Acts 26
1 Then Agrippa sayd vnto Paul, Thou art permitted to speake for thy selfe. So Paul stretched forth the hand, and answered for himselfe.
১তখন আগ্রিপ্প পৌল কে বললেন, “তোমার নিজের পক্ষে কথা বলবার জন্য তোমাকে অনুমতি দেওয়া হলো।” তখন পৌল হাত বাড়িয়ে নিজের পক্ষে এই কথা বললেন,
2 I thinke my selfe happy, King Agrippa, because I shall answere this day before thee of all the things whereof I am accused of the Iewes.
২হে রাজা আগ্রিপ্প, ইহুদীরা আমাকে যে সব দোষ দিয়েছে তার বিরুদ্ধে আপনার সামনে আজ আমার নিজের পক্ষে কথা বলবার সুযোগ পেয়েছি বলে আমি নিজেকে ধন্য মনে করছি,
3 Chiefly, because thou hast knowledge of all customes, and questions which are among the Iewes: wherefore I beseech thee, to heare me patiently.
৩বিশেষ করে ইহুদীদের রীতিনীতি এবং তর্কের বিষয়গুলো সম্বন্ধে আপনার ভাল করেই জানা আছে। এই জন্য ধৈর্য্য ধরে আমার কথা শুনতে আমি আপনাকে বিশেষভাবে অনুরোধ করছি।
4 As touching my life from my childhood, and what it was from the beginning among mine owne nation at Hierusalem, know all the Iewes,
৪ছেলেবেলা থেকে, অর্থাৎ আমার জীবনের আরম্ভ থেকে আমার নিজের জাতির এবং পরে যিরুশালেমের লোকদের মধ্যে আমি কিভাবে জীবন কাটিয়েছি ইহুদীরা সবাই তা জানে।
5 Which knewe me heretofore, euen from my elders (if they would testifie) that after the most straite sect of our religion I liued a Pharise.
৫তারা অনেকদিন ধরেই আমাকে চেনে এবং ইচ্ছা করলে এই সাক্ষ্য দিতে পারে যে, আমাদের ধর্মের ফরীশী নামে যে গোঁড়া দল আছে আমি সেই ফরীশীর জীবনই কাটিয়েছি।
6 And now I stand and am accused for the hope of the promise made of God vnto our fathers.
৬ঈশ্বর আমার পূর্বপুরুষদের কাছে যে প্রতিজ্ঞা করেছিলেন তাতে আমি আশা রাখি বলে এখন আমার বিচার করা হচ্ছে।
7 Whereunto our twelue tribes instantly seruing God day and night, hope to come: for the which hopes sake, O King Agrippa, I am accused of the Iewes.
৭আমাদের বারো গোষ্ঠির লোকেরা দিন রাত মনপ্রাণ দিয়ে ঈশ্বরের উপাসনা করে সেই প্রতিজ্ঞার পূর্ণতা দেখবার আশায় আছে। মহারাজা, সেই আশার জন্যই ইহুদীরা আমাকে দোষ দিচ্ছে।
8 Why should it be thought a thing incredible vnto you, that God should raise againe the dead?
৮ঈশ্বর যদি মৃতদের জীবিত করেন এই কথা অবিশ্বাস্য বলে আপনারা কেন মনে করছেন?
9 I also verely thought in my selfe, that I ought to doe many contrarie things against the Name of Iesus of Nazareth.
৯আমি নিজেই বিশ্বাস করতাম, নাসরতের যীশুর নামের বিরুদ্ধে যা করা যায় তার সবই আমার করা উচিত,
10 Which thing I also did in Hierusalem: for many of the Saints I shut vp in prison, hauing receiued authoritie of the hie Priests, and when they were put to death, I gaue my sentence.
১০আর ঠিক তাই আমি যিরুশালেমে করছিলাম। প্রধান যাজকদের কাছে থেকে কর্তৃত্ব পেয়ে আমি পবিত্রগনদের মধ্যে অনেককে জেলে দিতাম এবং তাদের মেরে ফেলবার দিন তাদের বিরুদ্ধে সাক্ষ্য দিতাম।
11 And I punished them throughout all the Synagogues, and compelled them to blaspheme, and being more mad against them, I persecuted them, euen vnto strange cities.
