2 Thessalonians 1

1 Paul and Siluanus, and Timotheus, vnto the Church of the Thessalonians, which is in God our Father, and in the Lord Iesus Christ:

Παύλος και Σιλουανός και Τιμόθεος προς την εκκλησίαν των Θεσσαλονικέων εν Θεώ τω Πατρί ημών και Κυρίω Ιησού Χριστώ·

2 Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Iesus Christ.

χάρις είη υμίν και ειρήνη από Θεού Πατρός ημών και Κυρίου Ιησού Χριστού.

3 We ought to thanke God alwayes for you, brethren, as it is meete, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the loue of euery one of you toward another, aboundeth,

Οφείλομεν να ευχαριστώμεν πάντοτε τον Θεόν διά σας, αδελφοί, καθώς είναι άξιον, διότι υπεραυξάνει η πίστις σας και πλεονάζει η αγάπη ενός εκάστου πάντων υμών εις αλλήλους,

4 So that we our selues reioyce of you in the Churches of God, because of your patience and faith in al your persecutions and tribulatios that ye suffer,

ώστε ημείς αυτοί καυχώμεθα διά σας εν ταις εκκλησίαις του Θεού διά την υπομονήν σας και πίστιν εν πάσι τοις διωγμοίς υμών και ταις θλίψεσι, τας οποίας υποφέρετε,

5 Which is a manifest token of the righteous iudgement of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdome of God, for the which ye also suffer.

το οποίον είναι ένδειξις της δικαίας κρίσεως του Θεού, διά να αξιωθήτε της βασιλείας του Θεού, υπέρ της οποίας και πάσχετε,

6 For it is a righteous thing with God, to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you,

επειδή είναι δίκαιον ενώπιον του Θεού να ανταποδώση θλίψιν εις τους όσοι σας θλίβουσιν,

7 And to you which are troubled, rest with vs, when the Lord Iesus shall shewe himselfe from heauen with his mightie Angels,

εις εσάς δε τους θλιβομένους άνεσιν μεθ' ημών, όταν ο Κύριος Ιησούς αποκαλυφθή απ' ουρανού μετά των αγγέλων της δυνάμεως αυτού

8 In flaming fire, rendring vengeance vnto them, that doe not know God, and which obey not vnto the Gospel of our Lord Iesus Christ,

εν πυρί φλογός, κάμνων εκδίκησιν εις τους μη γνωρίζοντας Θεόν και εις τους μη υπακούοντας εις το ευαγγέλιον του Κυρίου ημών Ιησού Χριστού,

9 Which shall be punished with euerlasting perdition, from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power, (aiōnios g166)

οίτινες θέλουσι τιμωρηθή με όλεθρον αιώνιον από προσώπου του Κυρίου και από της δόξης της δυνάμεως αυτού, (aiōnios g166)

10 When he shall come to be glorified in his Saints, and to be made marueilous in all them that beleeue (because our testimonie toward you was beleeued) in that day.

όταν έλθη να ενδοξασθή εν τοις αγίοις αυτού, και να θαυμασθή εν πάσι τοις πιστεύουσιν, επειδή σεις επιστεύσατε εις την μαρτυρίαν ημών, εν τη ημέρα εκείνη.

11 Wherefore, we also pray alwayes for you, that our God may make you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodnes, and the worke of faith with power,

Διά το οποίον και προσευχόμεθα πάντοτε διά σας, διά να σας καταστήση ο Θεός ημών αξίους της κλήσεως αυτού, και να εκπληρώση πάσαν ευδοκίαν αγαθωσύνης και το έργον της πίστεως εν δυνάμει,

12 That the Name of our Lord Iesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God, and of the Lord Iesus Christ.

διά να ενδοξασθή το όνομα του Κυρίου ημών Ιησού Χριστού εν υμίν, και υμείς εν αυτώ, κατά την χάριν του Θεού ημών και Κυρίου Ιησού Χριστού.
