2 Samuel 4

1 And when Sauls sonne heard that Abner was dead in Hebron, then his handes were feeble, and all Israel was afraide,

Como el hijo de Saul oyó que Abner había sido muerto en Hebrón, las manos se le descoyuntaron: y todo Israel fue atemorizado.

2 And Sauls sonne had two men that were captaines of bandes: the one called Baanah, and the other called Rechab, the sonnes of Rimmon a Beerothite of the children of Beniamin. (for Beeroth was reckened to Beniamin,

Y tenía el hijo de Saul dos varones, los cuales eran capitanes de compañías: el nombre del uno era Baana, y el del otro era Recab, hijos de Remmón Berotita, de los hijos de Ben-jamín: porque Berot era contada con Ben-jamín.

3 Because the Beerothites fled to Gittaim, and soiourned there, vnto this day).

Estos Berotitas se habían huido en Getaim, y habían sido peregrinos allí hasta entonces.

4 And Ionathan Sauls sonne had a sonne that was lame on his feete: he was fiue yere olde when the tydings came of Saul and Ionathan out of Israel: then his nourse tooke him, and fledde away. And as she made haste to flee, the childe fell, and beganne to halte, and his name was Mephibosheth.

Y Jonatán el hijo de Saul tenía un hijo cojo de los pies, de edad de cinco años: que cuando la fama de la muerte de Saul y de Jonatán vino de Jezrael, su ama le tomó, y huyó: y yendo, huyendo de priesa, cayó el niño y quedó cojo: su nombre era Mifiboset.

5 And the sonnes of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah went and came in the heat of the day to the house of Ish-bosheth (who slept on a bed at noone)

Los hijos de Remmón Berotita, Recab y Baana fueron, y entraron en la mayor calor del día en casa de Is-boset, el cual estaba durmiendo en su cámara la siesta.

6 And beholde, Rechab and Baanah his brother came into the middes of the house as they would haue wheate, and they smote him vnder the fift ryb, and fled.

Y entraron en medio de la casa en hábito de mercaderes de grano, e hiriéronle junto a la quinta costilla, y escapáronse Recab y Baana su hermano.

7 For when they came into the house, he slept on his bed in his bed chamber, and they smote him, and slewe him, and beheaded him, and tooke his head, and gate them away through the plaine all the night.

Los cuales como entraron en la casa, estando él en su cama en su cámara de dormir, le hirieron y mataron: y cortáronle la cabeza. Y tomando la cabeza caminaron toda la noche por el camino de la campaña.

8 And they brought the head of Ish-bosheth vnto Dauid to Hebron, and saide to the King, Beholde the head of Ish-bosheth Sauls sonne thine enemie, who sought after thy life: and the Lord hath auenged my lorde the King this day of Saul, and of his seede.

Y trajeron la cabeza de Is-boset a David en Hebrón, y dijeron al rey: He aquí la cabeza de Is-boset, hijo de Saul, tu enemigo, que procuraba matarte: y Jehová ha vengado hoy a mi señor el rey de Saul, y de su simiente.

9 Then Dauid answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sonnes of Rimmon the Beerothite, and saide vnto them, As the Lord liueth, who hath deliuered my soule out of al aduersity,

Y David respondió a Recab y a Baana su hermano, hijos de Remmón Berotita, y díjoles: Vive Jehová, que ha redimido mi alma de toda angustia,

10 When one tolde me, and sayde that Saul was dead, (thinking to haue brought good tydings) I tooke him and slewe him in Ziklag, who thought that I woulde haue giuen him a rewarde for his tidings:

Que cuando uno me dio nuevas, diciendo: He aquí, Saul es muerto, el cual pensaba que traía buenas nuevas, yo le tomé, y le maté en Siceleg en premio de la buena nueva.

11 How much more, when wicked men haue slaine a righteous person in his owne house, and vpon his bed? shall I not now therfore require his blood at your hand, and take you from the earth?

¿Cuánto más a los malos hombres, que mataron a un hombre justo en su casa, y sobre su cama? Ahora pues, ¿no tengo yo de demandar su sangre de vuestras manos, y quitaros de la tierra?

12 Then Dauid commanded his yong men, and they slew them, and cut off their hands and their feete, and hanged them vp ouer the poole in Hebron: but they tooke the head of Ishbosheth, and buried it in the sepulchre of Abner in Hebron.

Entonces David mandó a los mancebos, y ellos los mataron, y cortáronles las manos y los pies, y colgáronlos sobre el estanque en Hebrón. Y tomaron la cabeza de Is-boset, y la enterraron en el sepulcro de Abner en Hebrón.