১১তাদের শাস্তি দেবার জন্য আমি প্রায়ই এক সমাজঘর থেকে অন্য সমাজঘরে যেতাম এবং ধর্ম্মনিন্দা করার জন্য আমি তাদের উপর জোর খাটাতামও। তাদের উপর আমার এত রাগ ছিল যে, তাদের উপর অত্যাচার করবার জন্য আমি বিদেশের শহর গুলোতে পর্যন্ত যেতাম।
12 At which time, euen as I went to Damascus with authoritie, and commission from the hie Priests,
১২এই ভাবে একবার প্রধান যাজকদের কাছে থেকে কর্তৃত্ব ও আদেশ নিয়ে আমি দম্মেশকে যাচ্ছিলাম।
13 At midday, O King, I sawe in the way a light from heauen, passing the brightnes of the sunne, shine round about mee, and them which went with me.
১৩মহারাজ, তখন বেলা প্রায় দুপুর। পথের মধ্যে সূর্য্যের থেকেও উজ্জ্বল এক আলো স্বর্গ থেকে আমারও আমার সঙ্গীদের চারদিকে জ্বলতে লাগলো।
14 So when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voyce speaking vnto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? It is hard for thee to kicke against pricks.
১৪আমরা সবাই মাটিতে পড়ে গেলাম এবং আমি শুনলাম ইব্রীয় ভাষায় কে যেন আমাকে বলছেন, শৌল, শৌল, কেন তুমি আমার উপর অত্যাচার করছ? কাঁটায় বসানো লাঠির মুখে লাথি মেরে কি তুমি নিজের ক্ষতি করছ না?
15 Then I sayd, Who art thou, Lord? And he sayd, I am Iesus whom thou persecutest.
১৫তখন আমি বললাম, “প্রভু, আপনি কে?”
16 But rise and stand vp on thy feete: for I haue appeared vnto thee for this purpose, to appoint thee a minister and a witnesse, both of the things which thou hast seene, and of the things in the which I will appeare vnto thee,
১৬প্রভু বললেন, “আমি যীশু, যাঁর উপর তুমি অত্যাচার করছ। এখন ওঠো, তোমার পায়ে ভর দিয়ে দাঁড়াও। ঈশ্বরের দাস ও সাক্ষী হিসাবে তোমাকে নিযুক্ত করবার জন্য আমি তোমাকে দেখা দিলাম। তুমি আমাকে যেভাবে দেখলে এবং আমি তোমাকে যা দেখাব তা তুমি অন্যদের কাছে বলবে।
17 Deliuering thee from this people, and from the Gentiles, vnto whom now I send thee,
১৭তোমার নিজের লোকেদের ও অযিহুদিদের হাত থেকে আমি তোমাকে উদ্ধার করব।
18 To open their eyes, that they may turne from darknes to light, and from the power of Satan vnto God, that they may receiue forgiuenes of sinnes, and inheritance among them, which are sanctified by fayth in me.
১৮তাদের চোখ খুলে দেখবার জন্য ও অন্ধকার থেকে আলোতে এবং শয়তানের কর্তৃত্ব থেকে ঈশ্বরের কাছে ফিরিয়ে আনবার জন্য আমি তোমাকে তাদের কাছে পাঠাচ্ছি, যেন আমার উপর বিশ্বাসের ফলে তারা পাপের ক্ষমা পায় এবং ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশ্যে যাদের আলাদা করে রাখা হয়েছে সেই পবিত্র লোকদের মধ্যে তারা ক্ষমতা পায়।”
19 Wherefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient vnto the heauenly vision,
১৯“রাজা আগ্রিপ্প, এই জন্য স্বর্গ থেকে এই দর্শনের মধ্য দিয়ে আমাকে যা বলা হয়েছে তার অবাধ্য আমি হইনি।
20 But shewed first vnto them of Damascus, and at Hierusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Iudea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turne to God, and doe workes worthy amendment of life.
