2 Samuel 7

1 Afterwarde when the King sate in his house and the Lord had giuen him rest rounde about from all his enemies,

Cuando el rey se había establecido en su casa, y Yahvé le había dado descanso de todos sus enemigos en derredor,

2 The King saide vnto Nathan the Prophet, Beholde, nowe I dwel in an house of cedar trees, and the Arke of God remayneth within the curtaines.

dijo al profeta Natán: “¿No ves que yo habito en casa de cedro, mientras el Arca de Dios está en medio de una tienda?”

3 Then Nathan sayde vnto the King, Go, and doe all that is in thine heart: for the Lord is with thee.

Natán contestó al rey: “Anda, haz todo cuanto tienes en tu corazón; porque Yahvé es contigo.”

4 And the same night the worde of the Lord came vnto Nathan, saying,

Mas aquella noche recibió Natán una palabra de Yahvé, que decía:

5 Goe and tell my seruant Dauid, Thus saieth the Lord, Shalt thou buylde me an house for my dwelling?

“Anda, y di a mi siervo David: «Así dice Yahvé: ¿Tú quieres edificarme una Casa para que habite en ella?

6 For I haue dwelt in no house since the time that I brought the children of Israel out of Egypt vnto this day, but haue walked in a tent and tabernacle.

Yo nunca he habitado en Casa alguna desde el día en que saqué a los hijos de Israel de Egipto hasta el día de hoy, sino que he andado de un lugar a otro en una tienda y en un tabernáculo.

7 In al the places wherein I haue walked with all the children of Israel, spake I one worde with any of the tribes of Israel when I commanded the iudges to feede my people Israel? or sayde I, Why build ye not me an house of cedar trees?

Durante todo el tiempo en que he andado en medio de todos los hijos de Israel, ¿he hablado Yo jamás a alguna de las tribus de Israel, a las que he encargado el gobierno de Israel mi pueblo, diciendo: «Por qué no me habéis edificado una Casa de cedro?»

8 Nowe therefore so say vnto my seruant Dauid, Thus saieth the Lord of hostes, I tooke thee from the sheepecote following the sheepe, that thou mightest bee ruler ouer my people, ouer Israel.

Habla, pues, ahora de esta manera a mi siervo David: «Así dice Yahvé de los Ejércitos: Yo te saqué de las dehesas, de detrás de las ovejas, para que seas príncipe de Israel, mi pueblo.

9 And I was with thee wheresoeuer thou hast walked, and haue destroyed all thine enemies out of thy sight, and haue made thee a great name, like vnto the name of the great men that are in the earth.

He estado contigo dondequiera que andabas, he exterminado a todos tus enemigos de delante de ti, y he hecho grande tu nombre como el nombre de los más grandes de la tierra.

10 (Also I will appoynt a place for my people Israel, and will plant it, that they may dwell in a place of their owne, and moue no more, neither shall wicked people trouble them any more as before time,

He señalado un lugar para Israel, mi pueblo, y lo he plantado, de modo que puede habitar en su propio lugar, sin ser inquietado, pues los hijos de iniquidad ya no lo oprimirán como antes.

11 And since the time that I set Iudges ouer my people of Israel) and I will giue thee rest from al thine enemies: also the Lord telleth thee, that he will make thee an house.

desde el día en que constituí jueces sobre Israel mi pueblo. Te he dado descanso de todos tus enemigos, y Yahvé te hace saber que Él te edificará una casa.

12 And when thy daies bee fulfilled, thou shalt sleepe with thy fathers, and I wil set vp thy seede after thee, which shall proceede out of thy body, and will stablish his kingdome.

Cuando se cumplieren tus días y tú descansares con tus padres. Yo suscitaré después de ti, un descendiente tuyo que ha de salir de tus entrañas, y haré estable su reino.

13 He shall buyld an house for my Name, and I will stablish ye throne of his kingdome for euer.

Él edificará una casa para mi nombre: y Yo afirmaré el trono de su reino para siempre,

14 I will be his father, and hee shall bee my sonne: and if he sinne, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the plagues of the children of men.

Yo seré su Padre y el será mi hijo. Cuando obrare mal, le reprenderé con vara de hombres y con azotes de hombres.

15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I tooke it from Saul whome I haue put away before thee.

Con todo no se apartará de él mi misericordia como la aparté de Saúl, al cual he quitado de delante de ti.

