Genesis 50

1 Then Ioseph fell vpon his fathers face and wept vpon him, and kissed him.

Entonces José se echó sobre el rostro de su padre, lloró sobre él y lo besó.

2 And Ioseph commanded his seruantes the physicions, to enbaume his father, and the physicions enbaumed Israel.

Luego José dio órdenes a sus esclavos médicos para que embalsamaran a su padre. Y los médicos embalsamaron a Israel,

3 So fourtie dayes were accomplished (for so long did the dayes of them that were enbaumed last) and the Egyptians bewayled him seuentie dayes.

para lo cual emplearon 40 días, pues tal era el período requerido para embalsamar. Y los egipcios lloraron 70 días por él.

4 And when the dayes of his mourning were past, Ioseph spake to the house of Pharaoh, saying, If I haue nowe found fauour in your eyes, speake, I pray you, in the eares of Pharaoh, and say,

Cuando pasaron los días del duelo por él, José habló a la casa de Faraón: Si hallé gracia ante ustedes, les ruego que hablen a Faraón y le digan:

5 My father made me sweare, saying, Loe, I die, bury me in my graue, which I haue made me in the land of Canaan: now therefore let me go, I pray thee, and bury my father, and I wil come againe.

Mi padre me juramentó: Mira, voy a morir. Me sepultarás en el sepulcro que yo preparé para mí mismo en la tierra de Canaán. Ahora pues, permíteme que suba a sepultar a mi padre y regresaré.

6 Then Pharaoh said, Goe vp and bury thy father, as he made thee to sweare.

Y Faraón respondió: Sube y sepulta a tu padre, como él te juramentó.

7 So Ioseph went vp to bury his father, and with him went all the seruants of Pharaoh, both the elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt.

Entonces José subió a sepultar a su padre. Con él subieron todos los esclavos de Faraón, los ancianos de su casa y todos los ancianos de la tierra de Egipto,

8 Likewise all the house of Ioseph, and his brethren, and his fathers house: onely their children, and their sheepe, and their cattell left they in the land of Goshen.

así como toda la familia de José, sus hermanos y la familia de su padre. Solamente dejaron en la tierra de Gosén a sus pequeños, sus rebaños y sus manadas de ganado vacuno.

9 And there went vp with him both charets and horsemen: and they were an exceeding great company.

También subieron con él carrozas y jinetes, y se formó un cortejo muy grande.

10 And they came to Goren Atad, which is beyond Iorden, and there they made a great and exceeding sore lamentation: and he mourned for his father seuen dayes.

Cuando llegaron a la era de Atad que está al otro lado del Jordán, hicieron una lamentación muy grande y solemne. José hizo duelo por su padre siete días.

11 And when the Canaanites the inhabitants of the lande sawe the mourning in Goren Atad, they sayde, This is a great mourning vnto the Egyptians: wherefore the name thereof was called Abel Mizraim, which is beyond Iorden.

Cuando los cananeos, los habitantes de aquella tierra, vieron el duelo en la era de Atad, dijeron: Este es un profundo duelo de los egipcios. Por tanto, aquel lugar fue llamado Duelo de los Egipcios, el cual está al otro lado del Jordán.

12 So his sonnes did vnto him, according as he had commanded them:

Sus hijos hicieron como Israel les ordenó.

13 For his sonnes caried him into the lande of Canaan, and buried him in the caue of the fielde of Machpelah, which caue Abraham bought with the fielde, to be a place to bury in, of Ephron the Hittite besides Mamre.

Lo llevaron a la tierra de Canaán y lo sepultaron en la cueva del campo de la Macpela, campo que Abraham compró a Efrón heteo, como propiedad para sepultura, en frente de Mamre.

14 Then Ioseph returned into Egypt, he and his brethren, and al that went vp with him to bury his father, after that he had buried his father.

Después de sepultar a su padre, José regresó a Egipto juntamente con sus hermanos y todos los que subieron con él a sepultar a su padre.

15 And when Iosephs brethren saw that their father was dead, they sayde, It may be that Ioseph will hate vs, and will pay vs againe all the euill, which we did vnto him.

Cuando los hermanos de José vieron que su padre murió, dijeron: Quizás José nos guarde rencor y nos devuelva todo el mal que le hicimos.

16 Therefore they sent vnto Ioseph, saying, Thy father commanded before his death, saying,

Entonces mandaron a decir a José: Tu padre dio órdenes antes de su muerte:

17 Thus shall ye say vnto Ioseph, Forgiue now, I pray thee, the trespasse of thy brethren, and their sinne: for they rewarded thee euil. And nowe, we pray thee, forgiue the trespasse of the seruants of thy fathers God. And Ioseph wept, when they spake vnto him.

Así dirán a José: Te ruego que perdones la transgresión de tus hermanos y su pecado, pues ellos te hicieron mal. Y ahora, te rogamos que perdones la transgresión de los esclavos del ʼElohim de tu padre. Y José lloraba mientras hablaban con él.

18 Also his brethren came vnto him, and fell downe before his face, and sayde, Beholde, we be thy seruants.

Entonces sus hermanos se acercaron, se postraron ante él y dijeron: ¡Aquí estamos como esclavos tuyos!

19 To whome Ioseph sayde, Feare not: for am not I vnder God?

Pero José les respondió: No teman. ¿Estoy yo en lugar de ʼElohim?

20 When ye thought euill against mee, God disposed it to good, that he might bring to passe, as it is this day, and saue much people aliue.

Aunque ustedes pensaron mal contra mí, ʼElohim lo encaminó para bien al producir el presente resultado para preservar viva a mucha gente.

21 Feare not nowe therefore, I will nourish you, and your children: and hee comforted them, and spake kindly vnto them.

Así que, no teman. Yo los sustentaré a ustedes y a sus pequeños. Así los consoló y les habló al corazón.

22 So Ioseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his fathers house: and Ioseph liued an hundreth and tenne yeere.

Así que José y la familia de su padre permanecieron en Egipto. Y José vivió 110 años.

23 And Ioseph saw Ephraims children, euen vnto the third generation: also the sonnes of Machir the sonne of Manasseh were brought vp on Iosephs knees.

José vio a los hijos de Efraín hasta la tercera generación. También los hijos de Maquir, hijo de Manasés, nacieron sobre las rodillas de José.

24 And Ioseph sayd vnto his brethren, I am ready to dye, and God will surely visite you, and bring you out of this land, vnto ye land which hee sware vnto Abraham, vnto Izhak, and vnto Iaakob.

Después José dijo a sus hermanos: Yo voy a morir, pero ʼElohim ciertamente los visitará y los hará subir de esta tierra a la tierra que juró dar a Abraham, a Isaac y a Jacob.

25 And Ioseph tooke an othe of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visite you, and ye shall cary my bones hence.

Entonces José juramentó a los hijos de Israel: ʼElohim ciertamente los visitará. Entonces ustedes harán subir de aquí mis huesos.

26 So Ioseph died, when he was an hundreth and ten yere olde: and they enbaumed him and put him in a chest in Egypt.

José murió a la edad de 110 años. Lo embalsamaron y fue puesto en un ataúd en Egipto.