২০যারা দম্মেশকে আছে প্রথমে তাদের কাছে, পরে যারা যিরুশালেমে এবং সমস্ত যিহূদী যার প্রদেশে আছে তাদের কাছে এবং অযিহুদিদের কাছে ও আমি প্রচার করেছি যে, পাপ থেকে মন পরিবর্তন করে ঈশ্বরের দিকে তাদের ফেরা উচিত, আর এমন কাজ করা উচিত যার দ্বারা প্রমাণ পাওয়া যায় যে, তারা মন ফিরিয়েছে।
21 For this cause the Iewes caught me in the Temple, and went about to kill me.
২১এই জন্যই কিছু ইহুদীরা আমাকে উপাসনা ঘরে ধরে মেরে ফেলবার চেষ্টা করেছিল
22 Neuertheles, I obteined helpe of God, and continue vnto this day, witnessing both to small and to great, saying none other things, then those which the Prophets and Moses did say should come,
২২কিন্তু ঈশ্বর আজ পর্যন্ত আমাকে সাহায্য করে আসছেন এবং সেইজন্য আমি এখানে দাঁড়িয়ে ছোট বড় সবার কাছে সাক্ষ্য দিচ্ছি। ভাববাদীগণ এবং মোশি যা ঘটবার কথা বলে গেছেন তার বাইরে আমি কিছুই বলছি না।
23 To wit, that Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light vnto this people, and to the Gentiles.
২৩সেই কথা হলো এই যে, খ্রীষ্টকে দুঃখ ভোগ করতে হবে এবং তিনিই প্রথম উত্থিত হবেন ও তাঁর নিজের জাতির লোকদের ও অযিহুদিদের কাছে আলোর রাজ্যের বিষয়ে ঘোষণা করতে হবে।”
24 And as he thus answered for himselfe, Festus said with a loude voyce, Paul, thou art besides thy selfe: much learning doeth make thee mad.
২৪পৌল এই ভাবে যখন আত্মপক্ষ সমর্থন করছিলেন তখন ফীষ্ট তাঁকে বাধা দিয়ে চিৎকার করে বললেন, “পৌল, তুমি পাগল হয়ে গেছ। তুমি অনেক পড়াশুনা করেছ আর সেই পড়াশুনাই তোমাকে পাগল করে তুলছে।”
25 But he said, I am not mad, O noble Festus, but I speake the wordes of trueth and sobernes.
২৫তখন পৌল বললেন, মাননীয় ফীষ্ট, আমি পাগল নই। আমি যা বলছি তা সত্যি এবং যুক্তি পূর্ণ,
26 For the King knoweth of these things, before whom also I speake boldly: for I am perswaded that none of these things are hidden from him: for this thing was not done in a corner.
২৬রাজা তো এই সব বিষয় জানেন এবং আমি তাঁর সঙ্গে সাহস পূর্বক কথা বলছি আর এই কথা আমি নিশ্চয় জানি যে, এর কিছুই তাঁর চোখ এড়ায়নি, কারণ এই সব ঘটনা তো এক কোনে ঘটেনি।
27 O King Agrippa, beleeuest thou the Prophets? I know that thou beleeuest.
২৭হে রাজা আগ্রিপ্প, আপনি কি ভাববাদীদের কথা বিশ্বাস করেন? আমি জানি আপনি করেন।
28 Then Agrippa said vnto Paul, Almost thou perswadest me to become a Christian.
২৮তখন আগ্রিপ্প পৌলকে বললেন, “তুমি কি এত অল্প দিনের মধ্যেই আমাকে খ্রীষ্টান করবার চেষ্টা করছ?”
29 Then Paul sayd, I would to God that not onely thou, but also all that heare me to day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.
২৯পৌল বললেন, “দিন অল্প হোক বা বেশি হোক, আমি ঈশ্বরের কাছে এই প্রার্থনা করি যে, কেবল আপনি নন, কিন্তু যাঁরা আজ আমার কথা শুনছেন তাঁরা সবাই যেন এই শিকল ছাড়া আমার মত হন।”
30 And when he had thus spoken, the King rose vp, and the gouernour, and Bernice, and they that sate with them.
৩০তখন প্রধান শাসনকর্ত্তা ফিষ্ট ও বর্নিকী এবং যাঁরা তাঁদের সঙ্গে বসেছিল সবাই উঠে দাঁড়ালেন।
31 And when they were gone apart, they talked betweene themselues, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death, nor of bonds.
৩১তারপর তাঁরা সেই ঘর ছেড়ে চলে গেলেন এবং একে অন্যকে বলতে লাগলেন, “এই লোকটি মৃত্যুর শাস্তি পাবার বা জেল খাটবার মত কিছুই করে নি।”
32 Then sayd Agrippa vnto Festus, This man might haue bene loosed, if hee had not appealed vnto Cesar.
৩২আগ্রিপ্প ফীষ্টকে বললেন, “এই লোকটি যদি কৈসরের কাছে আপীল না করত তবে তাকে ছেড়ে দেওয়া যেত।”
