Acts 2
1 And when the day of Pentecost was come, they were al with one accord in one place.
Llegado el día de Pentecostés, estaban todos reunidos en un mismo lugar.
2 And suddenly there came a sounde from heauen, as of a russhing and mightie winde, and it filled all the house where they sate.
De repente, vino del cielo un ruido como el de un viento impetuoso, que llenó toda la casa donde estaban sentados.
3 And there appeared vnto them clouen tongues, like fire, and it sate vpon eche of them.
Aparecieron unas lenguas como de fuego que se repartieron entre ellos, y una se posó sobre cada uno de ellos.
4 And they were all filled with the holy Ghost, and began to speake with other tongues, as the Spirit gaue them vtterance.
Todos fueron llenos del Espíritu Santo y comenzaron a hablar con otras lenguas, según el Espíritu les daba la capacidad de hablar.
5 And there were dwelling at Hierusalem Iewes, men that feared God, of euery nation vnder heauen.
En Jerusalén vivían judíos, hombres devotos, de todas las naciones bajo el cielo.
6 Nowe when this was noised, the multitude came together and were astonied, because that euery man heard them speake his owne language.
Al oír este ruido, la multitud se reunió y quedó desconcertada, porque cada uno les oía hablar en su propia lengua.
7 And they wondered al, and marueiled, saying among themselues, Beholde, are not all these which speake, of Galile?
Todos se asombraron y se maravillaron, diciéndose unos a otros: “Mirad, ¿no son galileos todos estos que hablan?
8 How then heare we euery man our owne language, wherein we were borne?
¿Cómo oímos nosotros, cada uno en su propia lengua?
9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the inhabitants of Mesopotamia, and of Iudea, and of Cappadocia, of Pontus, and Asia,
Partos, medos, elamitas y gentes de Mesopotamia, de Judea, de Capadocia, del Ponto, de Asia,
10 And of Phrygia, and Pamphylia, of Egypt, and of the partes of Libya, which is beside Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, and Iewes, and Proselytes,
de Frigia, de Panfilia, de Egipto, de las partes de Libia en torno a Cirene, de los visitantes de Roma, tanto judíos como prosélitos,
11 Creetes, and Arabians: wee hearde them speake in our owne tongues the wonderful works of God.
cretenses y árabes: ¡les oímos hablar en nuestras lenguas de las maravillas de Dios!”
12 They were all then amased, and douted, saying one to another, What may this be?
Todos estaban asombrados y perplejos, diciéndose unos a otros: “¿Qué significa esto?”
13 And others mocked, and saide, They are full of newe wine.
Otros, burlándose, decían: “Están llenos de vino nuevo”.
14 But Peter standing with ye Eleuen, lift vp his voice, and said vnto them, Ye men of Iudea, and ye all that inhabite Hierusalem, be this knowen vnto you, and hearken vnto my woordes.
Pero Pedro, poniéndose en pie con los once, alzó la voz y les dijo: “Hombres de Judea y todos los que habitáis en Jerusalén, sabed esto y escuchad mis palabras.
15 For these are not drunken, as yee suppose, since it is but the third houre of the day.
Porque éstos no están borrachos, como suponéis, ya que sólo es la tercera hora del día.
16 But this is that, which was spoken by the Prophet Ioel,
Pero esto es lo que se ha dicho por medio del profeta Joel:
17 And it shalbe in the last daies, saith God, I wil powre out of my Spirite vpon al flesh, and your sonnes, and your daughters shall prophecie, and your yong men shall see visions, and your old men shall dreame dreames.
‘Será en los últimos días, dice Dios, que derramaré mi Espíritu sobre toda la carne. Tus hijos y tus hijas profetizarán. Sus jóvenes verán visiones. Tus viejos soñarán sueños.
18 And on my seruauntes, and on mine handmaides I will powre out of my Spirite in those daies, and they shall prophecie.
Sí, y sobre mis siervos y mis siervas en aquellos días, Derramaré mi Espíritu, y ellos profetizarán.
19 And I wil shew wonders in heauen aboue, and tokens in the earth beneath, blood, and fire, and the vapour of smoke.
Mostraré maravillas en el cielo, y señales en la tierra de abajo: sangre, y fuego, y oleadas de humo.
20 The Sunne shalbe turned into darkenesse, and the moone into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come.
El sol se convertirá en oscuridad, y la luna en sangre, antes de que llegue el gran y glorioso día del Señor.
21 And it shalbe, that whosoeuer shall call on the Name of the Lord, shalbe saued.
El que invoque el nombre del Señor se salvará”.
22 Yee men of Israel, heare these woordes, JESUS of Nazareth, a man approued of God among you with great workes, and wonders, and signes, which God did by him in the middes of you, as yee your selues also knowe:
“¡Hombres de Israel, escuchad estas palabras! Jesús de Nazaret, un hombre aprobado por Dios para vosotros por las obras poderosas y los prodigios y señales que Dios hizo por él entre vosotros, como vosotros mismos sabéis,
23 Him, I say, being deliuered by the determinate counsell, and foreknowledge of God, after you had taken, with wicked handes you haue crucified and slaine.
a quien, entregado por el consejo determinado y la previsión de Dios, habéis tomado por la mano de hombres sin ley, crucificado y matado;
24 Whome God hath raised vp, and loosed the sorrowes of death, because it was vnpossible that he should be holden of it.
a quien Dios resucitó, habiéndolo librado de la agonía de la muerte, porque no era posible que fuera retenido por ella.
