2 Samuel 23
1 These also be the last wordes of Dauid, Dauid the sonne of Ishai saith, euen the man who was set vp on hie, the Anointed of the God of Iacob, and the sweete singer of Israel saith,
Estas son las últimas palabras de David: “Oráculo de David, hijo de Isaí, oráculo del varón puesto en lo alto, del ungido del Dios de Jacob, del dulce cantor de Israel:
2 The Spirit of the Lord spake by me, and his worde was in my tongue.
El Espíritu de Yahvé habla por mí, y sobre mi lengua se halla su palabra.
3 The God of Israel spake to me, ye strength of Israel saide, Thou shalt beare rule ouer men, being iust, and ruling in the feare of God.
Me habló el Dios de Israel, dijo la Roca de Israel: Un dominador justo de los hombres que gobierna en el temor de Dios,
4 Euen as the morning light when the sunne riseth, the morning, I say, without cloudes, so shall mine house be, and not as the grasse of the earth is by the bright raine.
es como la luz de la aurora cuando se levanta el sol en una mañana sin nubes. A sus rayos, tras la lluvia, brota la hierba de la tierra.
5 For so shall not mine house be with God: for he hath made with me an euerlasting couenant, perfite in all pointes, and sure: therefore all mine health and whole desire is, that he will not make it growe so.
¿No está así con Dios mi casa? pues Él hizo conmigo pacto eterno, firme en todo y bien guardado. Él es toda mi salud y el cumplimiento de todos mis deseos.
6 But the wicked shalbe euery one as thornes thrust away, because they can not be taken with handes.
Pero los hombres de Belial sean desechados todos como espinas, que no pueden tomarse con la mano.
7 But the man that shall touch them, must be defensed with yron, or with the shaft of a speare: and they shall be burnt with fire in the same place.
Quien quiere tocarlas, se arma de hierro o de un asta de lanza, y las quema en su mismo lugar.”
8 These be the names of the mightie men whome Dauid had. He that sate in the seate of wisedome, being chiefe of the princes, was Adino of Ezni, he slewe eight hundreth at one time.
Estos son los nombres de los héroes que tenía David: Jesbam, hijo de Hacamoní, el principal de los tres. Blandió su lanza contra ochocientos hombres y los mató de una vez.
9 And after him was Eleazar the sonne of Dodo, the sonne of Ahohi, one of the three worthies with Dauid, when they defied the Philistims gathered there to battel, when the men of Israel were gone vp.
Después de este, Eleazar, hijo de Dodó, hijo de Ahohí, que era uno de los tres valientes que estaban con David. Desafiaba a los filisteos, reunidos allí para batalla. Se habían dispersado ya los hombres de Israel,
10 He arose and smote the Philistims vntill his hande was wearie, and his hande claue vnto the sworde: and the Lord gaue great victorie the same day, and the people returned after him onely to spoyle.
cuando él se levantó e hirió a los filisteos hasta que se le cansó la mano y le quedó pegada a la espada. En aquel día obró Yahvé una gran liberación, y el pueblo volvió en pos de Eleazar, pero solo para tomar los despojos.
11 After him was Shammah the sonne of Age the Hararite: for the Philistims assembled at a towne, where was a piece of a fielde full of lentils, and the people fled from the Philistims.
Después de él, Sammá, hijo de Agé, hararita. Se habían reunido los filisteos en Lehí, y había allí un pedazo de terreno sembrado de lentejas, y el pueblo iba huyendo delante de los filisteos.
12 But he stoode in the middes of the fielde, and defended it, and slewe the Philistims: so the Lord gaue great victorie.
Entonces él se plantó en medio del campo, lo defendió y derrotó a los filisteos; y obró Yahvé una gran liberación.
13 Afterward three of the thirtie captaines went downe, and came to Dauid in the haruest time vnto the caue of Adullam, and the hoste of the Philistims pitched in the valley of Rephaim.
Tres de los treinta capitanes fueron a reunirse con David, al tiempo de la siega, en la cueva de Odollam, mientras una tropa de filisteos acampaba en el valle de Refaím.
14 And Dauid was then in an holde, and the garison of ye Philistims was then in Beth-lehem.
David estaba a la sazón en la fortaleza y había una guarnición de los filisteos en Betlehem.
15 And Dauid longed, and said, Oh, that one would giue me to drinke of the water of the well of Beth-lehem, which is by the gate.
Se le vino entonces a David un deseo y dijo: “¡Ah, si yo pudiera beber del agua del pozo de Betlehem, que está junto a la puerta!”
