Ezekiel 9

1 He cryed also with a loude voyce in mine eares, saying, The visitations of the citie draw neere, and euery man hath a weapon in his hande to destroy it.

Y gritó a mis oídos con voz fuerte y dijo: “Acercaos los que estáis encargados del castigo de la ciudad, cada uno con su arma de destrucción en su mano.”

2 And beholde, sixe men came by the way of the hie gate, which lieth towarde the North, and euery man a weapon in his hande to destroy it: and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writers ynkhorne by his side, and they went in and stoode beside the brasen altar.

Y he aquí que venían seis varones por el camino de la puerta superior, que mira al norte; y cada uno tenía en su mano su instrumento de destrucción. En medio de ellos estaba un varón vestido de lino, que traía en la cintura un tintero de escriba. Entraron y se pusieron junto al altar de bronce.

3 And the glorie of the God of Israel was gone vp from ye Cherub, whereupon he was and stoode on the doore of the house, and he called to the man clothed with linnen, which had the writers ynkhorne by his side.

Entonces la gloria del Dios de Israel se elevó de encima del Querubim, sobre el cual residía, hacia el umbral de la Casa; y llamó al varón vestido de lino, el cual traía en su cintura el tintero de escriba.

4 And the Lord said vnto him, Goe through the middes of the citie, euen through the middes of Ierusalem and set a marke vpon the foreheads of them that mourne, and cry for all the abominations that be done in the middes thereof.

y le dijo Yahvé: “Pasa por en medio de la ciudad, por en medio de Jerusalén, y pon por marca una Tau en la frente de los hombres que gimen y se lamentan a causa de todas las abominaciones que se cometen dentro de ella.”

5 And to the other he said, that I might heare, Goe ye after him through the citie, and smite: let your eye spare none, neither haue pitie.

A los otros les dijo, oyéndolo yo: “Pasad tras él por la ciudad, y matad. No perdone vuestro ojo, ni tengáis piedad.

6 Destroy vtterly the old, and the yong, and the maides, and the children, and the women, but touch no man, vpon whome is the marke, and begin at my Sanctuarie. Then they began at the Ancient men, which were before the house.

Matad al anciano y al joven, a las doncellas, a los niños y a las mujeres, hasta el exterminio. Mas no os acerquéis a ninguno que esté marcado con la Tau. Y comenzad por mi Santuario.” Comenzaron, pues, por los ancianos que estaban delante de la Casa.

7 And he sayde vnto them, Defile the house, and fill the courtes with the slaine, then goe foorth: and they went out, and slewe them in the citie.

Y les dijo: “Contaminad la Casa y llenad los atrios de cadáveres. Salid.” Salieron y mataron en la ciudad.

8 Nowe when they had slaine them, and I had escaped, I fell downe vpon my face, and cryed, saying, Ah Lord God, wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel, in powring out thy wrath vpon Ierusalem?

Mientras ellos mataban y quedándome yo (solo), me postré sobre mi rostro y clamé, diciendo: “¡Ay, Señor Yahvé! ¿Vas a destruir todo el resto de Israel, derramando tu cólera sobre Jerusalén?”

9 Then saide he vnto me, The iniquitie of the house of Israel, and Iudah is exceeding great, so that the lande is full of blood, and the citie full of corrupt iudgement: for they say, The Lord hath forsaken the earth, and the Lord seeth vs not.

Me respondió: “La iniquidad de la casa de Israel y de Judá es demasiado grande; la tierra se ha llenado de sangre y la ciudad está atestada de injusticias; porque dicen: Yahvé ha abandonado la tierra, Yahvé no ve nada.

10 As touching me also, mine eye shall not spare them, neither will I haue pitie, but will recompence their wayes vpon their heades.

Por eso tampoco perdonará mi ojo, y ya no tendré piedad; haré recaer sus obras sobre su cabeza.”

11 And beholde, the man clothed with linen which had the ynkhorne by his side, made report, and saide, Lord, I haue done as thou hast commanded me.

Y he aquí que aquel varón vestido de lino, que tenía en su cintura el tintero, vino a dar parte, diciendo: “He hecho según me mandaste.”
