Exodus 28

1 And cause thou thy brother Aaron to come vnto thee and his sonnes with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may serue me in the Priestes office: I meane Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar Aarons sonnes.

«برادر خود هارون و پسرانش ناداب، ابیهو، العازار و ایتامار را از سایر مردم اسرائیل جدا کرده، به مقام کاهنی تعیین کن تا مرا خدمت کنند.

2 Also thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, glorious and beautifull.

لباسهای مخصوصی برای هارون تهیه کن تا معلوم باشد که او برای خدمت من جدا شده است. لباسهای او زیبا و برازندهٔ کار مقدّس او باشد.

3 Therefore thou shalt speake vnto al cunning men, whome I haue filled with the spirite of wisedome, that they make Aarons garments to consecrate him, that he may serue me in the Priestes office.

به کسانی که استعداد و مهارت دوزندگی داده‌ام دستور بده لباسهای هارون را تهیه کنند لباسهایی که با لباسهای سایر مردم فرق داشته باشد و معلوم شود که او در مقام کاهنی به من خدمت می‌کند.

4 Nowe these shall be the garments, which they shall make, a brest plate, and an Ephod, and a robe, and a broydred coate, a miter, and a girdle. so these holy garments shall they make for Aaron thy brother, and for his sonnes, that he may serue me in the Priests office.

لباسهایی که باید دوخته شوند اینها هستند: سینه‌پوش، ایفود، ردا، پیراهن نقشدار، دستار و شال کمر. برای برادرت هارون و پسرانش هم باید از همین لباسها دوخت تا بتوانند در مقام کاهنی به من خدمت کنند.

5 Therefore they shall take golde, and blew silke, and purple, and skarlet, and fine linnen,

پس طلا و نخهای آبی، ارغوانی و قرمز، و نیز کتان ریزبافت به آنها بده.

6 And they shall make the Ephod of gold, blewe silke, and purple, skarlet, and fine twined linen of broydred worke.

«صنعتگران باید ایفود را از کتان ریزبافت تابیده تهیه کرده، آن را ماهرانه با طلا، نخهای آبی، ارغوانی و قرمز گلدوزی کنند.

7 The two shoulders thereof shalbe ioyned together by their two edges: so shall it be closed.

«این جلیقهٔ بلند از دو قسمت، جلو و پشت، که روی شانه‌ها با دو بند به هم می‌پیوندند، تشکیل شود.

8 And the embroydred garde of the same Ephod, which shalbe vpon him, shall be of the selfe same worke and stuffe, euen of golde, blewe silke, and purple, and skarlet, and fine twined linen.

بند کمر ایفود هم باید متصل به آن و از جنس خودش باشد، یعنی از رشته‌های طلا و کتان تابیده ریز‌بافت و نخهای آبی، ارغوانی و قرمز.

9 And thou shalt take two onix stones, and graue vpon them the names of the children of Israel:

«دو سنگ جزع تهیه کن و نامهای دوازده قبیلهٔ بنی‌اسرائیل را روی آنها حک کن.

10 Sixe names of them vpon the one stone, and the sixe names that remaine, vpon the seconde stone, according to their generations.

یعنی روی هر سنگ شش نام به ترتیب سن آنها.

11 Thou shalt cause to graue the two stones according to the names of the children of Israel by a grauer of signets, that worketh and graueth in stone, and shalt make them to be set and embossed in golde.

مثل یک خاتم‌کار و حکاک ماهر نامها را روی سنگها حک کن و آنها را در قابهای طلا بگذار.

12 And thou shalt put the two stones vpon the shoulders of the Ephod, as stones of remebrance of the children of Israel: for Aaron shall beare their names before the Lord vpon his two shoulders for a remembrance.

سپس آنها را روی شانه‌های ایفود نصب کن تا بدین ترتیب هارون نامهای قبایل بنی‌اسرائیل را به حضور من بیاورد و من به یاد آنها باشم.

13 So thou shalt make bosses of golde,

همچنین قابهای طلایی بساز

14 And two cheynes of fine golde at the ende, of wrethed worke shalt thou make them, and shalt fasten the wrethed cheynes vpon the bosses.

و دو زنجیر تابیده از طلای خالص درست کن و آنها را به قابهای طلایی که روی شانه‌های ایفود است وصل کن.

15 Also thou shalt make the brest plate of iudgement with broydred worke: like the worke of the Ephod shalt thou make it: of gold, blewe silke, and purple, and skarlet, and fine twined linen shalt thou make it.

