Ephesians 5
1 Bee yee therefore followers of God, as deare children,
So seid nun Gottes Nachfolger als die lieben Kinder!
2 And walke in loue, euen as Christ hath loued vs, and hath giuen himselfe for vs, to be an offering and a sacrifice of a sweete smellling sauour to God.
Und wandelt in der Liebe, gleichwie Christus uns hat geliebet und sich selbst dargegeben für uns zur Gabe und Opfer, Gott zu einem süßen Geruch.
3 But fornication, and all vncleannesse, or couetousnesse, let it not be once named among you, as it becommeth Saintes,
Hurerei aber und alle Unreinigkeit oder Geiz lasset nicht von euch gesagt werden, wie den Heiligen zustehet,
4 Neither filthinesse, neither foolish talking, neither iesting, which are things not comely, but rather giuing of thankes.
auch schandbare Worte und Narrenteidinge oder Scherz, welche euch nicht ziemen, sondern vielmehr Danksagung.
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, neither vncleane person, nor couetous person, which is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdome of Christ, and of God.
Denn das sollt ihr wissen, daß kein Hurer oder Unreiner oder Geiziger (welcher ist ein Götzendiener) Erbe hat an dem Reich Christi und Gottes.
6 Let no man deceiue you with vaine wordes: for, for such thinges commeth the wrath of God vpon the children of disobedience.
Lasset euch niemand verführen mit vergeblichen Worten! Denn um dieser willen kommt der Zorn Gottes über die Kinder des Unglaubens.
7 Be not therefore companions with them.
Darum seid nicht ihre Mitgenossen!
8 For ye were once darkenesse, but are nowe light in the Lord: walke as children of light,
Denn ihr waret weiland Finsternis; nun aber seid ihr ein Licht in, dem HERRN.
9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in al goodnes, and righteousnes, and trueth)
Wandelt wie die Kinder des Lichts! Die Frucht des Geistes ist allerlei Gütigkeit und Gerechtigkeit und Wahrheit.
10 Approuing that which is pleasing to the Lord.
Und prüfet, was da sei wohlgefällig dem HERRN.
11 And haue no fellowship with ye vnfruitfull works of darknes, but euen reproue them rather.
Und habt nicht Gemeinschaft mit den unfruchtbaren Werken der Finsternis; strafet sie aber vielmehr.
12 For it is shame euen to speake of the things which are done of them in secret.
Denn was heimlich von ihnen geschieht, das ist auch schändlich zu sagen.
13 But all thinges when they are reproued of the light, are manifest: for it is light that maketh all things manifest.
Das alles aber wird offenbar, wenn es vom Licht gestraft wird. Denn alles, was offenbar wird, das ist Licht.
14 Wherefore hee sayeth, Awake thou that sleepest, and stande vp from the deade, and Christ shall giue thee light.
Darum spricht er: Wache auf, der du schläfest, und stehe auf von den Toten, so wird dich Christus erleuchten.
15 Take heede therefore that yee walke circumspectly, not as fooles, but as wise,
So sehet nun zu, wie ihr vorsichtiglich wandelt, nicht als die Unweisen, sondern als die Weisen.
16 Redeeming ye season: for ye daies are euill.
Und schicket euch in die Zeit; denn es ist böse Zeit.
17 Wherefore, be ye not vnwise, but vnderstand what the will of the Lord is.
Darum werdet nicht unverständig, sondern verständig, was da sei des HERRN Wille.
18 And be not drunke with wine, wherein is excesse: but be fulfilled with the Spirit,
Und saufet euch nicht voll Weins, daraus ein unordentlich Wesen folget, sondern werdet voll Geistes
19 Speaking vnto your selues in psalmes, and hymnes, and spirituall songs, singing, and making melodie to the Lord in your hearts,
und redet untereinander von Psalmen und Lobgesängen und geistlichen Liedern; singet und spielet dem HERRN in euren Herzen.
20 Giuing thankes alwaies for all thinges vnto God euen the Father, in the Name of our Lord Iesus Christ,
Und saget Dank allezeit für alles Gott und dem Vater in dem Namen unsers HERRN Jesu Christi.
21 Submitting your selues one to another in the feare of God.
Und seid untereinander untertan in der Furcht Gottes.
22 Wiues, submit your selues vnto your husbands, as vnto the Lord.
Die Weiber seien untertan ihren Männern als dem HERRN.
23 For the husband is the wiues head, euen as Christ is the head of the Church, and the same is the sauiour of his body.
Denn der Mann ist des Weibes Haupt, gleichwie auch Christus das Haupt ist der Gemeinde, und er ist seines Leibes Heiland.
24 Therfore as the Church is in subiection to Christ, euen so let the wiues be to their husbands in euery thing.
Aber wie nun die Gemeinde ist Christo untertan, also auch die Weiber ihren Männern in allen Dingen.
25 Husbands, loue your wiues, euen as Christ loued the Church, and gaue himselfe for it,
Ihr Männer, liebet eure Weiber, gleichwie Christus auch geliebet hat die Gemeinde und hat sich selbst für sie gegeben,
26 That hee might sanctifie it, and clense it by the washing of water through the worde,
auf daß er sie heiligte, und hat sie gereiniget durch das Wasserbad im Wort,
27 That hee might make it vnto him selfe a glorious Church, not hauing spot or wrinkle, or any such thing: but that it shoulde bee holy and without blame.
auf daß er sie sich selbst darstellete als eine Gemeinde, die herrlich sei, die nicht habe einen Flecken oder Runzel oder des etwas, sondern daß sie heilig sei und unsträflich.
28 So ought men to loue their wiues, as their owne bodies: he that loueth his wife, loueth him selfe.
Also sollen auch die Männer ihre Weiber lieben als ihre eigenen Leiber. Wer sein Weib liebet, der liebet sich selbst.
29 For no man euer yet hated his owne flesh, but nourisheth and cherisheth it, euen as the Lord doeth the Church.
Denn niemand hat jemals sein eigen Fleisch gehasset, sondern er nähret es und pfleget sein, gleichwie auch der HERR die Gemeinde.
30 For we are members of his bodie, of his flesh, and of his bones.
Denn wir sind Glieder seines Leibes, von seinem Fleisch und von seinem Gebeine.
31 For this cause shall a man leaue father and mother, and shall cleaue to his wife, and they twaine shalbe one flesh.
Um deswillen wird ein Mensch verlassen Vater und Mutter und seinem Weibe anhangen, und werden zwei ein Fleisch sein.
32 This is a great secrete, but I speake concerning Christ, and concerning the Church.
Das Geheimnis ist groß; ich sage aber von Christo und der Gemeinde;
33 Therefore euery one of you, doe ye so: let euery one loue his wife, euen as himselfe, and let the wife see that shee feare her husband.
Doch auch ihr, ja ein jeglicher habe lieb sein Weib als sich selbst; das Weib aber fürchte den Mann.
