Genesis 17

1 When Abram was ninetie yeere olde and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said vnto him, I am God all sufficient. walke before me, and be thou vpright,

Cuando Abram tenía noventa y nueve años, se le apareció Yahvé y le dijo: “Yo soy el Dios Todopoderoso; camina en mi presencia y sé perfecto.

2 And I will make my couenant betweene me and thee, and I will multiplie thee exceedingly.

Yo estableceré mi pacto entre Mí y ti, y te multiplicaré sobremanera.”

3 Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying,

Entonces Abram se postró rostro en tierra, y Dios siguió diciéndole:

4 Beholde, I make my couenant with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations,

“En cuanto a Mí, he aquí mi pacto contigo: tú serás padre de una multitud de pueblos;

5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shalbe Abraham: for a father of many nations haue I made thee.

y no te llamarás más Abram, sino que tu nombre será Abrahán, porque te he puesto por padre de muchos pueblos.

6 Also I will make thee exceeding fruitfull, and will make nations of thee: yea, Kings shall proceede of thee.

Te haré crecer sobremanera, y te haré padre de pueblos, y reyes saldrán de ti.

7 Moreouer I wil establish my couenant betweene me and thee, and thy seede after thee in their generations, for an euerlasting couenant, to be God vnto thee and to thy seede after thee.

Y estableceré mi pacto en Mí y ti, y tu descendencia después de ti en la serie de sus generaciones, como pacto eterno, para ser Yo el Dios tuyo y el de tu posteridad después de ti.

8 And I will giue thee and thy seede after thee the land, wherein thou art a stranger, euen all the land of Canaan, for an euerlasting possession, and I will be their God.

Y te daré a ti, y a tu descendencia después de ti, la tierra de tus peregrinaciones, toda la tierra de Canaán, en posesión perpetua; y Yo seré su Dios.”

9 Againe God said vnto Abraham, Thou also shalt keepe my couenant, thou, and thy seede after thee in their generations.

Dijo Dios a Abrahán: “Tú, pues, guarda mi pacto, y tu descendencia después de ti en la serie de sus generaciones.

10 This is my couenant which ye shall keepe betweene me and you, and thy seede after thee, Let euery man childe among you be circumcised:

Este es mi pacto que habéis de guardar entre Mí y vosotros y tu posteridad después de ti: Todo varón entre vosotros ha de ser circuncidado.

11 That is, ye shall circumcise the foreskin of your flesh, and it shalbe a signe of the couenant betweene me and you.

Os circundaréis la carne de vuestro prepucio; y esto será en señal del pacto entre Mí y vosotros.

12 And euery man childe of eight dayes olde among you, shalbe circumcised in your generations, aswell he that is borne in thine house, as he that is bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seede.

A los ocho días será circuncidado entre vosotros todo varón en el transcurso de vuestras generaciones, tanto el nacido en (tu) casa como el comprado con dinero a cualquier extraño, aunque no sea de su raza,

13 He that is borne in thine house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needes be circumcised: so my couenant shall be in your flesh for an euerlasting couenant.

Sí, deben ser circuncidados el nacido en tu casa y el adquirido con tu dinero, de modo que mi pacto estará en vuestra carne como alianza eterna.

14 But the vncircumcised man childe, in whose flesh the foreskin is not circumcised, euen that person shall be cut off from his people, because he hath broken my couenant.

El varón incircunciso, que no se circuncidare la carne de su prepucio, será exterminado de entre su pueblo por haber quebrantado mi pacto.”

15 Afterward God said vnto Abraham, Sarai thy wife shalt thou not call Sarai, but Sarah shalbe her name.

Dijo Dios a Abrahán: “A Sarai, tu mujer, no la llamarás más Sarai, porque su nombre será Sara.

16 And I will blesse her, and will also giue thee a sonne of her, yea, I will blesse her, and she shall be the mother of nations: Kings also of people shall come of her.

Yo la bendeciré, y de ella también te daré un hijo. La bendeciré, y será madre de naciones; reyes de pueblos procederán de ella.”

17 Then Abraham fell vpon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a childe be borne vnto him, that is an hundreth yeere olde? and shall Sarah that is ninetie yeere olde beare?

Entonces cayo Abrahán sobre su rostro y riéndose dijo en su corazón: “¿A hombre de cien años le ha de nacer hijo, y Sara ya nonagenaria va a dar a luz?”

18 And Abraham saide vnto God, Oh, that Ishmael might liue in thy sight.

Y dijo Abrahán a Dios: “¡Viva al menos delante de Ti Ismael!”

19 Then God saide, Sarah thy wife shall beare thee a sonne in deede, and thou shalt call his name Izhak: and I will establish my couenant with him for an euerlasting couenant, and with his seede after him.

Respondió Dios: “De cierto que Sara tu mujer te dará a luz un hijo, y le pondrás por nombre Isaac; y Yo estableceré mi pacto con él como pacto eterno, y con su posteridad después de él.

20 And as concerning Ishmael, I haue heard thee: loe, I haue blessed him, and will make him fruitfull, and will multiplie him exceedingly: twelue princes shall he beget, and I will make a great nation of him.

“En cuanto a Ismael, he otorgado tu petición. He aquí que le he bendecido; le multiplicaré y le haré crecer sobremanera. Doce príncipes engendrará y le haré padre de un gran pueblo.

21 But my couenant will I establish with Izhak, which Sarah shall beare vnto thee, the next yeere at this season.

Pero mi pacto lo estableceré con Isaac, que Sara te dará a luz por este tiempo el año que viene.”

22 And he left off talking with him, and God went vp from Abraham.

Y después de hablar con él, subió Dios dejando a Abrahán.

23 Then Abraham tooke Ishmael his sonne and all that were borne in his house, and all that was bought with his money, that is, euery man childe among the men of Abrahams house, and he circumcised the foreskinne of their flesh in that selfe same day, as God had comaunded him.

Tomó entonces Abrahán a Ismael, su hijo, y a todos los nacidos en su casa, y a todos los comprados con su dinero, a todos los varones de la casa de Abrahán, y en ese mismo día les circuncidó la carne del prepucio, como Dios le había mandado.

24 Abraham also himselfe was ninetie yeere olde and nine, when the foreskinne of his flesh was circumcised.

Tenía Abrahán noventa y nueve años cuando circuncidó la carne de su prepucio.

25 And Ishmael his sonne was thirteene yeere olde, when the foreskinne of his flesh was circumcised.

Ismael, su hijo, era de trece años cuando fue circuncidado en la carne de su prepucio.

26 The selfe same day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his sonne:

En el mismo día fueron circuncidados Abrahán y su hijo Ismael.

27 And all the men of his house, both borne in his house, and bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him.

Y todos los varones de su casa, los nacidos en su casa, y los comprados a extraños por dinero, fueron circuncidados juntamente con él.
