Deuteronomy 11

1 Therefore thou shalt loue the Lord thy God, and shalt keepe that, which he commandeth to be kept: that is, his ordinances, and his lawes, and his commandements alway.

১অতএব তুমি নিজের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুকে প্রেম করবে এবং তাঁর নির্দেশ, তাঁর বিধি, তাঁর শাসন ও তাঁর আজ্ঞা সব সবদিন পালন করবে।

2 And consider this day (for I speake not to your children, which haue neither knowen nor seene) the chastisement of the Lord your God, his greatnesse, his mighty hande, and his stretched out arme,

২কারণ আমি তোমাদের বালকদেরকে বলছি না; তারা তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর শাস্তি (অনুশাসন) জানে না ও দেখেনি; তাঁর মহিমা, তাঁর শক্তিশালী হাত ও ক্ষমতা প্রদর্শন

3 And his signes, and his actes, which hee did in the middes of Egypt vnto Pharaoh the King of Egypt and vnto all his land:

৩এবং তাঁর চিহ্ন সব ও মিশরের মধ্যে মিশরের রাজা ফরৌণের প্রতি ও তাঁর সব দেশের প্রতি তিনি যা যা করলেন, তাঁর সেই সব কাজ

4 And what he did vnto the hoste of the Egyptians, vnto their horses, and to their charets, when he caused the waters of the red Sea to ouerflowe them, as they pursued after you, and the Lord destroied them vnto this day:

৪এবং মিশরীয় সৈন্যের, ঘোড়ার ও রথের প্রতি তিনি যা করলেন, তারা যখন তোমাদের পিছনে তাড়া করল, তিনি যেমনভাবে সূফসাগরের জল তাদের উপরে বহালেন এবং সদাপ্রভু তাদেরকে ধ্বংস করলেন, আজ তারা নেই

5 And what he did vnto you in the wildernesse, vntill yee came vnto this place:

৫এবং এ জায়গায় তোমাদের আসা পর্যন্ত তোমাদের প্রতি তিনি মরুপ্রান্তে যা যা করেছেন;

6 And what he did vnto Dathan and Abiram the sonnes of Eliab ye sonne of Reuben, when the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them with their housholds and their tents, and all their substance that they had in the middes of al Israel.

৬আর তিনি রূবেণের ছেলে ইলীয়াবের ছেলে দাথন ও অবীরামের প্রতি যা যা করেছেন, পৃথিবী যেভাবে নিজের মুখ খুলে সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলের মধ্যে তাদেরকে, তাদের আত্মীয়দেরকে, তাদের তাঁবু ও তাদের অস্তিত্বশীল জিনিস সব গ্রাস করল, এ সব তারা দেখেনি;

7 For your eyes haue seene all the great actes of the Lord which he did.

৭কিন্তু সদাপ্রভুর করা সমস্ত মহান কাজ তোমরা নিজের চোখে দেখেছ।

8 Therefore shall ye keepe all the commandements, which I commaund you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possesse the land whither ye goe to possesse it:

৮অতএব আজ আমি তোমাদেরকে যে সব আজ্ঞা দিচ্ছি, সেই সব আজ্ঞা পালন কর, যেন তোমরা শক্তিশালী হও এবং যে দেশ অধিকার করার জন্য পার হয়ে যাচ্ছ, সেই দেশে প্রবেশ করে তা অধিকার কর;

9 Also that ye may prolong your daies in the land, which the Lord sware vnto your fathers, to giue vnto them and to their seede, euen a lande that floweth with milke and honie.

৯আর যেন সদাপ্রভু তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদেরকে ও তাঁদের বংশকে যে দেশ দিতে শপথ করেছিলেন, সেই দুধ ও মধু প্রবাহী দেশে তোমরা দীর্ঘকাল থাকতে পার।

10 For the land whither thou goest to possesse it, is not as the lande of Egypt, from whence ye came, where thou sowedst thy seede, and wateredst it with thy feete as a garden of herbes:

১০কারণ তোমরা যে দেশ অধিকার করতে যাচ্ছ, এটা মিশর দেশের মতো না, যেখান থেকে তোমরা এসেছ, সেই দেশে তুমি বীজ বুনে শাকের বাগানের মতো পায়ের মাধ্যমে জল সেচন করতে;

11 But the land whither ye goe to possesse it, is a land of mountaines and valleis, and drinketh water of the raine of heauen.

