< Hebrews 3 >

1 Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heauenly vocation, consider the Apostle and high Priest of our profession Christ Iesus:
Ko ia, ʻe kāinga māʻoniʻoni, ʻoku kau ʻi he ui mei he langi, tokanga lahi ki he ʻaposetolo mo e fungani taulaʻeiki ʻo ʻetau lotu, ko Kalaisi Sisu;
2 Who was faithfull to him that hath appointed him, euen as Moses was in al his house.
‌ʻAia naʻe angatonu kiate ia ne ne fakanofo ia, ʻo hangē foki ko Mōsese ʻi hono fale kotoa pē.
3 For this man is counted worthy of more glory then Moses, inasmuch as he which hath builded the house, hath more honour then the house.
He naʻe totonu ke ne maʻu ʻe ia ʻae ongoongolelei lahi ʻia Mōsese, ʻo hangē ʻoku maʻu ʻe ia ʻoku langa ʻae fale ʻae ongoongolelei lahi ʻi he fale.
4 For euery house is builded of some man, and he that hath built all things, is God.
He kuo langa kotoa pē ʻae fale ʻe ha taha; ka ko ia kuo ne langa ʻae ngaahi meʻa kotoa pē ko e ʻOtua.
5 Now Moses verely was faithfull in all his house, as a seruant, for a witnesse of the thinges which should be spoken after.
Pea naʻe angatonu moʻoni ʻa Mōsese ʻi hono fale kotoa pē, ʻo hangē ko e tamaioʻeiki, ko e fakamoʻoni ʻoe ngaahi meʻa ko ia ʻe leaʻaki;
6 But Christ is as the Sonne, ouer his owne house, whose house we are, if we holde fast that confidence and that reioycing of that hope vnto the ende.
Ka ko Kalaisi ko e ʻAlo ia ʻi hono fale ʻoʻona; pea ko hono fale ʻakitautolu, ʻo kapau te tau kuku maʻu ʻae tui mo e fiefia ʻoe ʻamanaki lelei ʻo aʻu ki he ikuʻanga.
7 Wherefore, as the holy Ghost sayth, To day if ye shall heare his voyce,
Ko ia (ʻo hangē ko e lea ʻae Laumālie Māʻoniʻoni, “Ko e ʻaho ni, ʻo kapau te mou fanongo ki hono leʻo,
8 Harden not your hearts, as in the prouocation, according to the day of the tentation in the wildernes,
‌ʻOua naʻa mou fakafefeka homou loto, ʻo hangē ko ia ʻi he fakahouhau ʻi he ʻaho ʻoe ʻahiʻahi ʻi he toafa:
9 Where your fathers tempted me, prooued me, and sawe my workes fourtie yeeres long.
‌ʻAia naʻe ʻahiʻahiʻi au ʻe hoʻomou ngaahi tamai, pea nau ʻahiʻahi kiate au, ʻonau mamata ki heʻeku ngaahi ngaue ʻi he taʻu ʻe fāngofulu.
10 Wherefore I was grieued with that generation, and sayde, They erre euer in their heart, neither haue they knowen my wayes.
Ko ia ne u fehiʻa ai ki he toʻutangata ko ia, peau pehē, ‘ʻOku nau he maʻuaipē ʻi honau loto: pea ʻoku ʻikai te nau ʻilo hoku ngaahi hala.’
11 Therefore I sware in my wrath, If they shall enter into my rest.
Ko ia ne u fuakava ai ʻi heʻeku houhau, ‘E ʻikai te nau hū ki hoku mālōlōʻanga.)’”
12 Take heede, brethren, least at any time there be in any of you an euill heart, and vnfaithfull, to depart away from the liuing God.
Tokanga, ʻe kāinga, telia naʻa ai hamou tokotaha ha loto kovi ʻo taʻetui, he mavahe mei he ʻOtua moʻui.
13 But exhort one another dayly, while it is called to day, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulnes of sinne.
Ka ke feakonakiʻaki ʻakimoutolu ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē, ʻoku lolotonga hono ui, “Ko e ʻaho ni;” telia naʻa mataila hamou tokotaha ʻi he fakakākaaʻi ʻe he angahala.
14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we keepe sure vnto the ende that beginning, wherewith we are vpholden,
He kuo maʻu ʻekitautolu ʻa Kalaisi, ʻo kapau te tau kuku maʻu ʻa ʻetau fuofua tui ʻo aʻu ki he ikuʻanga;
15 So long as it is sayd, To day if ye heare his voyce, harden not your hearts, as in the prouocation.
Pea lolotonga ʻoku pehē, “Ko e ʻaho ni, ʻo kapau te mou fanongo ki hono leʻo, ʻoua naʻa fakafefeka homou loto, ʻo hangē ko ia ʻi he fakahouhau.”
16 For some when they heard, prouoked him to anger: howbeit, not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
He ko hai naʻe fakahouhau ʻi he hili ʻenau fanongo? ʻIkai ko kinautolu kotoa pē naʻe haʻu mei ʻIsipite ia Mōsese?
17 But with whome was he displeased fourtie yeeres? Was hee not displeased with them that sinned, whose carkeises fell in the wildernes?
Ka ko hai ne houhau ai ia ʻi he taʻu ʻe fāngofulu? ʻIkai ko kinautolu naʻe angahala, pea tō honau ʻangaʻanga ʻi he toafa?
18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but vnto them that obeyed not?
Pea naʻe fuakava ia kia hai “ʻe ʻikai te nau hū ki hono mālōlōʻanga,” ka kiate kinautolu pe naʻe taʻetui?
19 So we see that they could not enter in, because of vnbeliefe.
Ko ia ʻoku tau ʻilo, naʻe ʻikai faʻa hū atu ʻakinautolu ko e meʻa ʻi he taʻetui.
