Deuteronomy 14

1 Ye are the children of the Lord your God. Ye shall not cut yourselues, nor make you any baldnesse betweene your eyes for the dead.

Ihr seid Söhne Jehovahs, eures Gottes, ihr sollt euch keine Einschnitte machen, noch euch zwischen euren Augen kahl machen um eines Toten willen.

2 For thou art an holy people vnto ye Lord thy God, and the Lord hath chosen thee to be a precious people vnto himselfe, aboue all the people that are vpon the earth.

Denn du bist ein heiliges Volk Jehovah, deinem Gott, und dich hat Jehovah erwählt, daß du Ihm ein Volk des Eigentums vor allen Völkern, auf dem Angesichte des Bodens seiest.

3 Thou shalt eate no maner of abomination.

Du sollst nichts essen, das ein Greuel ist.

4 These are the beastes, which ye shall eate, the beefe, the sheepe, and the goate,

Dies ist das Vieh, das du essen darfst: Ochse, Junges der Schafe und Junges der Ziegen.

5 The hart, and the roe buck, and the bugle, and the wilde goate, and the vnicorne, and the wilde oxe, and the chamois.

Hirsch und Reh und Damhirsch, Steinbock und Antilope und Büffelochs und Samer.

6 And euery beast that parteth ye hoofe, and cleaueth the clift into two clawes, and is of the beasts that cheweth the cudde, that shall ye eate.

Und alles Vieh, das durchbrochene Hufe, und in zwei Klauen gespaltene Hufe hat, und wiederkäut unter dem Vieh, das dürfet ihr essen.

7 But these ye shall not eate, of them that chew the cud, and of them that deuide and cleaue the hoofe onely: ye camell, nor the hare, nor the cony: for they chewe the cudde, but deuide not ye hoofe: therefore they shall be vncleane vnto you:

Nur das sollt ihr nicht essen von den Wiederkäuenden und von denen, welche Hufe mit gespaltenen Klauben haben: Das Kamel, den Hasen und das Kaninchen; denn wiederkäuend sind sie, aber sie spalten den Huf nicht. Unrein seien sie euch.

8 Also the swine, because he deuideth the hoofe, and cheweth not the cud, shalbe vncleane vnto you: ye shall not eate of their flesh, nor touch their dead carkeises.

Und das Schwein; denn es spaltet zwar den Huf, ist aber nicht wiederkäuend; unrein sei es euch. Von ihrem Fleisch sollt ihr nicht essen, noch ihr Aas berühren.

9 These ye shall eate, of all that are in the waters: all that haue finnes and scales shall ye eate.

Das dürfet ihr essen von allem, was im Wasser ist: Alles, was Flossen hat und Schuppen, dürfet ihr essen.

10 And whatsoeuer hath no finnes nor scales, ye shall not eate: it shall be vncleane vnto you.

Alles aber, was keine Flossen und Schuppen hat, sollt ihr nicht essen. Es sei euch unrein.

11 Of all cleane birdes ye shall eate:

Alle reine Vögel dürft ihr essen.

12 But these are they, whereof ye shall not eate: the eagle, nor the goshawke, nor the osprey,

Und das sind die von ihnen, so ihr nicht essen sollt: Der Adler und der Seeadler und der Lämmergeier.

13 Nor the glead nor the kite, nor the vulture, after their kind,

Und der Weihe und der Falke und der Geier nach seiner Art.

14 Nor all kinde of rauens,

Und alle Raben nach ihrer Art.

15 Nor the ostrich, nor the nightcrow, nor the semeaw, nor the hawke after her kinde,

Und das Käuzlein und der Strauß und die Möwe und der Habicht nach seiner Art.

16 Neither the litle owle, nor the great owle, nor the redshanke,

Der Uhu, die Eule und die Dohle.

17 Nor the pellicane, nor the swanne, nor the cormorant:

Und der Pelikan und der Aasgeier und der Taucher.

18 The storke also, and the heron in his kinde, nor the lapwing, nor the backe.

Und der Storch und der Reiher nach seiner Art, und der Wiedehopf und die Fledermaus.