«برای کاهن یک سینه‌پوش جهت پی بردن به خواست خداوند درست کن. آن را مانند ایفود از کتان ریز‌بافت تابیده، نخهای آبی، ارغوانی و قرمز و رشته‌های طلا بساز و روی آن را با دقت گلدوزی کن.

16 Foure square it shall be and double, an hand bredth long and an hand bredth broade.

این سینه‌پوش باید دولا و مثل یک کیسه چهارگوش به ضلع یک وجب باشد.

17 Then thou shalt set it full of places for stones, euen foure rowes of stones: the order shalbe this, a rubie, a topaze, and a carbuncle in the first rowe.

چهار ردیف سنگ قیمتی روی آن نصب کن. ردیف اول عقیق سرخ، یاقوت زرد و یاقوت آتشی باشد.

18 And in the seconde rowe thou shalt set an emeraude, a saphir, and a diamonde.

ردیف دوم زمرد، یاقوت کبود و الماس.

19 And in the third rowe a turkeis, an achate, and an hematite.

ردیف سوم فیروزه، عقیق یمانی و یاقوت بنفش.

20 And in the fourth rowe a chrysolite, an onix, and a iasper: and they shall be set in golde in their embossements.

ردیف چهارم زبرجد، جزع و یشم. همهٔ آنها باید قابهای طلا داشته باشند.

21 And the stones shall be according to the names of the children of Israel, twelue, according to their names, grauen as signets, euerye one after his name, and they shall bee for the twelue tribes.

هر یک از این سنگها علامت یکی از دوازده قبیلهٔ بنی‌اسرائیل خواهد بود و نام آن قبیله روی آن سنگ حک خواهد شد.

22 Then thou shalt make vpon the breast plate two cheines at the endes of wrethen worke of pure golde.

«برای وصل کردن سینه‌پوش به ایفود، زنجیرهایی تابیده از طلای خالص درست کن.

23 Thou shalt make also vpon the brest plate two rings of golde, and put the two rings on the two endes of the brest plate.

سپس دو حلقۀ طلایی بساز و آنها را بر دو گوشۀ سینه‌پوش بگذار.

24 And thou shalt put the two wrethen chaynes of golde in the two rings in the endes of the brest plate.

دو زنجیر را در حلقه‌های دو گوشۀ سینه‌پوش بگذار،

25 And the other two endes of the two wrethen cheines, thou shalt fasten in ye two embossements, and shalt put them vpon the shoulders of the Ephod on the foreside of it.

و دو سر دیگر زنجیرها را از جلو به قابهای طلای روی شانه‌ها وصل کن.

26 Also thou shalt make two rings of gold, which thou shalt put in the two other endes of the brest plate, vpon the border thereof, towarde the inside of the Ephod.

دو حلقهٔ طلای دیگر نیز درست کن و آنها را به دو گوشهٔ پایینی سینه‌پوش، روی لایهٔ زیرین، ببند.

27 And two other rings of golde thou shalt make, and put them on the two sides of the Ephod, beneath in the forepart of it ouer against the coupling of it vpon the broydred garde of the Ephod.

دو حلقهٔ طلای دیگر هم درست کن و آنها را در قسمت جلوی ایفود و کمی بالاتر از بند کمر نصب کن.

28 Thus they shall binde the brest plate by his rings vnto the rings of the Ephod, with a lace of blewe silke, that it may be fast vpon the broydred garde of the Ephod, and that the brest plate be not loosed from the Ephod.

بعد حلقه‌های سینه‌پوش را با نوار آبی رنگ به حلقه‌های ایفود که بالاتر از بند کمر قرار دارد ببند تا سینه‌پوش از ایفود جدا نشود.

29 So Aaron shall beare the names of the children of Israel in the brest plate of iudgement vpon his heart, when he goeth into the holy place, for a remembrance continually before the Lord.

«به این ترتیب وقتی هارون به قدس وارد می‌شود، نامهای تمام قبایل بنی‌اسرائیل را که روی سینه‌پوش کنده شده، با خود حمل خواهد کرد تا به این وسیله قوم همیشه در نظر خداوند باشند.

30 Also thou shalt put in the brest plate of iudgement the Vrim and the Thummim, which shalbe vpon Aarons heart, when he goeth in before the Lord: and Aaron shall beare the iudgement of the children of Israel vpon his heart before the Lord continually.

اوریم و تُمّیم را داخل سینه‌پوش بگذار تا وقتی هارون به حضور من می‌آید آنها همیشه روی قلب او باشند و او بتواند خواست مرا در مورد قوم اسرائیل دریابد.

