Ezra 6
1 Then King Darius gaue commandement, and they made search in the librarie of the treasures, which were there layd vp in Babel.
૧તેથી દાર્યાવેશ રાજાએ બાબિલના ભંડારોના કાર્યાલયમાં તપાસ કરવાનો હુકમ કર્યો.
2 And there was founde in a coffer (in the palace that was in the prouince of the Medes) a volume, and therein was it thus written, as a memoriall,
૨માદાય પ્રાંતના એકબાતાનાના કિલ્લામાંથી એક લેખ મળી આવ્યો; તેમાં આ પ્રમાણે લખેલું હતું.
3 IN THE FIRST yeere of King Cyrus, King Cyrus made a decree for the house of God in Ierusalem, Let the house be buylt, euen the place where they offred sacrifices, and let the walles thereof be ioyned together: let the height thereof be three score cubites, and the breadth thereof three score cubites,
૩“કોરેશ રાજાએ પોતાના શાસનના પ્રથમ વર્ષ દરમિયાન યરુશાલેમમાં આવેલા ઈશ્વરના ભક્તિસ્થાનના સંબંધમાં આ હુકમ ફરમાવ્યો હતો: ‘અર્પણ કરવાનું ભક્તિસ્થાન બાંધવું. તે દીવાલની ઊંચાઈ સાઠ હાથ તથા પહોળાઈ સાઠ હાથ રાખવી.
4 Three orders of great stones, and one order of timber, and let the expenses be giuen of the Kings house.
૪મોટા પથ્થરની ત્રણ હારો અને નવા લાકડાની એક હાર રાખવી. અને તેનો ખર્ચ રાજ્યના ભંડારમાંથી આપવો.
5 And also let them render the vessels of the house of God (of golde and siluer, which Nebuchadnezzar tooke out of the Temple, which was in Ierusalem, and brought vnto Babel) and let him goe vnto the Temple that is in Ierusalem to his place, and put them in the house of God.
૫તદુપરાંત યરુશાલેમના ભક્તિસ્થાનમાંથી નબૂખાદનેસ્સાર સોનાચાંદીના જે વાસણો બાબિલના મંદિરમાં લઈ આવ્યો હતો, તે પાછાં યરુશાલેમમાંના ભક્તિસ્થાનમાં મોકલી, અસલ જગ્યાએ મૂકવા.’”
6 Therefore Tatnai captaine beyond the Riuer, and Shethar Boznai, (and their companions Apharsecaie, which are beyonde the Riuer) be ye farre from thence.
૬હવે તાત્તનાયે, શથાર-બોઝનાયે તથા નદીની પેલી પારના તેમના સાથી અમલદારોએ દૂર રહેવું.
7 Suffer ye the worke of this house of God, that the captaine of the Iewes and the Elders of the Iewes may buylde this house of God in his place.
૭ઈશ્વરના એ ભક્તિસ્થાનના બાંધકામને તમારે છેડવું નહિ. યહૂદિયાના શાસક તથા યહૂદીઓના વડીલો ઈશ્વરનું એ ભક્તિસ્થાન મૂળ સ્થાને ફરીથી બાંધે.
8 For I haue giuen a commandement what ye shall doe to the Elders of these Iewes, for the buylding of this house of God, that of the reuenues of the King, which is of the tribute beyonde the Riuer, there be incontinently expenses giuen vnto these men that they cease not.
૮યહૂદીઓના વડીલોને ઈશ્વરનું ભક્તિસ્થાન બાંધવામાં તમારે મદદ કરવી એવો મારો હુકમ છે: રાજ્યની મિલકતમાંથી, એટલે નદી પારના દેશની ખંડણીમાંથી, એ માણસોને બનતી તાકીદે ખર્ચ આપવો કે તેઓને બાંધકામમાં અટકાવ થાય નહિ.
9 And that which they shall haue neede of, let it be giuen vnto them day by day, whether it be yong bullockes, or rammes, or lambes for the burnt offrings of the God of heauen, wheate, salt, wine, and oyle, according to the appoyntment of the Priestes that are in Ierusalem, that there bee no fault,
૯તેઓને જે કોઈ ચીજની જરૂર હોય તે, એટલે આકાશના ઈશ્વરનાં દહનીયાર્પણો માટે જુવાન બળદો, બકરાં, ઘેટાં તથા હલવાનો, તેમ જ યરુશાલેમના યાજકોના કહેવા પ્રમાણે ઘઉં, મીઠું, દ્રાક્ષારસ તથા તેલ દરરોજ અચૂક આપવાં.
10 That they may haue to offer sweete odours vnto the God of heauen, and praye for the Kings life, and for his sonnes.
૧૦આ પ્રમાણે કરો કે જેથી તેઓ આકાશના ઈશ્વરની આગળ સુવાસિત યજ્ઞો કરે અને રાજાના તથા તેના પુત્રોના જીવનને માટે પ્રાર્થના કરે.
11 And I haue made a decree, that whosoeuer shall alter this sentence, the wood shall be pulled downe from his house, and shall be set vp, and he shalbe hanged thereon, and his house shalbe made a dunghill for this.
૧૧વળી મેં એવો હુકમ કર્યો છે કે જે કોઈ આ હુકમનું ઉલ્લંઘન કરે તેના ઘરમાંથી એક મોભની શૂળી બનાવીને તેના પર તેને ચઢાવી દેવો. અને તેના ઘરનો ઉકરડો કરી નાખવો.
12 And the God that hath caused his Name to dwell there, destroy all Kings and people that put to their hand to alter, and to destroy this house of God, which is in Ierusalem. I Darius haue made a decree, let it be done with speede.