19 And euery creeping thing that flieth, shall be vncleane vnto you: it shall not be eaten.

Und alles kriechende Gevögel sei euch unrein. Man darf es nicht essen.

20 But of all cleane foules ye may eate.

Alles reine Gevögel dürft ihr essen.

21 Ye shall eate of nothing that dieth alone, but thou shalt giue it vnto the stranger that is within thy gates, that he may eate it: or thou maiest sell it vnto a stranger: for thou art an holy people vnto the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mothers milke.

Kein Aas sollt ihr essen. Dem Fremdling, der in deinen Toren ist, magst du es geben, daß er es esse, oder verkaufe es einem Auswärtigen; denn du bist ein heiliges Volk Jehovah, deinem Gott. Das Böcklein sollst du nicht in der Milch seiner Mutter kochen.

22 Thou shalt giue the tithe of all the increase of thy seede, that commeth foorth of the fielde yeere by yeere.

Du sollst verzehnten allen Ertrag deiner Saat, das, was aus dem Felde ausgeht Jahr für Jahr.

23 And thou shalt eate before the Lord thy God (in the place which he shall chose to cause his Name to dwell there) the tithe of thy corne, of thy wine, and of thine oyle, and the first borne of thy kine and of thy sheepe, that thou maiest learne to feare the Lord thy God alway.

Und du sollst vor Jehovah, deinem Gott, an dem Ort, den Er erwählen wird, Seinen Namen daselbst wohnen zu lassen, essen den Zehnten deines Korns, deines Mostes und deines Öls, und die Erstlinge deines Rindviehs und deines Kleinviehs, auf daß du lernest Jehovah, deinen Gott, fürchten alle Tage.

24 And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to cary it, because the place is farre from thee, where the Lord thy God shall chose to set his Name, when the Lord thy God shall blesse thee,

Und wenn dir des Weges zu viel ist, daß du es nicht hinzutragen vermagst, weil der Ort, den Jehovah, dein Gott, erwählen wird, Seinen Namen daselbst einzusetzen, zu fern für dich ist, wenn dich Jehovah, dein Gott, gesegnet hat;

25 Then shalt thou make it in money, and take the money in thine hand, and goe vnto the place which the Lord thy God shall chose.

So gib es in Silber und fasse das Silber in deine Hand und gehe an den Ort, den Jehovah, dein Gott, Sich wird erwählen.

26 And thou shalt bestowe the money for whatsoeuer thine heart desireth: whether it be oxe, or sheepe, or wine, or strong drinke, or whatsoeuer thine heart desireth: and shalt eate it there before the Lord thy God, and reioyce, both thou, and thine household.

Und das Silber magst du geben für alles, was deine Seele gelüstet, für Rindvieh und für Kleinvieh, und für Wein und für starkes Getränk, und für alles, nach dem deine Seele verlangt, und sollst essen daselbst vor Jehovah, deinem Gott, und fröhlich sein, du und dein Haus.

27 And the Leuite that is within thy gates, shalt thou not forsake: for he hath neither part nor inheritance with thee.

Und den Leviten, der in deinen Toren ist, ihn sollst du nicht verlassen; denn er hat keinen Teil und kein Erbe mit dir.

28 At the end of three yeere thou shalt bring foorth all the tithes of thine increase of the same yeere, and lay it vp within thy gates.

Am Ende dreier Jahre sollst du herausbringen all den Zehnten deines Ertrages in diesem Jahr und ihn niederlegen in deinen Toren.

29 Then ye Leuite shall come, because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee, and the stranger, and the fatherlesse, and the widowe, which are within thy gates, and shall eate, and be filled, that the Lord thy God may blesse thee in al the worke of thine hand which thou doest.

Und der Levite, weil er kein Teil und Erbe mit dir hat, komme, und der Fremdling, und die Waise und die Witwe, die in deinen Toren sind, und sie sollen essen und satt werden, damit Jehovah, dein Gott, dich segne in allem Tun deiner Hand, das du tust.
