Ezekiel 39

1 Therefore, thou sonne of man, prophecie against Gog, and say, Thus sayeth the Lord God, Behold, I come against thee, O Gog, ye chiefe prince of Meshech and Tubal.

Et toi, fils de l’homme, prophétise contre Gog! Tu diras: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Voici, j’en veux à toi, Gog, Prince de Rosch, de Méschec et de Tubal!

2 And I will destroy thee and leaue but the sixt part of thee, and will cause thee to come vp from the North partes and will bring thee vpon the mountaines of Israel:

Je t’entraînerai, je te conduirai, Je te ferai monter des extrémités du septentrion, Et je t’amènerai sur les montagnes d’Israël.

3 And I will smite thy bowe out of thy left hand, and I will cause thine arrowes to fall out of thy right hand.

J’abattrai ton arc de ta main gauche, Et je ferai tomber tes flèches de ta main droite.

4 Thou shalt fal vpon the mountaines of Israel, and all thy bands and the people, that is with thee: for I will giue thee vnto the birdes and to euery feathered foule and beast of the fielde to be deuoured.

Tu tomberas sur les montagnes d’Israël, Toi et toutes tes troupes, Et les peuples qui seront avec toi; Aux oiseaux de proie, à tout ce qui a des ailes, Et aux bêtes des champs je te donnerai pour pâture.

5 Thou shalt fall vpon the open fielde: for I haue spoken it, sayth the Lord God.

Tu tomberas sur la face de la terre, Car j’ai parlé, dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.

6 And I will sende a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell safely in the yles, and they shall knowe that I am the Lord.

J’enverrai le feu dans Magog, Et parmi ceux qui habitent en sécurité les îles; Et ils sauront que je suis l’Éternel.

7 So will I make mine holy Name knowen in the middes of my people Israel, and I will not suffer them to pollute mine holy Name any more, and the heathen shall knowe that I am the Lord, the holy one of Israel.

Je ferai connaître mon saint nom au milieu de mon peuple d’Israël, Et je ne laisserai plus profaner mon saint nom; Et les nations sauront que je suis l’Éternel, Le Saint en Israël.

8 Beholde, it is come, and it is done, sayeth the Lord God: and this is the day whereof I haue spoken.

Voici, ces choses viennent, elles arrivent, Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel; C’est le jour dont j’ai parlé.

9 And they that dwell in the cities of Israel, shall goe forth, and shall burne and set fire vpon the weapons, and on the shieldes, and bucklers, vpon the bowes, and vpon the arrowes, and vpon the staues in their handes, and vpon the speares, and they shall burne them with fire seuen yeeres.

Alors les habitants des villes d’Israël sortiront, Ils brûleront et livreront aux flammes les armes, Les petits et les grands boucliers, Les arcs et les flèches, Les piques et les lances; Ils en feront du feu pendant sept ans.

10 So that they shall bring no wood out of the fielde, neither cut downe any out of the forestes: for they shall burne the weapons with fire, and they shall robbe those that robbed them, and spoyle those that spoyled them, sayeth the Lord God.

Ils ne prendront point de bois dans les champs, Et ils n’en couperont point dans les forêts, Car c’est avec les armes qu’ils feront du feu. Ils dépouilleront ceux qui les ont dépouillés, Ils pilleront ceux qui les ont pillés, Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.

11 And at the same time will I giue vnto Gog a place there for burial in Israel, euen the valley whereby men go towarde the East part of the sea: and it shall cause them that passe by, to stoppe their noses, and there shall they bury Gog with all his multitude: and they shall call it the valley of Hamon-Gog.

En ce jour-là, Je donnerai à Gog un lieu qui lui servira de sépulcre en Israël, La vallée des voyageurs, à l’orient de la mer; Ce sépulcre fermera le passage aux voyageurs. C’est là qu’on enterrera Gog et toute sa multitude, Et on appellera cette vallée la vallée de la multitude de Gog.

12 And seuen moneths long shall the house of Israel be burying of the, that they may clense the land.

La maison d’Israël les enterrera, Afin de purifier le pays; Et cela durera sept mois.

13 Yea, all the people of the lande shall burie them, and they shall haue a name when I shall be glorified, saith the Lord God.

Tout le peuple du pays les enterrera, Et il en aura du renom, Le jour où je serai glorifié, Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.

14 And they shall chuse out men to goe continually through the lande with them that trauaile, to bury those that remaine vpon ye ground, and clense it: they shall search to the ende of seuen moneths.

Ils choisiront des hommes qui seront sans cesse à parcourir le pays, Et qui enterreront, avec l’aide des voyageurs, Les corps restés à la surface de la terre; Ils purifieront le pays, Et ils seront à la recherche pendant sept mois entiers.

