Exodus 8
1 Afterward the Lord sayde vnto Moses, Goe vnto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith the Lord, Let my people goe, that they may serue me:
Après cela l'Eternel dit à Moïse: va vers Pharaon, et lui dis: ainsi a dit l'Eternel: laisse aller mon peuple, afin qu'ils me servent.
2 And if thou wilt not let them goe, beholde, I will smite all thy countrey with frogges:
Que si tu refuses de le laisser aller, voici, je m'en vais frapper de grenouilles toutes tes contrées.
3 And the riuer shall scral ful of frogges, which shall goe vp and come into thine house, and into thy chamber, where thou sleepest, and vpon thy bed, and into the house of thy seruants, and vpon thy people, and into thine ouens, and into thy kneading troughes.
Et le fleuve fourmillera de grenouilles, qui monteront et entreront dans ta maison, et dans la chambre où tu couches, et sur ton lit, et dans la maison de tes serviteurs, et parmi tout ton peuple, dans tes fours, et dans tes maies.
4 Yea, the frogges shall climbe vp vpon thee, and on thy people, and vpon all thy seruants.
Ainsi les grenouilles monteront sur toi, sur ton peuple, et sur tous tes serviteurs.
5 Also the Lord said vnto Moses, Say thou vnto Aaron, Stretch out thine hande with thy rod vpon the streames, vpon the riuers, and vpon the ponds, and cause frogs to come vp vpon the land of Egypt.
L'Eternel donc dit à Moïse: dis à Aaron: étends ta main avec ta verge sur les fleuves, sur les rivières, et sur les marais, et fais monter les grenouilles sur le pays d'Egypte.
6 Then Aaron stretched out his hand vpon the waters of Egypt, and the frogges came vp, and couered the land of Egypt.
Et Aaron étendit sa main sur les eaux de l'Egypte, et les grenouilles montèrent, et couvrirent le pays d'Egypte.
7 And the sorcerers did likewise with their sorceries, and brought frogges vp vpon the land of Egypt.
Mais les magiciens firent de même par leurs enchantements, et firent monter des grenouilles sur le pays d'Egypte.
8 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Pray ye vnto the Lord, that hee may take away the frogges from mee, and from my people, and I will let the people goe, that they may doe sacrifice vnto the Lord.
Alors Pharaon appela Moïse et Aaron, et leur dit: fléchissez l'Eternel par [vos] prières, afin qu'il retire les grenouilles de dessus moi et de dessus mon peuple; et je laisserai aller le peuple, afin qu'ils sacrifient à l'Eternel.
9 And Moses said vnto Pharaoh, Concerning me, euen command when I shall pray for thee, and for thy seruants, and for thy people, to destroy the frogges from thee and from thine houses, that they may remaine in the riuer only.
Et Moïse dit à Pharaon: glorifie-toi sur moi. Pour quel temps fléchirai-je par mes prières [l'Eternel] pour toi et pour tes serviteurs, et pour ton peuple, afin qu'il chasse les grenouilles loin de toi, et de tes maisons? Il en demeurera seulement dans le fleuve.
10 Then he said, To morowe. And he answered, Be it as thou hast said, that thou maiest know, that there is none like vnto the Lord our God.
Alors il répondit: pour demain. Et [Moïse] dit: [il sera fait] selon ta parole, afin que tu saches qu'il n'y a nul [Dieu] tel que l'Eternel notre Dieu.
11 So the frogges shall depart from thee, and from thine houses, and from thy seruantes, and from thy people: onely they shall remaine in the riuer.
Les grenouilles donc se retireront de toi, et de tes maisons, et de tes serviteurs, et de ton peuple; il en demeurera seulement dans le fleuve.
12 Then Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh: and Moses cryed vnto the Lord concerning the frogges, which hee had sent vnto Pharaoh.
Alors Moïse et Aaron sortirent d'avec Pharaon; et Moïse cria à l'Eternel au sujet des grenouilles qu'il avait fait venir sur Pharaon.
13 And the Lord did according to the saying of Moses: so the frogges died in the houses, in the townes, and in the fieldes.
Et l'Eternel fit selon la parole de Moïse. Ainsi les grenouilles moururent; et il n'y en eut plus dans les maisons, ni dans les villages, ni à la campagne.
14 And they gathered the together by heaps, and the land stanke of them.
Et on les amassa par monceaux, et la terre en fut infectée.
15 But when Pharaoh sawe that hee had rest giuen him, he hardened his heart, and hearkened not vnto them, as the Lord had said.
Mais Pharaon voyant qu'il avait du relâche, endurcit son cœur, et ne les écouta point, selon que l'Eternel [en] avait parlé.
16 Againe the Lord sayd vnto Moses, Say vnto Aaron, Stretche out the rod, and smite the dust of the earth, that it may bee turned to lyce throughout all the land of Egypt.
Et l'Eternel dit à Moïse: dis à Aaron: étends ta verge, et frappe la poussière de la terre, et elle deviendra des poux par tout le pays d'Egypte.
17 And they did so: for Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth: and lyce came vpon man and vpon beast: all the dust of the earth was lyce throughout all the land of Egypt.
