Colossians 1
1 Paul an Apostle of Iesus Christ, by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother,
Paolo, apostolo di Cristo Gesù per volontà di Dio, e il fratello Timoteo,
2 To them which are at Colosse, Saintes and faithfull brethren in Christ: Grace bee with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Iesus Christ.
ai santi e fedeli fratelli in Cristo che sono in Colosse, grazia a voi e pace da Dio nostro Padre.
3 We giue thankes to God euen ye Father of our Lord Iesus Christ, alway praying for you:
Noi rendiamo grazie a Dio, Padre del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, nelle continue preghiere che facciamo per voi,
4 Since wee heard of your faith in Christ Iesus, and of your loue toward all Saintes,
avendo udito parlare della vostra fede in Cristo Gesù e dell’amore che avete per tutti i santi,
5 For the hopes sake, which is laide vp for you in heauen, whereof yee haue heard before by the word of trueth, which is the Gospel,
a motivo della speranza che vi è riposta nei cieli; speranza che avete da tempo conosciuta mediante la predicazione della verità del Vangelo
6 Which is come vnto you, eue as it is vnto al the world, and is fruitful, as it is also amog you, from ye day that ye heard and truely knew ye grace of God,
che è pervenuto sino a voi, come sta portando frutto e crescendo in tutto il mondo nel modo che fa pure tra voi dal giorno che udiste e conosceste la grazia di Dio in verità,
7 As yee also learned of Epaphras our deare fellowe seruaunt, which is for you a faithfull minister of Christ:
secondo quel che avete imparato da Epafra, il nostro caro compagno di servizio, che è fedel ministro di Cristo per voi,
8 Who hath also declared vnto vs your loue in the Spirit.
e che ci ha anche fatto conoscere il vostro amore nello Spirito.
9 For this cause wee also, since the day wee heard of it, cease not to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be fulfilled with knowledge of his will in all wisdome, and spirituall vnderstanding,
Perciò anche noi, dal giorno che abbiamo ciò udito, non cessiamo di pregare per voi, e di domandare che siate ripieni della profonda conoscenza della volontà di Dio in ogni sapienza e intelligenza spirituale,
10 That ye might walke worthy of the Lord, and please him in all things, being fruitefull in all good workes, and increasing in the knowledge of God,
affinché camminiate in modo degno del Signore per piacergli in ogni cosa, portando frutto in ogni opera buona e crescendo nella conoscenza di Dio;
11 Strengthened with all might through his glorious power, vnto all patience, and long suffering with ioyfulnesse,
essendo fortificati in ogni forza secondo la potenza della sua gloria, onde possiate essere in tutto pazienti e longanimi;
12 Giuing thankes vnto the Father, which hath made vs meete to be partakers of the inheritance of the Saintes in light,
e rendendo grazie con allegrezza al Padre che vi ha messi in grado di partecipare alla sorte dei santi nella luce.
13 Who hath deliuered vs from the power of darkenesse, and hath translated vs into the kingdome of his deare Sonne,
Egli ci ha riscossi dalla potestà delle tenebre e ci ha trasportati nel regno del suo amato Figliuolo,
14 In whome we haue redemption through his blood, that is, the forgiuenesse of sinnes,
nel quale abbiamo la redenzione, la remissione dei peccati;
15 Who is the image of the inuisible God, the first begotten of euery creature.
il quale è l’immagine dell’invisibile Iddio, il primogenito d’ogni creatura;
16 For by him were all things created, which are in heauen, and which are in earth, thinges visible and inuisible: whether they be Thrones or Dominions, or Principalities, or Powers, all things were created by him, and for him,
poiché in lui sono state create tutte le cose, che sono nei cieli e sulla terra; le visibili e le invisibili; siano troni, siano signorie, siano principati, siano potestà; tutte le cose sono state create per mezzo di lui e in vista di lui;
17 And hee is before all things, and in him all things consist.
ed egli è avanti ogni cosa, e tutte le cose sussistono in lui.
18 And hee is the head of the body of the Church: he is the beginning, and the first begotten of the dead, that in all thinges hee might haue the preeminence.
Ed egli è il capo del corpo, cioè della Chiesa; egli che è il principio, il primogenito dai morti, onde in ogni cosa abbia il primato.
19 For it pleased the Father, that in him should all fulnesse dwell,
Poiché in lui si compiacque il Padre di far abitare tutta la pienezza
20 And through peace made by that blood of that his crosse, to reconcile to himselfe through him, through him, I say, all thinges, both which are in earth, and which are in heauen.
e di riconciliare con sé tutte le cose per mezzo di lui, avendo fatto la pace mediante il sangue della croce d’esso; per mezzo di lui, dico, tanto le cose che sono sulla terra, quanto quelle che sono nei cieli.
21 And you which were in times past strangers and enemies, because your mindes were set in euill workes, hath he nowe also reconciled,
E voi, che già eravate estranei e nemici nella vostra mente e nelle vostre opere malvage,
22 In that body of his flesh through death, to make you holy, and vnblameable and without fault in his sight,
ora Iddio vi ha riconciliati nel corpo della carne di lui, per mezzo della morte d’esso, per farvi comparire davanti a sé santi e immacolati e irreprensibili,
23 If ye continue, grounded and stablished in the faith, and be not moued away from the hope of the Gospel, whereof ye haue heard, and which hath bene preached to euery creature which is vnder heauen, whereof I Paul am a minister.
se pur perseverate nella fede, fondati e saldi, e non essendo smossi dalla speranza dell’Evangelo che avete udito, che fu predicato in tutta la creazione sotto il cielo, e del quale io, Paolo, sono stato fatto ministro.
24 Now reioyce I in my suffrings for you, and fulfill the rest of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh, for his bodies sake, which is the Church,
Ora io mi rallegro nelle mie sofferenze per voi; e quel che manca alle afflizioni di Cristo lo compio nella mia carne a pro del corpo di lui che è la Chiesa;
25 Whereof I am a minister, according to the dispensation of God, which is giuen mee vnto you ward, to fulfill the word of God,
della quale io sono stato fatto ministro, secondo l’ufficio datomi da Dio per voi di annunziare nella sua pienezza la parola di Dio,
26 Which is the mysterie hid since the world began, and from all ages, but nowe is made manifest to his Saintes, (aiōn g165)
cioè, il mistero, che è stato occulto da tutti i secoli e da tutte le generazioni, ma che ora è stato manifestato ai santi di lui; (aiōn g165)
27 To whome God woulde make knowen what is the riches of his glorious mysterie among the Gentiles, which riches is Christ in you, the hope of glory,
ai quali Iddio ha voluto far conoscere qual sia la ricchezza della gloria di questo mistero fra i Gentili, che è Cristo in voi, speranza della gloria;
28 Whome we preache, admonishing euery man, and teaching euery man in all wisdome, that we may present euery man perfect in Christ Iesus,
il quale noi proclamiamo, ammonendo ciascun uomo e ciascun uomo ammaestrando in ogni sapienza, affinché presentiamo ogni uomo, perfetto in Cristo.
29 Whereunto I also labour and striue, according to his working which worketh in me mightily.
A questo fine io m’affatico, combattendo secondo l’energia sua, che opera in me con potenza.