16 And thine house shall be stablished and thy kingdome for euer before thee, euen thy throne shalbe stablished for euer.

Tu casa y tu reino serán estables ante Mí eternamente, y tu trono será firme para siempre.»”

17 According to all these wordes, and according to all this vision, Nathan spake thus vnto Dauid.

Conforme a todas estas palabras, y a toda esta visión, así habló Natán a David.

18 Then King Dauid went in, and sate before the Lord, and sayde, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

Entró entonces el rey David y permaneciendo en la presencia de Yahvé, dijo: “¿Quién soy yo, oh Señor, Yahvé, y cuál es mi casa, para que me hayas conducido hasta aquí?

19 And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord God, therefore thou hast spoken also of thy seruants house for a great while: but doth this appertaine to man, O Lord God?

Y como si esto fuese aun poco a tus ojos, Señor, Yahvé, has hablado de nuevo también en favor de la casa de tu siervo para los tiempos futuros. ¿Es esta la costumbre de los hombres?, oh Señor Yahvé.

20 And what can Dauid say more vnto thee? for thou, Lord God, knowest thy seruant.

¿Y qué más podrá decirte David? Pues Tú, oh Señor Yahvé, conoces a tu siervo.

21 For thy words sake, and according to thine owne heart hast thou done all these great things, to make them knowen vnto thy seruant.

Según tu palabra y según tu corazón has hecho toda esta obra tan grande, y la has dado a conocer a tu siervo.

22 Wherefore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God besides thee, according to all that wee haue heard with our eares.

Por eso eres grande, oh Yahvé Dios; pues no hay nadie como Tú, ni hay Dios alguno fuera de Ti, conforme a todo lo que hemos oído con nuestros oídos.

23 And what one people in the earth is like thy people, like Israel? whose God went and redeemed them to himselfe, that they might be his people, and that hee might make him a name, and do for you great things, and terrible for thy land, O Lord, euen for thy people, whome thou redeemedst to thee out of Egypt, from the nations, and their gods?

¿Y hay en la tierra pueblo como tu pueblo, como Israel, al que Dios haya venido a rescatarle para hacerle el pueblo suyo y darle nombre, obrando maravillas en su favor y prodigios en favor de tu tierra, rechazando de delante de tu pueblo que redimiste de Egipto para Ti mismo, las naciones con sus dioses?

24 For thou hast ordeyned to thy selfe thy people Israel to be thy people for euer: and thou Lord art become their God.

Tú constituiste a tu pueblo Israel pueblo tuyo para siempre; y Tú, oh Yahvé, te hiciste Dios suyo.

25 Nowe therefore, O Lord God, confirme for euer the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy seruant and his house, and doe as thou hast sayde.

Ahora pues, oh Yahvé Dios, mantén siempre firme la promesa que has hecho respecto de tu siervo y respecto de tu casa, y haz según tu promesa.

26 And let thy Name bee magnified for euer by them that shall say, The Lord of hostes is the God ouer Israel: and let the house of thy seruant Dauid be stablished before thee.

Y sea ensalzado tu nombre para siempre, y se diga: Yahvé de los Ejércitos es Dios sobre Israel, y sea estable la casa de tu siervo David delante de tu rostro.

27 For thou, O Lord of hostes, God of Israel, hast reueiled vnto thy seruant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy seruant bene bold to pray this prayer vnto thee.

Porque Tú, Yahvé de los Ejércitos, Dios de Israel, has dado a tu siervo esta revelación, diciendo: ‘Te edificaré una casa’; por eso tu siervo se ha atrevido a dirigirte esta plegaria.

28 Therefore now, O Lord God, (for thou art God, and thy words be true, and thou hast tolde this goodnes vnto thy seruant)

Ahora pues, oh Señor Yahvé, Tú eres Dios y tus palabras son fieles. Ya que prometiste a tu siervo este bien,

29 Therefore nowe let it please thee to blesse the house of thy seruant, that it may continue for euer before thee: for thou, O Lord God, hast spoken it: and let the house of thy seruant be blessed for euer, with thy blessing.

sea ahora de tu agrado bendecir la casa de tu siervo, para que subsista siempre delante de Ti; pues Tú, Señor Yahvé, lo has prometido; y con tu bendición será por siempre bendita la casa de tu siervo.”
