Ezekiel 33

1 Again, the woorde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,

És lett hozzám az Örökkévaló igéje, mondván:

2 Sonne of man, speake to the children of thy people, and say vnto them, When I bring the sworde vpon a lande, if the people of the lande take a man from among them, and make him their watchman,

Ember fia, beszélj néped fiaihoz és szólj hozzájuk: Ország, midőn hozok reája kardot, és az ország népe vesz egy férfit a maga kebléből és megteszik őt maguknak őrré,

3 If when hee seeth the sworde come vpon ye land, he blow the trumpet, and warne the people,

és látja a kardot, a mint jön az országra és megfújja a harsonát, hogy megintse a népet,

4 Then hee that heareth the sounde of the trumpet, and will not bee warned, if the sworde come, and take him away, his blood shall be vpon his owne head.

és hallja, a ki hallja a harsona hangját, de nem hajtott intésre és jött a kard és elragadta: annak vére a fején lesz.

5 For he heard the sound of the trumpet, and woulde not bee admonished: therefore his blood shall be vpon him: but he that receiueth warning, shall saue his life.

A harsona hangját hallotta és nem hajtott intésre, vére ő rajta lesz; ha intésre hajtott, megszabadította volna a lelkét.

6 But if the watchman see the sworde come, and blowe not the trumpet, and the people be not warned: if the sworde come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away for his iniquitie, but his blood will I require at the watchmans hande.

De az őr, midőn látja a kardot, a mint jön és nem fújta meg a harsonát és a nép nem intetett meg, tehát jött a kard és elragadott közülök egy lelket: az bűnében ragadtatott el, a vérét pedig az őr kezétől fogom követelni.

7 So thou, O sonne of man, I haue made thee a watchman vnto the house of Israel: therefore thou shalt heare the woorde at my mouth, and admonish them from me.

Te pedig, ember fia, őrré tettelek Izraél háza számára, hogy ha igét hallasz számból, megintsed őket részemről.

8 When I shall say vnto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt die the death, if thou doest not speake, and admonish the wicked of his way, that wicked man shall die for his iniquitie, but his blood will I require at thine hand.

Mikor azt mondom a gonosznak: gonosz, meg kell halnod, és nem beszéltél, hogy elintsed a gonoszt útjától, ő, a gonosz bűnében fog meghalni, de vérét kezedtől fogom követelni.

9 Neuerthelesse, If thou warne the wicked of his way, to turne from it, if he doe not turne from his way, he shall die for his iniquitie, but thou hast deliuered thy soule.

De midőn te elintetted a gonoszt útjától, hogy megtérjen tőle, de nem tért meg útjától, ő bűnében fog meghalni, te pedig megmentetted lelkedet.

10 Therefore, O thou sonne of man, speake vnto the house of Israel, Thus yee speake and say, If our transgressions and our sinnes bee vpon vs, and we are consumed because of them, howe should we then liue?

Te pedig, ember fia, szólj Izraél házához: Így szóltatok, mondván: bizony bűntetteink és vétkeink rajtunk vannak és általuk sínylünk mi el, hát hogyan élhetünk?

11 Say vnto them, As I liue, sayeth the Lord God, I desire not the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turne from his way and liue: turne you, turne you from your euill waies, for why will ye die, O ye house of Israel?

Szólj hozzájuk: Ahogy élek, úgy mond az Úr, az Örökkévaló, nem kívánom a gonosznak halálát, hanem azt, hogy a gonosz megtérjen útjától és éljen. Térjetek, térjetek meg rossz útjaitoktól, miért halnátok meg, Izraél háza?

12 Therefore thou sonne of man, saye vnto the children of thy people, The righteousnesse of the righteous shall not deliuer him in the day of his transgression, nor the wickednesse of the wicked shall cause him to fall therein, in the day that he returneth from his wickednesse, neither shall the righteous liue for his righteousnesse in the day that he sinneth.

Te pedig, ember fia, szólj néped fiaihoz: Az igaznak igazsága nem fogja őt megmenteni, a mely napon bűntettet követ el, és a gonosznak gonoszsága – nem fog abban megbotlani, a mely napon megtér gonoszságától; az igaz pedig nem bír élni az által, a mely napon vétkezik.

13 When I shall say vnto the righteous, that he shall surely liue, if he trust to his owne righteousnes, and commit iniquitie, all his righteousnes shall be no more remembred, but for his iniquitie that he hath committed, he shall die for the same.

Mikor azt mondom az igazról: élni fog és ő bízik igazságában és jogtalanságot cselekszik, mind az igazságai nem tartatnak emlékezetben és jogtalansága miatt, melyet cselekedett, azért fog meghalni.

14 Againe when I shall say vnto the wicked, thou shalt die the death, if he turne from his sinne, and doe that which is lawfull and right,

És mikor azt mondom a gonosznak: meg kell halnod, és megtér vétkétől és cselekszik jogot és igazságot:

15 To wit, if the wicked restore the pledge, and giue againe that he had robbed, and walke in the statutes of life, without committing iniquitie, he shall surely liue, and not die.

zálogot visszaad, a gonosz elraboltat megfizet, az élet törvényei szerint jár, nem cselekedve jogtalanságot: élni fog, nem hal meg.

16 None of his sinnes that he hath comitted, shall be mentioned vnto him: because he hath done that, which is lawful, and right, he shall surely liue.

