< Genesis 8 >

1 Now God remembred Noah and euery beast, and all the cattell that was with him in the Arke: therefore God made a winde to passe vpon the earth, and the waters ceased.
And God remembered Noah, and all the wild—beasts and all the tame-beasts that were with him in the ark, —and God caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided;
2 The fountaines also of the deepe and the windowes of heauen were stopped and the raine from heauen was restrained,
and the fountains of the roaring-deep were shut, and the windows of the heavens, —and the heavy rain was restrained from the heavens;
3 And the waters returned from aboue the earth, going and returning: and after the ende of the hundreth and fiftieth day the waters abated.
and the waters returned from off the earth they went on returning, —and so the waters decreased at the end of a hundred and fifty days.
4 And in the seuenth moneth, in the seuenteenth day of the moneth, the Arke rested vpon the mountaines of Ararat.
And the ark rested, in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, —on the mountains of Ararat.
5 And the waters were going and decreasing vntill the tenth moneth: in the tenth moneth, and in the first day of the moneth were the toppes of the mountaines seene.
But, the waters went on decreasing, until the tenth month, —in the tenth [month], on the first of the month, were seen the tops of the mountains.
6 So after fourtie dayes, Noah opened the windowe of the Arke, which he had made,
And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark that he had made;
7 And sent forth a rauen, which went out going forth and returning, vntill the waters were dried vp vpon the earth.
and sent forth a raven, —and it kept going forth and returning, until the drying up of the waters from off the earth.
8 Againe he sent a doue from him, that he might see if the waters were diminished from off the earth.
And he sent forth a dove from him, —to see whether the waters had abated, from off the face of the ground;
9 But the doue found no rest for the sole of her foote: therefore she returned vnto him into the Arke (for the waters were vpon the whole earth) and he put forth his hand, and receiued her, and tooke her to him into the Arke.
but the dove found no resting-place for the sole of her foot so she returned unto him into the ark, for, waters, were on the face of all the earth; and he put forth his hand and took her, and brought her in unto him, into the ark.
10 And he abode yet other seuen dayes, and againe he sent forth the doue out of the Arke.
Then stayed he yet seven days more, —and, again sent forth the dove out of the ark.
11 And the doue came to him in ye euening, and loe, in her mouth was an oliue leafe that she had pluckt: whereby Noah knewe that the waters were abated from off the earth.
And the dove came in unto him at eventide, and lo! a newly sprouted olive-leaf, in her mouth, —so Noah knew that the waters had abated from off the earth.
12 Notwithstanding he wayted yet other seuen dayes, and sent forth the doue, which returned not againe vnto him any more.
And he stayed yet seven days more, —and sent forth the dove, but she returned not again unto him any more.
13 And in the sixe hundreth and one yeere, in the first day of the first moneth the waters were dryed vp from off the earth: and Noah remoued the couering of the Arke and looked, and beholde, the vpper part of the ground was drie.
So it came to pass in the six hundred and first year at the beginning, on the first of the month, that the waters had dried up from off the earth, —and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked and lo! the face of the ground was dried.
14 And in the second moneth, in the seuen and twentieth day of the moneth was the earth drie.
And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, was the earth dry.
15 Then God spake to Noah, saying,
So then, God spake to Noah, saying:
16 Goe forth of the Arke, thou and thy wife, and thy sonnes and thy sonnes wiues with thee.
Come forth out of the ark, —thou and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
17 Bring forth with thee euery beast that is with thee, of all flesh, both foule and cattell, and euery thing that creepeth and moueth vpon the earth, that they may breede abundantly in ye earth, and bring forth fruite and increase vpon ye earth.
All the living creatures that are with thee of all flesh among birds, and among beasts, and among all the creeping things that creep on the earth, bring forth with thee, —and they shall swarm in the earth, and be fruitful and multiply, on the earth.
18 So Noah came forth, and his sonnes, and his wife, and his sonnes wiues with him.
So Noah came forth, —and his sons and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him:
19 Euery beast, euery creeping thing, and euery foule, all that moueth vpon the earth after their kindes went out of the Arke.
All the living creatures, all that move along, and all birds, and all that moveth along over the earth—by their families, came forth out of the ark.
20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and tooke of euery cleane beast, and of euery cleane foule, and offered burnt offerings vpon the altar.
And Noah builded an altar to Yahweh, —and took of all the clean beasts and of all the clean birds, and caused ascending Sacrifices to go up on the altar.
21 And the Lord smellled a sauour of rest, and the Lord said in his heart, I will hencefoorth curse the ground no more for mans cause: for the imagination of mans heart is euill, euen from his youth: neither will I smite any more all things liuing, as I haue done.
And Yahweh smelled a satisfying odour, so Yahweh said to himself. I will not, again, curse any more the ground for man’s sake, although the device of the heart of man, be wicked from his youth, —neither will I again, any more smite every living thing, as I have done.
22 Hereafter seede time and haruest, and colde and heate, and sommer and winter, and day and night shall not cease, so long as ye earth remaineth.
During all the days of the earth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat and summer and winter, and day and night, shall not cease.