১১তোমরা যে দেশ অধিকার করতে পার হয়ে যাচ্ছ, সে পর্বত ও উপত্যকা বিশিষ্ট দেশ এবং আকাশের বৃষ্টির জল পান করে;

12 This land doth the Lord thy God care for: the eies of the Lord thy God are alwaies vpon it, from the beginning of the yeere, euen vnto the ende of the yeere.

১২সেই দেশের প্রতি তোমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর মনোযোগ আছে; বছরের শুরু থেকে বছরের শেষ পর্যন্ত তাঁর প্রতি সবদিন তোমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর দৃষ্টি থাকে।

13 If yee shall hearken therefore vnto my commandements, which I commaund you this day, that yee loue the Lord your God and serue him with all your heart, and with all your soule,

১৩আর আমি আজ তোমাদেরকে যে সব আজ্ঞা দিচ্ছি, তোমরা যদি যত্নসহকারে তা শুনে তোমাদের সমস্ত হৃদয় ও সমস্ত প্রাণের সঙ্গে তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুকে ভালবাস ও তাঁর সেবা কর,

14 I also wil giue raine vnto your land in due time, the first raine and the latter, that thou maist gather in thy wheat, and thy wine, and thine oyle.

১৪তবে আমি সঠিক দিনের অর্থাৎ প্রথম ও শেষ বর্ষায় তোমাদের দেশে বৃষ্টি দেব, তাতে তুমি নিজের শস্য, আঙ্গুর রস ও তেল সংগ্রহ করতে পারবে।

15 Also I will send grasse in thy fieldes, for thy cattel, that thou maist eate, and haue inough.

১৫আর আমি তোমার পশুদের জন্য তোমার ক্ষেতে ঘাস দেব এবং তুমি খেয়ে তৃপ্তি পাবে।

16 But beware lest your heart deceiue you, and lest yee turne aside, and serue other gods, and worship them,

১৬নিজেদের বিষয়ে সাবধান হও, এই জন্য যে তোমাদের হৃদয় ভ্রান্ত হয় এবং তোমরা পথ ছেড়ে অন্য দেবতাদের সেবা কর ও তাদের কাছে নত হও;

17 And so the anger of the Lord be kindled against you, and he shut vp the heauen, that there be no raine, and that your lande yeelde not her fruit, and yee perish quickly from the good land, which the Lord giueth you.

১৭করলে তোমাদের প্রতি সদাপ্রভুর রাগ প্রজ্বলিত হবে ও তিনি আকাশ বন্ধ করবেন, তাতে বৃষ্টি হবে না ও ভূমি নিজের ফল দেবে না এবং সদাপ্রভু তোমাদেরকে যে দেশ দিচ্ছেন, সেই ভালো দেশ থেকে তোমরা তাড়াতাড়ি ধ্বংস হবে।

18 Therefore shall ye lay vp these my words in your heart and in your soule, and binde them for a signe vpon your hand, that they may be as a frontlet betweene your eyes,

১৮অতএব তোমরা আমার এই সব বাক্য নিজেদের হৃদয়ে ও প্রাণে রেখো এবং চিহ্নরূপে নিজের হাতে বেঁধে রেখো এবং সে সব ভূষণরূপে তোমাদের দুই চোখের মধ্যে থাকবে।

19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them, whe thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest downe, and when thou risest vp.

১৯আর তোমরা বাড়ি বসে থাকার দিনের ও রাস্তায় চলার দিনের এবং শোয়ার ও ঘুম থেকে ওঠার দিনের ঐ সব কথার প্রসঙ্গ করে নিজেদের ছেলেমেয়েদেরকে শিক্ষা দিও।

20 And thou shalt write them vpon the postes of thine house, and vpon thy gates,

২০আর তুমি নিজের বাড়ির দরজার পাশের কাঠে ও নিজের দরজায় তা লিখে রেখো।

21 That your daies may be multiplied, and the daies of your children, in ye land which the Lord sware vnto your fathers to giue them, as long as the heauens are aboue the earth.

