Colossians 3

1 If yee then bee risen with Christ, seeke those thinges which are aboue, where Christ sitteth at the right hand of God.

Seid ihr nun mit Christus auferweckt, so trachtet nach dem, was droben ist, wo Christus zur Rechten Gottes sitzt;

2 Set your affections on things which are aboue, and not on things which are on the earth.

Trachtet nach dem, was droben ist, und nicht nach dem, was auf Erden ist.

3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Ihr seid ja gestorben, und euer Leben ist mit Christus verborgen in Gott.

4 When Christ which is our life, shall appeare, then shall ye also appeare with him in glory.

Wann Christus, unser Leben, geoffenbart wird, dann werdet ihr auch mit Ihm in Herrlichkeit offenbar werden.

5 Mortifie therefore your members which are on the earth, fornication, vncleannes, the inordinate affection, euill concupiscence, and couetousnes which is idolatrie.

So tötet nun eure Glieder, die da irdisch sind, Hurerei, Unreinheit, Leidenschaft, böse Lust, Habsucht, die Götzendienst sind;

6 For the which things sake ye wrath of God commeth on the children of disobedience.

Um derentwillen der Zorn Gottes über die Kinder des Unglaubens kommt;

7 Wherein ye also walked once, when ye liued in them.

In denen auch ihr einst gewandelt habt, als ihr unter ihnen lebtet.

8 But now put ye away euen all these things, wrath, anger, maliciousnes, cursed speaking, filthie speaking, out of your mouth.

Nun aber legt auch ihr alles ab, Zorn, Unmut, Bosheit, Lästerung, schandbare Worte, die aus eurem Munde gehen.

9 Lie not one to another, seeing that yee haue put off the olde man with his workes,

Belügt einander nicht! Zieht den alten Menschen mit seinen Werken aus;

10 And haue put on the newe, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him,

Und zieht den neuen an, der erneuert wird zur Erkenntnis nach dem Ebenbilde Dessen, Der ihn geschaffen hat;

11 Where is neither Grecian nor Iewe, circumcision nor vncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond, free: But Christ is all, and in all things.

Da gilt nicht Heide, noch Jude, noch Beschneidung, noch Vorhaut, noch Ausländer, Skythe, Knecht, noch Freier, sondern alles und in allen ist Christus.

12 Now therfore as the elect of God holy and beloued, put on the bowels of mercies, kindnesse, humblenesse of minde, meekenesse, long suffering:

So zieht nun an, als Gottes Auserwählte, Heilige und Geliebte, herzliches Erbarmen, Wohlwollen, Demut, Sanftmut und Langmut.

13 Forbearing one another, and forgiuing one another, if any man haue a quarel to another: euen as Christ forgaue, euen so doe ye.

Seid verträglich gegeneinander und haltet einander etwas zugut, wenn einer etwas gegen den anderen zu klagen hat, wie Christus auch euch vieles vergeben hat, so tut auch ihr.

14 And aboue all these thinges put on loue, which is the bond of perfectnes.

Über alles dieses aber

15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which ye are called in one body, and be ye thankfull.

Und Christi Friede herrsche in euren Herzen, wozu ihr auch berufen seid in einem Leib, und seid dankbar dafür.

16 Let the worde of Christ dwell in you plenteously in all wisdome, teaching and admonishing your owne selues, in Psalmes, and hymnes, and spirituall songs, singing with a grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Das Wort Christi wohne reichlich unter euch in aller Weisheit, lehrt und ermahnt einander mit Psalmen, Lobgesängen und geistlichen Liedern und singt in Dankbarkeit dem Herrn in euren Herzen.

17 And whatsoeuer ye shall doe, in worde or deede, doe all in the Name of the Lord Iesus, giuing thankes to God euen the Father by him.

Und alles, was ihr tut in Wort oder Tat, das tut alles im Namen des Herrn Jesus, indem ihr Gott dem Vater durch Ihn dankt.

18 Wiues, submit your selues vnto your husbands, as it is comely in the Lord.

Ihr Weiber, seid untertan euren Männern in dem Herrn, wie es sich gebührt.

19 Husbands, loue your wiues, and be not bitter vnto them.

Ihr Männer, liebt eure Weiber und werdet nicht bitter gegen sie.

20 Children, obey your parents in all thing for that is well pleasing vnto the Lord.

Ihr Kinder, gehorcht in allem euren Eltern, denn dies ist dem Herrn wohlgefällig.

21 Fathers, prouoke not your children to anger, least they be discouraged.

Ihr Väter, reizt eure Kinder nicht, daß sie nicht mutlos werden.

22 Seruants, be obedient vnto them that are your masters according to the flesh, in all things, not with eye seruice as men pleasers, but in singlenes of heart, fearing God.

Ihr Knechte, gehorcht in allen Stücken euren leiblichen Herren, nicht mit Augendienerei, als wolltet ihr Menschen gefallen, sondern in Einfalt des Herzens und aus Gottesfurcht,

23 And whatsoeuer ye doe, doe it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men,

Und alles, was ihr tut, das tut von Herzen, als dem Herrn und nicht den Menschen.

24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receiue the reward of the inheritance: for ye serue the Lord Christ.

Und seid eingedenk, daß ihr von dem Herrn empfangen werdet die Vergeltung des Erbes; denn dem Herrn Christus dient ihr.

25 But he that doeth wrong, shall receiue for the wrong that he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

Wer aber Unrecht tut, der wird empfangen, was er Unrecht getan, und da findet kein Ansehen der Person statt.