૧૨જે રાજાઓ કે પ્રજાઓ યરુશાલેમના ઈશ્વરના સભાસ્થાનનો ફેરફાર કરવાનો કે વિનાશ કરવાનો પ્રયત્ન કરશે તેનો ઈશ્વર નાશ કરો. હું દાર્યાવેશ, તમને આ હુકમ કરું છું. તેનો ઝડપથી અમલ કરો!”
13 Then Tatnai the captaine beyond the Riuer, and Shethar Boznai and their companions, according to that which Darius had sent, so they did speedily.
૧૩પછી તાત્તનાયે, શથાર-બોઝનાયે તથા તેમના સાથીઓએ દાર્યાવેશ રાજાએ ફરમાવ્યા પ્રમાણે આ હુકમનું પાલન કર્યું.
14 So the Elders of the Iewes builded, and they prospered by the prophecying of Haggai the Prophet, and Zechariah the sonne of Iddo, and they buylded and finished it, by the appoyntment of the God of Israel, and by the commandement of Cyrus and Darius, and Artahshashte king of Persia.
૧૪તેથી યહૂદીઓના વડીલોએ પ્રબોધકો હાગ્ગાય તથા ઇદ્દોના પુત્ર ઝખાર્યાનાં પ્રબોધથી પ્રેરાઈને સભાસ્થાનનું બાંધકામ ફરીથી ચાલુ કર્યું. તેઓએ ઇઝરાયલના ઈશ્વરની આજ્ઞા મુજબ કોરેશ, દાર્યાવેશ અને ઇરાનના રાજા આર્તાહશાસ્તાના ઠરાવ પ્રમાણે બાંધકામ સમાપ્ત કર્યું.
15 And this house was finished the thirde day of the moneth Adar, which was the sixt yeere of the reigne of King Darius.
૧૫દાર્યાવેશ રાજાના રાજ્યના છઠ્ઠા વર્ષમાં અદાર મહિનાના ત્રીજા દિવસે આ ભક્તિસ્થાન પૂરેપૂરું બંધાઈ રહ્યું.
16 And the children of Israel, the Priestes, and the Leuites, and the residue of the children of the captiuitie kept the dedication of this house of God with ioy,
૧૬ઇઝરાયલી લોકોએ, યાજકોએ, લેવીઓએ તથા બંદીવાસમાંથી આવેલા બાકીના લોકોએ ઈશ્વરના આ સભાસ્થાનનું પ્રતિષ્ઠાપર્વ આનંદપૂર્વક ઉજવ્યું.
17 And offred at the dedication of this house of God an hundreth bullockes, two hundreth rams, foure hundreth lambes, and twelue goates, for the sinne of all Israel, according to the nomber of the tribes of Israel.
૧૭ઈશ્વરના એ ભક્તિસ્થાનના પ્રતિષ્ઠાપર્વ પર તેઓએ સો બળદો, બસો ઘેટાં, ચારસો હલવાન તથા ઇઝરાયલી લોકોનાં કુળોની સંખ્યા પ્રમાણે બાર બકરાં સર્વ ઇઝરાયલીઓને માટે પાપાર્થાર્પણ તરીકે ચઢાવ્યા.
18 And they set the Priests in their order, and the Leuites in their courses ouer the seruice of God in Ierusalem, as it is written in the booke of Moses.
૧૮મૂસાના પુસ્તકમાં લખ્યા પ્રમાણે, યરુશાલેમના ઈશ્વરની સેવા કરવાને તેઓએ યાજકોને તેઓના વિભાગો પ્રમાણે તથા લેવીઓને તેઓના વર્ગો પ્રમાણે નીમ્યા.
19 And the childre of the captiuitie kept the Passeouer on ye fourtenth day of the first moneth.
૧૯બંદીવાસમાંથી આવેલા માણસોએ પહેલા મહિનાના ચૌદમા દિવસે પાસ્ખાપર્વ ઊજવ્યું.
20 (For the Priests and the Leuites were purified altogether) and they killed the Passeouer for all the children of the captiuitie, and for their brethren the Priests, and for themselues.
૨૦યાજકોએ તથા લેવીઓએ પોતાનું શુદ્ધિકરણ કર્યું હતું અને બંદીવાસમાંથી આવેલા સર્વ લોકોને માટે તથા પોતાને માટે લેવીઓએ પાસ્ખા કાપ્યું.
21 So the children of Israel which were come againe out of captiuitie, and all such as had separated themselues vnto them, from the filthines of the Heathen of the land, to seeke the Lord God of Israel, did eate,
૨૧બંદીવાસમાંથી પાછા આવેલા ઇઝરાયલી લોકોએ તથા દેશના મૂર્તિપૂજકોની અશુધ્ધતાથી અલગ થઈને ઇઝરાયલના પ્રભુ ઈશ્વરની આરાધના કરવા માટે ભેગા થયેલા સર્વએ તે ખાધું.
22 And they kept ye feast of vnleauened bread seuen dayes with ioy: for the Lord had made them glad, and turned the heart of the King of Asshur vnto them, to incourage them in the worke of the house of God, euen the God of Israel.
૨૨સાત દિવસ સુધી તેમણે આનંદભેર બેખમીરી રોટલીનું પર્વ ઊજવ્યું, કેમ કે ઈશ્વરે તેઓને આનંદિત કર્યા હતા અને ઇઝરાયલના ઈશ્વરના ભક્તિસ્થાનના કામમાં તેઓના હાથ પ્રબળ કરવા માટે, ઈશ્વરે આશ્શૂરના રાજાના હૃદયમાં તેઓ પ્રત્યે દયાભાવ ઉત્પન્ન કર્યો હતો.