16 The the three mightie brake into the host of the Philistims, and drew water out of the well of Beth-lehem that was by the gate, and tooke and brought it to Dauid, who woulde not drinke thereof, but powred it for an offring vnto ye Lord,
Con lo cual los tres valientes atravesaron el campamento de los filisteos, sacaron agua del pozo de Betlehem que está junto a la puerta, y la llevaron a David. Mas él no quiso beberla, sino que la derramó para Yahvé,
17 And said, O Lord, be it farre from me, that I should doe this. Is not this the blood of the men that went in ieopardie of their liues? therefore he woulde not drinke it. These things did these three mightie men.
diciendo: “¡Lejos de mí, oh Yahvé, hacer tal cosa! ¿No es esta la sangre de los hombres que han expuesto su vida para buscarla?” Por tanto no quiso bebería. Esto hicieron los tres héroes.
18 And Abishai the brother of Ioab, the sonne of Zeruiah, was chiefe among the three, and he lifted vp his speare against three hundreth, and slewe them, and he had the name among the three.
Abisai, hermano de Joab, hijo de Sarvia, era jefe de treinta. Enristró su lanza contra trescientos y los derrotó, y adquirió fama entre los tres.
19 For he was most excellent of the three, and was their captaine, but he attained not vnto the first three.
Él era de los treinta el más distinguido y su jefe, mas no igualó a los tres.
20 And Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada the sonne of a valiant man, which had done many actes, and was of Kabzeel, slewe two strong men of Moab: he went downe also, and slewe a lyon in the middes of a pit in the time of snowe.
Banaías, hijo de Joiadá, varón fortísimo y de grandes hazañas, natural de Cabseel, mató a los dos Ariel de Moab. En un día de nieve bajó y mató un león en una cisterna.
21 And he slewe an Egyptian a man of great stature, and the Egyptian had a speare in his hande: but he went downe to him with a staffe, and plucked the speare out of the Egyptians hand, and slewe him with his owne speare.
Mató, además a un egipcio, varón de alta estatura. Tenía el egipcio en su mano una lanza, pero (Banaías) bajó contra él con su báculo, y arrancando la lanza de la mano del egipcio lo mató con esa misma lanza.
22 These things did Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and had the name among the three worthies.
Tales cosas hizo Banaías, hijo de Joiadá, y tuvo renombre entres los tres valientes.
23 He was honourable among thirtie, but he atteined not to the first three: and Dauid made him of his counsell.
Él era el más considerado entre los treinta, pero no alcanzó a los tres. David lo hizo consejero suyo.
24 Asahel the brother of Ioab was one of the thirtie: Elhanan the sonne of Dodo of Beth-lehem:
Entre los treinta figuraban: Asael, hermano de Joab; Elhanán, hijo de Dodó, de Betlehem;
25 Shammah the Harodite: Elika ye Harodite:
Sammá de Harod; Elicá de Harod;
26 Helez the Paltite: Ira the sonne of Ikkesh the Tekoite:
Heles el paltita; Irá, hijo de Iqués, de Tecoa;
27 Abiezer the Anethothite: Mebunnai the Husathite:
Abiéser de Anatot; Mobonai, husatita;
28 Zalmon an Ahohite: Maharai the Netophathite:
Selmón ahotita; Maharai de Netofá;
29 Heleb the sonne of Baanah a Netophathite: Ittai the sonne of Ribai of Gibeah of the children of Beniamin:
Heleb, hijo de Baaná, de Netofá; Itai, hijo de Ribai, de Gabaá de los hijos de Benjamín;
30 Benaiah the Pirathonite: Hiddai of the riuer of Gaash:
Banaías, de Faratón; Hidai, de los valles de Gaas;
31 Abi-albon the Arbathite: Azmaueth the Barhumite:
Abialbón de Arbat; Azmávet de Barhum;
32 Elihaba the Shaalbonite: of the sonnes of Iashen, Ionathan:
Eliabá de Saalbón, Bené-Jasén, Jonatán;
33 Shammah the Hararite: Ahiam the sonne of Sharar the Hamrite:
Sammá de Harar; Ahiam, hijo de Sarar, de Aror;
34 Eliphelet the sonne of Ahasbai the sonne of Maachathi: Eliam the sonne of Ahithophel the Gilonite:
Elifálet, hijo de Ahasbai, hijo del maacateo; Eliam, hijo de Aquitófel gilonita;
35 Hezrai the Carmelite: Paarai the Arbite:
Hesrai de Carmel; Farai arbita;
36 Igal the sonne of Nathan of Zobah: Bani the Gadite:
Igal, hijo de Natán, de Soba; Baní gadita;
37 Zelek the Ammonite: Naharai the Becrothite, the armour bearer of Ioab the sonne of Zeruiah:
Sélec ammonita y Naharai de Beerot, escuderos de Joab, hijo de Sarvia;
38 Ira the Ithrite: Gareb the Ithrite:
Irá de Jéter; Gareb de Jéter;
39 Uriiah the Hittite, thirtie and seuen in all.
Urías, el heteo; en total treinta y siete.