২১তাতে সদাপ্রভু তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদেরকে (পিতা) যে জমি দিতে শপথ করেছেন, সেই জমিতে তোমাদের দিন ও তোমাদের সন্তানদের দিন পৃথিবীর উপরে আকাশমণ্ডলের দিনের র মতো বৃদ্ধি পাবে।

22 For if ye keepe diligently all these commandements, which I command you to doe: that is, to loue the Lord your God, to walke in all his waies, and to cleaue vnto him,

২২এই যে সব আদেশ আমি তোমাদেরকে দিচ্ছি, তোমরা যদি যত্নসহকারে তা পালন করে তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুকে ভালবাস, তাঁর সমস্ত রাস্তায় চল ও তাঁতে আসক্ত থাক;

23 Then will the Lord cast out all these nations before you, and ye shall possesse great nations and mightier then you.

২৩তবে সদাপ্রভু তোমাদের সামনে থেকে এই সমস্ত জাতিকে তাড়িয়ে দেবেন এবং তোমরা নিজেদের থেকে বিশাল ও শক্তিশালী জাতিদের উত্তরাধিকারী হবে।

24 All the places whereon the soles of your feete shall tread, shalbe yours: your coast shalbe from the wildernes and from Lebanon, and from the Riuer, euen the riuer Perath, vnto ye vttermost Sea.

২৪তোমাদের পা যে যে জায়গায় পড়বে, সেই সেই জায়গা তোমাদের হবে; মরুভূমি ও লিবানোন থেকে, নদী অর্থাৎ ফরাৎ নদী থেকে পশ্চিমে মহাসমুদ্র পর্যন্ত তোমাদের সীমা হবে।

25 No man shall stande against you: for the Lord your God shall cast the feare and dread of you vpon all the land that ye shall treade vpon, as he hath said vnto you.

২৫তোমাদের সামনে কেউই দাঁড়াতে পারবে না; তোমরা যে দেশে পা দেবে, সেই দেশের সব জায়গায় তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু নিজের কথা অনুসারে তোমাদের থেকে লোকদের ভয় ও ত্রাস উপস্থিত করবেন।

26 Beholde, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse:

২৬দেখ, আজ আমি তোমাদের সামনে আশীর্বাদ ও অভিশাপ রাখলাম।

27 The blessing, if ye obey the commandements of the Lord your God which I command you this day:

২৭আজ আমি তোমাদেরকে যে সব আজ্ঞা জানালাম, তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর সেই সব আজ্ঞাতে যদি কান দাও, তবে আশীর্বাদ পাবে।

28 And ye curse, if ye wil not obey the commandements of the Lord your God, but turne out of the way, which I commande you this day, to go after other gods, which ye haue not knowen.

২৮আর যদি তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর আজ্ঞাতে কান না দাও এবং আমি আজ তোমাদেরকে যে রাস্তার বিষয়ে আজ্ঞা করলাম, যদি সেই রাস্তা ছেড়ে তোমাদের অজানা অন্য দেবতাদের পিছনে যাও, তবে অভিশাপগ্রস্ত হবে।

29 When the Lord thy God therefore hath brought thee into ye lande, whither thou goest to possesse it, then thou shalt put the blessing vpon mount Gerizim, and the curse vpon mount Ebal.

২৯আর তুমি যে দেশ অধিকার করতে যাচ্ছ, সেই দেশে তোমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু যখন তোমাকে প্রবেশ করাবেন, তখন তুমি গরিষীম পর্বতে ঐ আশীর্বাদ এবং এবল পর্বতে ঐ অভিশাপ রাখবে।

30 Are they not beyond Iorden on that part, where the sunne goeth downe in the land of the Canaanites, which dwel in the plaine ouer against Gilgal, beside the groue of Moreh?

৩০সেই দুই পর্বত যর্দ্দনের (নদীর) ওপারে, পশ্চিম দিকের রাস্তার ওদিকে, অরাবা তলভূমিনিবাসী কনানীয়দের দেশে, গিল্‌গলের সামনে, মোরির এলোন বনের কাছে কি না?

31 For yee shall passe ouer Iorden, to goe in to possesse the land, which ye Lord your God giueth you, and ye shall possesse it, and dwell therein.

৩১কারণ তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু তোমাদেরকে যে দেশ দিচ্ছেন, সে দেশ অধিকার করার জন্যে তোমরা সেখানে প্রবেশ করার জন্য যর্দ্দন (নদী) পার হয়ে যাবে, দেশ অধিকার করবে ও সেখানে বাস করবে।

32 Take heede therefore that ye doe all the commandements and the lawes, which I set before you this day.

৩২আর আমি আজ তোমাদের সামনে যে সব বিধি ও শাসন রাখলাম সে সব যত্নসহকারে পালন করবে।
