Acts 11
1 Nowe the Apostles and the brethren that were in Iudea, heard, that the Gentiles had also receiued the worde of God.
Es kam aber vor die Apostel und Brüder, die in dem jüdischen Lande waren, daß auch die Heiden hätten Gottes Wort angenommen.
2 And when Peter was come vp to Hierusalem, they of the circumcision contended against him,
Und da Petrus hinaufkam gen Jerusalem, zankten mit ihm, die aus der Beschneidung waren,
3 Saying, Thou wentest in to men vncircumcised, and hast eaten with them.
und sprachen: Du bist eingegangen zu den Männern, die Vorhaut haben, und hast mit ihnen gegessen!
4 Then Peter beganne, and expounded the thing in order to them, saying,
Petrus aber hub an und erzählte es ihnen nacheinander her und sprach:
5 I was in the citie of Ioppa, praying, and in a trance I sawe this vision, A certaine vessell comming downe as it had bene a great sheete, let downe from heauen by the foure corners, and it came to me.
Ich war in der Stadt Joppe im Gebet und war entzückt und sah ein Gesicht, nämlich ein Gefäß herniederfahren wie ein groß leinen Tuch mit vier Zipfeln und niedergelassen vom Himmel, und kam bis zu mir.
6 Towarde the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and sawe foure footed beastes of the earth, and wilde beastes, and creeping things, and foules of the heauen.
Darein sah ich und ward gewahr und sah vierfüßige Tiere der Erde und wilde Tiere und Gewürm und Vögel des Himmels.
7 Also I heard a voyce, saying vnto me, Arise, Peter: slay and eate.
Ich hörete aber eine Stimme, die sprach zu mir: Stehe auf, Petrus, schlachte und iß!
8 And I said, God forbid, Lord: for nothing polluted or vncleane hath at any time entred into my mouth.
Ich aber sprach: O nein, HERR; denn es ist nie kein Gemeines noch Unreines in meinen Mund gegangen.
9 But the voyce answered me the seconde time from heauen, The things that God hath purified, pollute thou not.
Aber die Stimme antwortete mir zum andernmal vom Himmel: Was Gott gereiniget hat, das mache du nicht gemein.
10 And this was done three times, and all were taken vp againe into heauen.
Das geschah aber dreimal; und ward alles wieder hinauf gen Himmel gezogen.
11 Then behold, immediatly there were three men already come vnto the house where I was, sent from Cesarea vnto me.
Und siehe, von Stund' an stunden drei Männer vor dem Hause, darinnen ich war, gesandt von Cäsarea zu mir.
12 And the Spirit saide vnto me, that I should go with them, without doubting: moreouer these sixe brethren came with me, and we entred into the mans house.
Der Geist aber sprach zu mir, ich sollte mit ihnen gehen und nicht zweifeln. Es kamen aber mit mir diese sechs Brüder, und wir gingen in des Mannes Haus.
13 And he shewed vs, howe he had seene an Angel in his house, which stoode and said to him, Send men to Ioppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter.
Und er verkündigte uns, wie er gesehen hätte einen Engel in seinem Hause stehen, der zu ihm gesprochen hätte: Sende Männer gen Joppe und laß fordern den Simon mit dem Zunamen Petrus;
14 He shall speake wordes vnto thee, whereby both thou and all thine house shalbe saued.
der wird dir Worte sagen, dadurch du selig werdest und dein ganzes Haus.
15 And as I began to speake, the holy Ghost fell on them, euen as vpon vs at the beginning.
Indem aber ich anfing zu reden, fiel der Heilige Geist auf sie gleichwie auf uns am ersten Anfang.
16 Then I remembred the word of the Lord, howe he said, Iohn baptized with water, but ye shalbe baptized with the holy Ghost.
Da dachte ich an das Wort des HERRN, als er sagte: Johannes hat mit Wasser getauft; ihr aber sollt mit dem Heiligen Geist getauft werden.
17 For as much then as God gaue them a like gift, as he did vnto vs, when we beleeued in the Lord Iesus Christ, who was I, that I coulde let God?
So nun Gott ihnen gleiche Gaben gegeben hat wie auch uns, die da glauben an den HERRN Jesus Christus, wer war ich, daß ich könnte Gott wehren?
18 When they heard these things, they helde their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles graunted repentance vnto life.
Da sie das höreten, schwiegen sie stille und lobeten Gott und sprachen: So hat Gott auch den Heiden Buße gegeben zum Leben!
19 And they which were scattered abroade because of the affliction that arose about Steuen, went throughout till they came vnto Phenice and Cyprus, and Antiochia, preaching the worde to no man, but vnto the Iewes onely.
Die aber zerstreuet waren in der Trübsal, so sich über Stephanus erhub, gingen umher bis gen Phönizien und Zypern und Antiochien und redeten das Wort zu niemand denn allein zu den Juden.
20 Now some of them were men of Cyprus and of Cyrene, which when they were come into Antiochia, spake vnto the Grecians, and preached the Lord Iesus.
Es waren aber etliche unter ihnen, Männer von Zypern und Kyrene, die kamen gen Antiochien und redeten auch zu den Griechen und predigten das Evangelium vom HERRN Jesu.
21 And the hand of the Lord was with them, so that a great number beleeued and turned vnto the Lord.
Und die Hand des HERRN war mit ihnen, und eine große Zahl ward gläubig und bekehrete sich zu dem HERRN.
22 Then tydings of those things came vnto the eares of the Church, which was in Hierusalem, and they sent foorth Barnabas, that he should goe vnto Antiochia.
Es kam aber diese Rede von ihnen vor die Ohren der Gemeinde zu Jerusalem; und sie sandten Barnabas, daß er hinginge bis gen Antiochien,
23 Who when he was come and had seene the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted all, that with purpose of heart they would continue in the Lord.
welcher, da er hinkommen war und sah die Gnade Gottes, ward er froh und ermahnete sie alle, daß sie mit festem Herzen an dem HERRN bleiben wollten.
24 For he was a good man, and full of the holy Ghost, and faith, and much people ioyned them selues vnto the Lord.
Denn er war ein frommer Mann, voll Heiligen Geistes und Glaubens. Und es ward ein groß Volk dem HERRN zugetan.
25 Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus to seeke Saul:
Barnabas aber zog aus gen Tarsus, Saulus wieder zu suchen.
26 And when he had founde him, he brought him vnto Antiochia: and it came to passe that a whole yere they were conuersant with ye Church, and taught much people, in so much that the disciples were first called Christians in Antiochia.
Und da er ihn fand, führete er ihn gen Antiochien. Und sie blieben bei der Gemeinde ein ganzes Jahr und lehreten viel Volks; daher die Jünger am ersten zu Antiochien Christen genannt wurden.
27 In those dayes also came Prophets from Hierusalem vnto Antiochia.
In denselbigen Tagen kamen Propheten von Jerusalem gen Antiochien.
28 And there stoode vp one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit, that there should be great famine throughout all the world, which also came to passe vnder Claudius Cesar.
Und einer unter ihnen, mit Namen Agabus, stund auf und deutete durch den Geist eine große Teurung, die da kommen sollte über den ganzen Kreis der Erde, welche geschah unter dem Kaiser Claudius.
29 Then the disciples, euery man according to his ability, purposed to sende succour vnto the brethren which dwelt in Iudea.
Aber unter den Jüngern beschloß ein jeglicher, nachdem er vermochte, zu senden eine Handreichung den Brüdern, die in Judäa wohneten;
30 Which thing they also did, and sent it to the Elders, by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.
wie sie denn auch taten und schickten's zu den Ältesten durch die Hand Barnabas und Saulus.
