Ephesians 2
1 And you hath he quickened, that were dead in trespasses and sinnes,
Fuisteis vivificados cuando estabais muertos en transgresiones y pecados,
2 Wherein, in times past ye walked, according to the course of this world, and after the prince that ruleth in the aire, euen the spirite, that nowe worketh in the children of disobedience, (aiōn g165)
en los cuales anduvisteis en otro tiempo según la corriente de este mundo, conforme al príncipe de la potestad del aire, el espíritu que ahora obra en los hijos de la desobediencia. (aiōn g165)
3 Among whom we also had our conuersation in time past, in the lustes of our flesh, in fulfilling the will of the flesh, and of the minde, and were by nature the children of wrath, as well as others.
También todos nosotros vivimos en otro tiempo en los deseos de nuestra carne, haciendo los deseos de la carne y de la mente, y éramos por naturaleza hijos de la ira, como los demás.
4 But God which is rich in mercie, through his great loue wherewith he loued vs,
Pero Dios, rico en misericordia, por su gran amor con que nos amó,
5 Euen when we were dead by sinnes, hath quickened vs together in Christ, by whose grace ye are saued,
aun cuando estábamos muertos por nuestros delitos, nos dio vida juntamente con Cristo — por gracia habéis sido salvados —
6 And hath raysed vs vp together, and made vs sit together in the heauenly places in Christ Iesus,
y nos resucitó con él, haciéndonos sentar con él en los lugares celestiales en Cristo Jesús,
7 That he might shewe in the ages to come the exceeding riches of his grace, through his kindnesse toward vs in Christ Iesus. (aiōn g165)
para mostrar en los siglos venideros las abundantes riquezas de su gracia en su bondad para con nosotros en Cristo Jesús; (aiōn g165)
8 For by grace are ye saued through faith, and that not of your selues: it is the gift of God,
porque por gracia habéis sido salvados por medio de la fe, y esto no de vosotros mismos; es don de Dios,
9 Not of workes, least any man should boast himselfe.
no por obras, para que nadie se gloríe.
10 For we are his workemanship created in Christ Iesus vnto good workes, which God hath ordeined, that we should walke in them.
Porque somos hechura suya, creados en Cristo Jesús para buenas obras, las cuales Dios preparó de antemano para que anduviéramos en ellas.
11 Wherefore remember that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, and called vncircumcision of them, which are called circumcision in the flesh, made with hands,
Recordad, pues, que en otro tiempo vosotros, los gentiles en la carne, que sois llamados “incircuncisión” por lo que se llama “circuncisión” (en la carne, hecha por las manos),
12 That ye were, I say, at that time without Christ, and were alients from the common wealth of Israel, and were strangers from the couenants of promise, and had no hope, and were without God in the world.
que en aquel tiempo estabais separados de Cristo, alejados de la comunidad de Israel y extraños a los pactos de la promesa, sin esperanza y sin Dios en el mundo.
13 But nowe in Christ Iesus, ye which once were farre off, are made neere by the blood of Christ.
Pero ahora, en Cristo Jesús, vosotros, que en otro tiempo estabais alejados, habéis sido hechos cercanos por la sangre de Cristo.
14 For he is our peace, which hath made of both one, and hath broken the stoppe of the partition wall,
Porque él es nuestra paz, que de ambos hizo uno, derribando la pared intermedia de separación,
15 In abrogating through his flesh the hatred, that is, the Lawe of commandements which standeth in ordinances, for to make of twaine one newe man in himselfe, so making peace,
habiendo abolido en su carne la enemistad, la ley de los mandamientos contenidos en las ordenanzas, para crear en sí mismo un solo hombre nuevo de los dos, haciendo la paz,
16 And that he might reconcile both vnto God in one body by his crosse, and slay hatred thereby,
y reconciliar a ambos en un solo cuerpo con Dios por medio de la cruz, matando por ella la enemistad.
17 And came, and preached peace to you which were afarre off, and to them that were neere.
Vino a predicar la paz a los que estaban lejos y a los que estaban cerca.
18 For through him we both haue an entrance vnto the Father by one Spirit.
Porque por medio de él ambos tenemos acceso al Padre en un solo Espíritu.
19 Nowe therefore ye are no more strangers and forreiners: but citizens with the Saintes, and of the houshold of God,
Así pues, ya no sois extranjeros ni forasteros, sino conciudadanos de los santos y de la familia de Dios,
20 And are built vpon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, Iesus Christ himselfe being the chiefe corner stone,
edificados sobre el fundamento de los apóstoles y profetas, siendo Cristo Jesús mismo la principal piedra del ángulo;
21 In whom all the building coupled together, groweth vnto an holy Temple in the Lord.
en el cual todo el edificio, unido entre sí, va creciendo hasta convertirse en un templo santo en el Señor;
22 In whom ye also are built together to be the habitation of God by the Spirit.
en el cual también vosotros sois edificados juntos para morada de Dios en el Espíritu.