15 And the trauailers that passe through the land, if any see a mans bone, then shall he set vp a signe by it, till the buriers haue buried it, in the valley of Hamon-Gog.

Ils parcourront le pays; Et quand l’un d’eux verra les ossements d’un homme, Il mettra près de là un signe, Jusqu’à ce que les fossoyeurs l’enterrent Dans la vallée de la multitude de Gog.

16 And also the name of the citie shalbe Hamonah: thus shall they clense the land.

Il y aura aussi une ville appelée Hamona. C’est ainsi qu’on purifiera le pays.

17 And thou sonne of man, thus sayeth the Lord God, Speake vnto euery feathered foule, and to all the beastes of the fielde, Assemble your selues, and come gather your selues on euery side to my sacrifice: for I do sacrifice a great sacrifice for you vpon the mountaines of Israel, that ye may eate flesh, and drinke blood.

Et toi, fils de l’homme, ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Dis aux oiseaux, à tout ce qui a des ailes, Et à toutes les bêtes des champs: Réunissez-vous, venez, rassemblez-vous de toutes parts, Pour le sacrifice où j’immole pour vous des victimes, Grand sacrifice sur les montagnes d’Israël! Vous mangerez de la chair, et vous boirez du sang.

18 Ye shall eate the flesh of the valiant, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of the weathers, of the lambes, and of the goates, and of bullockes, euen of all fat beastes of Bashan.

Vous mangerez la chair des héros, Et vous boirez le sang des princes de la terre, Béliers, agneaux, boucs, Taureaux engraissés sur le Basan.

19 And ye shall eate fat till you be full, and drinke blood, till ye be drunken of my sacrifice, which I haue sacrificed for you.

Vous mangerez de la graisse jusqu’à vous en rassasier, Et vous boirez du sang jusqu’à vous enivrer, A ce festin de victimes que j’immolerai pour vous.

20 Thus you shalbe filled at my table with horses and chariots, with valiant men, and with al men of warre, sayth the Lord God.

Vous vous rassasierez à ma table de la chair des chevaux et des cavaliers, De la chair des héros et de tous les hommes de guerre, Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.

21 And I wil set my glory among the heathe, and all the heathen shall see my iudgement, that I haue executed, and mine hand, which I haue layed vpon them.

Je manifesterai ma gloire parmi les nations; Et toutes les nations verront les jugements que j’exercerai, Et les châtiments dont ma main les frappera.

22 So the house of Israel shall knowe, that I am the Lord their God from that day and so forth.

La maison d’Israël saura que je suis l’Éternel, son Dieu, Dès ce jour et à l’avenir.

23 And the heathen shall knowe, that ye house of Israel went into captiuitie for their iniquitie, because they trespassed against me: therefore hid I my face from them, and gaue them into ye hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.

Et les nations sauront que c’est à cause de ses iniquités Que la maison d’Israël a été conduite en captivité, A cause de ses infidélités envers moi; Aussi je leur ai caché ma face, Et je les ai livrés entre les mains de leurs ennemis, Afin qu’ils périssent tous par l’épée.

24 According to their vncleannes, and according to their transgressions haue I done vnto the, and hid my face from them.

Je les ai traités selon leurs souillures et leurs transgressions, Et je leur ai caché ma face.

25 Therefore thus sayth the Lord God, Nowe will I bring againe the captiuitie of Iaakob, and haue compassion vpon the whole house of Israel, and wil be ielous for mine holy Name,

C’est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Maintenant je ramènerai les captifs de Jacob, J’aurai pitié de toute la maison d’Israël, Et je serai jaloux de mon saint nom.

26 After that they haue borne their shame, and all their transgression, whereby they haue transgressed against me, whe they dwelt safely in their land, and without feare of any.

Alors ils oublieront leur opprobre, Et toutes les infidélités qu’ils ont commises envers moi, Lorsqu’ils habitaient en sécurité leur pays, Et qu’il n’y avait personne pour les troubler.

27 When I haue brought them againe from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies landes, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations,

Quand je les ramènerai d’entre les peuples, Quand je les rassemblerai du pays de leurs ennemis, Je serai sanctifié par eux aux yeux de beaucoup de nations.

28 Then shall they know, that I am the Lord their God, which caused them to be led into captiuitie among the heathen: but I haue gathered them vnto their owne land, and haue left none of them any more there,

Et ils sauront que je suis l’Éternel, leur Dieu, Qui les avait emmenés captifs parmi les nations, Et qui les rassemble dans leur pays; Je ne laisserai chez elles aucun d’eux,

29 Neither wil I hide my face any more from them: for I haue powred out my Spirit vpon the house of Israel, sayth the Lord God.

Et je ne leur cacherai plus ma face, Car je répandrai mon esprit sur la maison d’Israël, Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.