31 And thou shalt make the robe of the Ephod altogether of blewe silke.

«ردایی که زیر ایفود است باید از پارچهٔ آبی باشد.

32 And the hole for his head shalbe in the middes of it, hauing an edge of wouen woorke rounde about the coller of it: so it shalbe as the coller of an habergeon that it rent not.

شکافی برای سر، در آن باشد. حاشیهٔ این شکاف باید با دست بافته شود تا پاره نگردد.

33 And beneath vpon the skirtes thereof thou shalt make pomegranates of blew silke, and purple, and skarlet, round about the skirts thereof, and belles of gold betweene them round about:

با نخهای آبی، ارغوانی و قرمز، منگوله‌هایی به شکل انار درست کن و دور تا دور لبهٔ دامن ردا بیاویز و زنگوله‌هایی از طلا بین آنها قرار بده.

34 That is, a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate rounde about vpon the skirtes of the robe.

زنگوله‌های طلا و انارها باید یکی در میان، دور تا دور لبۀ دامن ردا باشند.

35 So it shalbe vpon Aaron, when he ministreth, and his sound shalbe heard, when he goeth into the holy place before the Lord, and when he commeth out, and he shall not dye.

هارون در موقع خدمت خداوند باید ردا را بپوشد تا وقتی که به حضور من به قدس وارد می‌شود یا از آن بیرون می‌رود، صدای زنگوله‌ها شنیده شود، مبادا بمیرد.

36 Also thou shalt make a plate of pure golde, and graue thereon, as signets are grauen, Holines To The Lord,

«یک نیم تاج از طلای خالص بساز و این کلمات را مانند مُهر، روی آن حک کن:”مقدّس برای خداوند“.

37 And thou shalt put it on a blew silke lace, and it shalbe vpon the miter: euen vpon the fore front of the miter shall it be.

این نیم تاج را با یک نوار آبی رنگ به دستارِ هارون ببند به‌طوری که در جلوی دستار قرار گیرد.

38 So it shalbe vpon Aarons forehead, that Aaron may beare the iniquitie of the offrings, which the children of Israel shall offer in all their holy offrings: and it shall be alwayes vpon his forehead, to make them acceptable before the Lord.

این نیم تاج باید بر پیشانی هارون باشد تا او بار هر خطایی را که ممکن است بنی‌اسرائیل در حین تقدیم قربانیهای مقدّس انجام دهند، بر خود حمل کند. هارون باید همیشه این نیم تاج را روی پیشانی خود داشته باشد تا آن قربانیها مقبول خداوند واقع شوند.

39 Likewise thou shalt embroyder the fine line coat, and thou shalt make a miter of fine line, but thou shalt make a girdell of needle worke.

«پیراهن هارون را از کتان ریزبافت بباف؛ همچنین دستار را. شال کمر گلدوزی شده نیز برای او درست کن.

40 Also thou shalt make for Aarons sonnes coates, and thou shalt make the girdels, and bonets shalt thou make them for glorie and comelinesse.

«برای پسران هارون نیز پیراهن، شال کمر و کلاه تهیه کن. این لباسها باید زیبا و برازنده کار مقدّس ایشان باشند.

41 And thou shalt put them vpon Aaron thy brother, and on his sonnes with him, and shalt anoint them, and fill their handes, and sanctifie them, that they may minister vnto me in the Priestes office.

این لباسها را به هارون و پسرانش بپوشان. با روغن زیتون آنها را مسح کن و ایشان را برای خدمت کاهنی تعیین و تقدیس نما.

42 Thou shalt also make them linen breeches to couer their priuities: from the loynes vnto the thighs shall they reache.

برای پوشاندن برهنگی لگن تا ران ایشان، لباس زیر از جنس کتان بدوز که اندازهٔ آن از کمر تا بالای زانو باشد.

43 And they shalbe for Aaron and his sonnes when they come into the Tabernacle of the Congregation, or whe they come vnto the altar to minister in the holy place, that they commit not iniquitie, and so die. This shalbe a lawe for euer vnto him and to his seede after him.

هارون و پسرانش، وقتی به خیمۀ ملاقات داخل می‌شوند، یا نزدیک مذبح می‌آیند تا در قدس خدمت کنند، باید این لباسها را بپوشند، مبادا متحمل گناه شده، بمیرند. این آیین برای هارون و نسل او یک قانون جاودانی خواهد بود.