Et ils firent ainsi. Et Aaron étendit sa main avec sa verge, et frappa la poussière de la terre, et elle devint des poux, sur les hommes, et sur les bêtes; toute la poussière du pays devint des poux en tout le pays d'Egypte.
18 Nowe the enchanters assaied likewise with their enchantments to bring forth lyce, but they could not. So the lyce were vpon man and vpon beast.
Et les magiciens voulurent faire de même par leurs enchantements, pour produire des poux, mais ils ne purent. Les poux furent donc tant sur les hommes que sur les bêtes.
19 Then saide the enchanters vnto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God. But Pharaohs heart remained obstinate, and hee hearkened not vnto them, as the Lord had said.
Alors les magiciens dirent à Pharaon: c'est ici le doigt de Dieu. Toutefois le cœur de Pharaon s'endurcit et il ne les écouta point, selon que l'Eternel [en] avait parlé.
20 Moreouer the Lord sayd to Moses, Rise vp earely in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh (lo, hee will come forth vnto the water) and say vnto him, Thus saith the Lord, Let my people go, that they may serue me.
Puis l'Eternel dit à Moïse: lève-toi de bon matin, et te présente devant Pharaon; voici, il sortira vers l'eau, et tu lui diras: ainsi a dit l'Eternel: laisse aller mon peuple, afin qu'ils me servent.
21 Els, if thou wilt not let my people goe, behold, I will send swarmes of flies both vpon thee, and vpon thy seruants, and vpon thy people, and into thine houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shalbe full of swarmes of flies, and the ground also whereon they are.
Car si tu ne laisses pas aller mon peuple, voici, je m'en vais envoyer contre toi, contre tes serviteurs, contre ton peuple, et contre tes maisons, un mélange d'insectes; et les maisons des Egyptiens seront remplies de ce mélange, et la terre aussi sur laquelle ils seront.
22 But ye land of Goshe, where my people are, wil I cause to be wonderfull in that day, so that no swarmes of flies shalbe there, that thou maiest know that I am the Lord in the middes of the earth.
Mais je distinguerai en ce jour-là le pays de Goscen, où se tient mon peuple, tellement qu'il n'y aura nul mélange d'insectes, afin que tu saches que je [suis] l'Eternel au milieu de la terre.
23 And I will make a deliuerance of my people from thy people: to morowe shall this miracle be.
Et je mettrai de la différence entre ton peuple et mon peuple; demain ce signe-là se fera.
24 And the Lord did so: for there came great swarmes of flies into the house of Pharaoh, and into his seruants houses, so that through all the lande of Egypt, the earth was corrupt by the swarmes of flies.
Et l'Eternel [le] fit ainsi; et un grand mélange d'insectes entra dans la maison de Pharaon, et dans chaque maison de ses serviteurs, et dans tout le pays d'Egypte, [de sorte que] la terre fut gâtée par ce mélange.
25 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and saide, Goe, doe sacrifice vnto your God in this lande.
Et Pharaon appela Moïse et Aaron, et [leur] dit: allez, sacrifiez à votre Dieu dans ce pays.
26 But Moses answered, It is not meete to do so: for then we shoulde offer vnto the Lord our God that, which is an abomination vnto the Egyptians. Loe, can we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and they not stone vs?
Mais Moïse dit: il n'est pas à propos de faire ainsi; car nous sacrifierions à l'Eternel notre Dieu l'abomination des Egyptiens. Voici, si nous sacrifions l'abomination des Égyptiens devant leurs yeux, ne nous lapideraient-ils pas?
27 Let vs go three dayes iourney in the desert, and sacrifice vnto the Lord our God, as he hath commanded vs.
Nous irons le chemin de trois jours au désert, et nous sacrifierons à l'Eternel notre Dieu, comme il nous dira.
28 And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice vnto the Lord your God in the wildernesse: but goe not farre away, pray for me.
Alors Pharaon dit: je vous laisserai aller pour sacrifier dans le désert à l'Eternel votre Dieu; toutefois vous ne vous éloignerez nullement en vous en allant. Fléchissez [l'Eternel] pour moi par vos prières.
29 And Moses said, Behold, I will go out from thee, and pray vnto the Lord, that the swarmes of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his seruants, and from his people to morowe: but let Pharaoh from hencefoorth deceiue no more, in not suffering the people to sacrifice vnto the Lord.
Et Moïse dit: voici, je sors d'avec toi, et je fléchirai par prières l'Eternel, afin que le mélange d'insectes se retire demain de Pharaon, de ses serviteurs, et de son peuple. Mais que Pharaon ne continue point à se moquer, en ne laissant point aller le peuple pour sacrifier à l'Eternel.
30 So Moses went out from Pharaoh and prayed vnto the Lord.
Alors Moïse sortit d'avec Pharaon, et fléchit l'Eternel par prières.
31 And the Lord did according to the saying of Moses, and the swarmes of flies departed from Pharaoh, from his seruants, and from his people, and there remained not one.
Et l'Eternel fit selon la parole de Moïse; et le mélange d'insectes se retira de Pharaon, et de ses serviteurs, et de son peuple; il ne resta pas un seul [insecte].
32 Yet Pharaoh hardened his heart at this time also, and did not let the people goe.
Mais Pharaon endurcit son cœur encore cette fois, et ne laissa point aller le peuple.