25 For Dauid sayeth concerning him, I beheld the Lord alwaies before me: for hee is at my right hand, that I should not be shaken.
Porque David dice acerca de él, ‘Vi al Señor siempre delante de mi cara, porque él está a mi derecha, para que no sea conmovido.
26 Therefore did mine heart reioyce, and my tongue was glad, and moreouer also my flesh shall rest in hope,
Por eso mi corazón se alegró y mi lengua se regocijó. Además, mi carne también habitará en la esperanza,
27 Because thou wilt not leaue my soule in graue, neither wilt suffer thine Holy one to see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
porque no dejarás mi alma en el Hades, ni permitirá que su Santo vea la decadencia. (Hadēs g86)
28 Thou hast shewed me the waies of life, and shalt make me full of ioy with thy countenance.
Me diste a conocer los caminos de la vida. Me llenarás de alegría con tu presencia.’
29 Men and brethren, I may boldly speake vnto you of the Patriarke Dauid, that hee is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre remaineth with vs vnto this day.
“Hermanos, puedo decirles libremente del patriarca David, que murió y fue sepultado, y su tumba está con nosotros hasta el día de hoy.
30 Therefore, seeing hee was a Prophet, and knewe that God had sworne with an othe to him, that of the fruite of his loynes hee woulde raise vp Christ concerning the flesh, to set him vpon his throne,
Por eso, siendo profeta y sabiendo que Dios le había jurado que del fruto de su cuerpo, según la carne, resucitaría al Cristo para que se sentara en su trono,
31 Hee knowing this before, spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soule shoulde not bee left in graue, neither his flesh shoulde see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
previendo esto, habló de la resurrección del Cristo, que su alma no quedó en el Hades y su carne no vio la decadencia. (Hadēs g86)
32 This Iesus hath God raised vp, whereof we all are witnesses.
A este Jesús lo resucitó Dios, de lo cual todos somos testigos.
33 Since then that he by the right hande of God hath bene exalted, and hath receiued of his Father the promise of the holy Ghost, hee hath shed foorth this which yee nowe see and heare.
Siendo, pues, exaltado por la diestra de Dios, y habiendo recibido del Padre la promesa del Espíritu Santo, ha derramado esto que ahora veis y oís.
34 For Dauid is not ascended into heauen, but he sayth, The Lord sayd to my Lord, Sit at my right hande,
Porque David no subió a los cielos, sino que él mismo dice, El Señor dijo a mi Señor: “Siéntate a mi derecha
35 Vntill I make thine enemies thy footestoole.
hasta que haga de tus enemigos un escabel para tus pies”.
36 Therefore, let all the house of Israel know for a suretie, that God hath made him both Lord, and Christ, this Iesus, I say, whome yee haue crucified.
“Sepa, pues, ciertamente toda la casa de Israel que Dios le ha hecho Señor y Cristo, a este Jesús a quien vosotros crucificasteis.”
37 Now when they heard it, they were pricked in their heartes, and said vnto Peter and the other Apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we doe?
Al oír esto, se les heló el corazón y dijeron a Pedro y a los demás apóstoles: “Hermanos, ¿qué haremos?”
38 Then Peter said vnto them, Amend your liues, and bee baptized euery one of you in the Name of Iesus Christ for the remission of sinnes: and ye shall receiue the gift of the holy Ghost.
Pedro les dijo: “Arrepentíos y bautícese cada uno de vosotros en el nombre de Jesucristo para el perdón de los pecados, y recibiréis el don del Espíritu Santo.
39 For the promise is made vnto you, and to your children, and to all that are a farre off, euen as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Porque la promesa es para vosotros y para vuestros hijos, y para todos los que están lejos, para todos los que el Señor nuestro Dios llame a sí.”
40 And with many other words he besought and exhorted them, saying, Saue your selues from this froward generation.
Con muchas otras palabras les testificó y exhortó, diciendo: “¡Salvaos de esta generación torcida!”
41 Then they that gladly receiued his word, were baptized: and the same day there were added to the Church about three thousand soules.
Entonces los que recibieron con gusto su palabra se bautizaron. Aquel día se añadieron unas tres mil almas.
42 And they continued in the Apostles doctrine, and fellowship, and breaking of bread, and prayers.
Continuaban con la enseñanza de los apóstoles, la comunión, el partimiento del pan y la oración.
43 And feare came vpon euery soule: and many wonders and signes were done by ye Apostles.
El temor se apoderó de todas las personas, y se hicieron muchos prodigios y señales por medio de los apóstoles.
44 And all that beleeued, were in one place, and had all things common.
Todos los que creían estaban juntos y tenían todo en común.
45 And they sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all me, as euery one had need.
Vendían sus posesiones y bienes, y los distribuían a todos, según la necesidad de cada uno.
46 And they continued dayly with one accord in the Temple, and breaking bread at home, did eate their meate together with gladnesse and singlenesse of heart,
De día en día, permaneciendo unánimes en el templo y partiendo el pan en casa, tomaban el alimento con alegría y sencillez de corazón,
47 Praysing God, and had fauour with all the people: and the Lord added to the Church from day to day, such as should be saued.
alabando a Dios y gozando del favor de todo el pueblo. El Señor añadía cada día a la asamblea a los que se salvaban.