Mind az ő vétkei, melyekkel vétkezett, nem tartatnak számára emlékezetben, jogot és igazságot cselekedett, élni fog.

17 Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equall: but their owne way is vnequall.

De azt mondják néped fiai: nem megfelelő az Úrnak útja, holott az ő útjuk nem megfelelő.

18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousnesse, and committeth iniquitie, he shall euen die thereby.

Mikor eltér az igaz az ő igazságától és jogtalanságot cselekedett, ezért meghal.

19 But if the wicked returne from his wickednesse, and doe that which is lawfull and right, hee shall liue thereby.

S midőn megtér a gonosz az ő gonoszságától és jogot és igazságot cselekszik, azok által élni fog.

20 Yet yee say, The way of the Lord is not equall. O ye house of Israel, I will iudge you euery one after his waies.

De ti mondjátok: nem megfelelő az Úr útja, kit-kit útjai szerint ítéllek meg benneteket, Izraél háza.

21 Also in the twelfth yere of our captiuitie, in the tenth moneth, and in the fift day of the moneth, one that had escaped out of Ierusalem, came vnto me, and said, The citie is smitten.

És volt tizenkettedik évében – a tizedik hóban, a hónap ötödikén – számkivetésünknek, jött hozzám a menekülő Jeruzsálemből, mondván: Megveretett a város.

22 Now the hand of the Lord had bene vpon me in ye euening afore hee that had escaped, came, and had opened my mouth vntill he came to me in the morning: and when hee had opened my mouth, I was no more dumme.

És az Örökkévaló keze volt rajtam este, a menekülőnek megérkezte előtt és megnyitotta számat, míg hozzám jött reggel: akkorra megnyilt a szájam és nem némultam el többé.

23 Againe the worde of the Lord came vnto me, and saide,

És lett hozzám az Örökkévaló igéje, mondván:

24 Sonne of man, these that dwel in the desolate places of the land of Israel, talke and say, Abraham was but one, and hee possessed the lande: but we are many, therefore the lande shall be giuen vs in possession.

Ember fia, a romok lakói Izraél földjén azt mondják, mondván: egy volt Ábrahám és birtokul kapta az országot; mi pedig sokan vagyunk, nekünk adatott az ország birtokul!

25 Wherefore say vnto them, Thus saieth the Lord God, Ye eate with the blood, and lift vp your eyes towarde your idoles, and sheade blood: should ye then possesse the land?

Azért szólj hozzájuk: Így szól az Úr, az Örökkévaló: vér mellett esztek és szemeiteket felemelitek bálványaitokhoz és vért ontotok és az országot birtokul kapni akarjátok?

26 Ye leane vpon your swordes: ye worke abomination, and yee defile euery one his neighbours wife: should ye then possesse the land?

Kardotok mellett álltatok, undokságot cselekedtetek, és ki-ki felebarátja feleségét megfertőztettétek és az országot birtokul kapni akarjátok?

27 Say thus vnto them, Thus saieth the Lord God, As I liue, so surely they that are in the desolate places, shall fall by the sword: and him that is in the open field, will I giue vnto the beasts to be deuoured: and they that be in the forts and in the caues, shall die of the pestilence.

Így szólj hozzájuk: Így szól az Úr, az Örökkévaló: Ahogy élek, bizony, a kik a romokban vannak, kard által esnek el és a ki a mező színén van, azt a vadnak adom, hogy megegye, és a kik a hegyvárakban és barlangokban vannak, dögvész által halnak meg.

28 For I will lay the land desolate and waste, and the pompe of her strength shall cease: and the moutaines of Israel shalbe desolate, and none shall passe through.

És teszem az országot pusztulássá és pusztasággá és megszűnik hatalmának büszkesége; és elpusztulnak Izraél hegyei, úgy hogy nem járnak ott.

29 Then shall they know that I am the Lord, when I haue laid ye land desolate and wast, because of al their abominations, that they haue committed.

És megtudják, hogy én vagyok az Örökkévaló, mikor az országot pusztulássá és pusztasággá teszem, mind az ő utálatosságaik miatt, melyeket elkövettek.

30 Also thou sonne of man, the children of thy people that talke of thee by the wals and in the dores of houses, and speake one to another, euery one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and heare what is the word that commeth from the Lord.

Te pedig, ember fia, néped fiai, akik beszélgetnek rólad a falak mellett és a házak bejáratainál; beszél egyik a másikkal, kiki a testvérével, mondván: jertek csak és halljátok, mi az az ige, mely kijött az Örökkévalótól.

31 For they come vnto thee, as the people vseth to come: and my people sit before thee, and heare thy wordes, but they will not doe them: for with their mouthes they make iestes, and their heart goeth after their couetousnesse.

És bemennek hozzád, mint szokott bemenni a nép, és ülnek előtted a népembeliek és hallják szavaidat, de nem cselekszik meg azokat, hanem szerelmi dal van a szájukban, ez az, amit tesznek, nyereségük után jár szivök.

32 And loe, thou art vnto them, as a iesting song of one that hath a pleasant voyce, and can sing well: for they heare thy woordes, but they doe them not.

És íme olyan vagy nekik, mint szerelmi dal, szép hangú és jól hárfázó; hallják szavaidat, de nem cselekszik meg azokat.

33 And when this commeth to passe (for loe, it will come) then shall they know, that a Prophet hath bene among them.

De midőn az bekövetkezik – íme bekövetkezik – akkor megtudják, hogy próféta volt közöttük.
