all adulterers, and as a very ouen heated by ye baker, which ceaseth from raysing vp, and from kneading ye dough vntill it be leauened.
und sind allesamt Ehebrecher, gleichwie ein Backofen, den der Bäcker heizet, wenn er hat ausgeknetet, und läßt den Teig durchsäuern und aufgehen.
5 This is the day of our King: the princes haue made him sicke with flagons of wine: he stretcheth out his hand to scorners.
Heute ist unsers Königs Fest (sprechen sie), da fahen die Fürsten an vom Wein toll zu werden; so zeucht er die Spötter zu sich.
6 For they haue made ready their heart like an ouen whiles they lie in waite: their baker sleepeth all the night: in the morning it burneth as a flame of fire.
Denn ihr Herz ist in heißer Andacht wie ein Backofen, wenn sie opfern und die Leute betrügen; aber ihr Bäcker schläft die ganze Nacht, und des Morgens brennet er lichterlohe.
7 They are all hote as an ouen, and haue deuoured their iudges: all their Kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth vnto me.
Noch sind sie so heißer Andacht wie ein Backofen. Obgleich ihre Richter aufgefressen werden und alle ihre Könige fallen, noch ist keiner unter ihnen, der mich anrufe.
8 Ephraim hath mixt himselfe among the people. Ephraim is as a cake on the hearth not turned.
Ephraim menget sich unter die Völker; Ephraim ist wie ein Kuchen, den niemand umwendet,
9 Strangers haue deuoured his strength, and he knoweth it not: yea, gray heares are here and there vpon him, yet he knoweth not.
sondern Fremde fressen seine Kraft, noch will er's nicht merken. Er hat auch graue Haare gekriegt; noch will er's nicht merken.
10 And the pride of Israel testifieth to his face, and they doe not returne to the Lord their God, nor seeke him for all this.
Und die Hoffart Israels wird vor ihren Augen gedemütiget; noch bekehren sie sich nicht zum HERRN, ihrem Gott, fragen auch nicht nach ihm in diesem allem.
11 Ephraim also is like a doue deceiued, without heart: they call to Egypt: they go to Asshur.
Denn Ephraim ist wie eine verlockte Taube, die nichts merken will. Jetzt rufen sie Ägypten an, dann laufen sie zu Assur.
12 But when they shall go, I will spred my net vpon them, and drawe them downe as the foules of the heauen: I will chastice them as their congregation hath heard.
Aber indem sie hin und her laufen, will ich mein Netz über sie werfen und herunterrücken wie die Vögel unter dem Himmel; ich will sie strafen, wie man prediget in ihrer Sammlung.
13 Wo vnto them: for they haue fled away from me: destruction shalbe vnto them, because they haue transgressed against me: though I haue redeemed them, yet they haue spoken lyes against me.
Wehe ihnen, daß sie von mir weichen! Sie müssen verstöret werden, denn sie sind abtrünnig von mir worden. Ich wollte sie wohl erlösen, wenn sie nicht wider mich Lügen lehreten.
14 And they haue not cryed vnto me with their hearts, when they houled vpon their beds: they assembled themselues for corne, and wine, and they rebell against me.
So rufen sie mich auch nicht an von Herzen, sondern lören auf ihren Lagern. Sie versammeln sich um Korn und Mosts willen und sind mir ungehorsam.
15 Though I haue boud and strengthened their arme, yet doe they imagine mischiefe against me.
Ich lehre sie und stärke ihren Arm; aber sie denken Böses von mir.
16 They returne, but not to the most high: they are like a deceitfull bowe: their princes shall fall by the sword, for the rage of their tongues: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.
Sie bekehren sich, aber nicht recht, sondern sind wie ein falscher Bogen; darum werden ihre Fürsten durchs Schwert fallen; ihr Dräuen soll in Ägyptenland zum Spott werden.
