Deuteronomy 34

1 Then Moses went from the plaine of Moab vp into mount Nebo vnto the top of Pisgah that is ouer against Iericho: and the Lord shewed him all the land of Gilead, vnto Dan,

Alors Moïse monta des campagnes de Moab sur la montagne de Nébo, au sommet de la colline qui est vis-à-vis de Jéricho, et l'Eternel lui fit voir tout le pays, depuis Galaad jusques à Dan,

2 And all Naphtali and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and all the land of Iudah, vnto the vtmost sea:

Avec tout [le pays] de Nephthali, et le pays d'Ephraïm et de Manassé, et tout le pays de Juda, jusqu'à la mer Occidentale;

3 And the South, and the plaine of the valley of Iericho, the citie of palmetrees, vnto Zoar.

Et le Midi, et la campagne de la plaine de Jérico, la ville des palmes; jusqu'à Tsohar.

4 And the Lord said vnto him, This is the lande which I sware vnto Abraham, to Izhak and to Iaacob saying, I will giue it vnto thy seede: I haue caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not goe ouer thither.

Et l'Eternel lui dit: C'est ici le pays dont j'ai juré à Abraham, à Isaac, et à Jacob, en disant: Je le donnerai à ta postérité; je te l'ai fait voir de tes yeux; mais tu n'y entreras point.

5 So Moses the seruant of the Lord dyed there in the land of Moab, according to the worde of the Lord.

Ainsi Moïse, serviteur de l'Eternel, mourut là au pays de Moab, selon le commandement de l'Eternel.

6 And hee buried him in a valley in the land of Moab ouer against Beth-peor, but no man knoweth of his sepulchre vnto this day.

Et il l'ensevelit dans la vallée, au pays de Moab, vis-à-vis de Beth-Péhor; et personne n'a connu son sépulcre jusqu'à aujourd'hui.

7 Moses was nowe an hundreth and twentie yeere olde when hee died, his eye was not dimme, nor his naturall force abated.

Or Moïse était âgé de six vingts ans quand il mourut; sa vue n'était point diminuée, et sa vigueur n'était point passée.

8 And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plaine of Moab thirtie dayes: so the dayes of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended.

Et les enfants d'Israël pleurèrent Moïse trente jours dans les campagnes de Moab, et ainsi les jours des pleurs du deuil de Moïse furent accomplis.

9 And Ioshua the sonne of Nun was full of ye spirit of wisedome: for Moses had put his hands vpon him. And the children of Israel were obedient vnto him, and did as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Et Josué, fils de Nun, fut rempli de l'Esprit de sagesse, parce que Moïse lui avait imposé les mains; et les enfants d'Israël lui obéirent, et firent ainsi que l'Eternel avait commandé à Moïse.

10 But there arose not a Prophet since in Israel like vnto Moses (whome the Lord knew face to face)

Et il ne s'est jamais levé en Israël de Prophète comme Moïse, qui ait connu l'Eternel face à face;

11 In all ye miracles and wonders which ye Lord sent him to do in ye land of Egypt before Pharaoh and before all his seruantes, and before al his land,

Selon tous les signes et les miracles que l'Eternel l'envoya faire au pays d'Egypte, devant Pharaon, et tous ses serviteurs, et tout son pays;

12 And in all that mightie hand and all that great feare, which Moses wrought in the sight of all Israel.

Selon toute cette main forte, et toutes ces grandes œuvres redoutables, que Moïse fit à la vue de tout Israël.
