Ezekiel 19

1 Thou also, take vp a lamentation for the princes of Israel,

Du aber stimme ein Klagelied an über die Fürsten Israels

2 And say, Wherefore lay thy mother as a lyonesse among the lyons? she nourished her yong ones among the lyons whelps,

und sprich: was war doch deine Mutter für eine Löwin unter Leuen; inmitten junger Löwen lagerte sie, zog sie ihre Jungen groß.

3 And she brought vp one of her whelps, and it became a lyon, and it learned to catch the praye, and it deuoured men.

Und sie brachte eins von ihren Jungen auf; das ward ein junger Löwe und er lernte Beute machen, Menschen fraß er.

4 The nations also heard of him, and he was taken in their nets, and they brought him in chaines vnto the land of Egypt.

Da erließen Völker ein Aufgebot wider ihn; in ihrer Fallgrube ward er gefangen und sie führten ihn an Nasenringen nach Ägypten.

5 Nowe when she sawe, that she had waited and her hope was lost, she tooke another of her whelps, and made him a lyon.

Und da sie sah, daß sie getäuscht, ihre Hoffnung verloren war, nahm sie ein anderes von ihren Jungen; zum jungen Löwen machte sie es.

6 Which went among the lyons, and became a lyon, and learned to catch the praye, and he deuoured men.

Und er wandelte einher unter Löwen; ein junger Löwe wurde er, und er lernte Beute machen, Menschen fraß er.

7 And he knew their widowes, and he destroyed their cities, and the land was wasted, and all that was therein by the noyse of his roaring.

Und er machte viele unter ihnen zu Witwen und verheerte ihre Städte, so daß das Land und was es füllte, verödete, infolge seines lauten Gebrülls.

8 Then the nations set against him on euery side of the countreys, and laide their nets for him: so he was taken in their pit.

Doch es stellten sich Völker gegen ihn auf rings von den Landschaften her und breiteten ihr Netz über ihn aus; in ihrer Fallgrube wurde er gefangen.

9 And they put him in prison and in chaines, and brought him to the King of Babel, and they put him in holdes, that his voyce should no more be heard vpon the mountaines of Israel.

Und sie zogen ihn an Nasenringen in einen Käfig und brachten ihn zum Könige von Babel, schafften ihn in festes Gewahrsam, damit seine Stimme nicht mehr gehört werde auf den Bergen Israels.

10 Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters: she brought foorth fruite and branches by the abundant waters,

Deine Mutter war wie ein Weinstock an Wasser gepflanzt; fruchtreich ward er und voller Zweige vom reichlichen Wasser.

11 And she had strong rods for the scepters of them that beare rule, and her stature was exalted among the branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.

Und einer seiner Zweige ward ein Herrscherstab; der wuchs hoch empor zwischen dichten Zweigen und fiel auf durch seine Höhe bei der Menge seiner Ranken.

12 But she was plucked vp in wrath: she was cast downe to the ground, and the East winde dried vp her fruite: her branches were broken, and withered: as for the rod of her strength, the fire consumed it.

Da wurde der Weinstock im Grimm ausgerissen, zu Boden geworfen, und der Ostwind dörrte seine Frucht aus. Abgerissen ward sein mächtiger Zweig und verdorrte; Feuer verzehrte ihn.

13 And now she is planted in the wildernes in a drie and thirstie ground.

Und jetzt ist er eingepflanzt in die Wüste, in dürres und lechzendes Land.

14 And fire is gone out of a rod of her branches, which hath deuoured her fruite, so that she hath no strong rod to be a scepter to rule: this is a lamentation and shalbe for a lamentation.

Und es ging Feuer aus vom Zweige, das verzehrte seine Ranken, und es blieb an ihm kein mächtiger Zweig mehr, kein Herrscherstab. Ein Klagelied ist dies und ward zum Klagelied.
