< 2 Samuel 20 >

1 Then there was come thither a wicked man (named Sheba the sonne of Bichri, a man of Iemini) and hee blew the trumpet, and saide, Wee haue no part in Dauid, neither haue we inheritance in the sonne of Ishai: euery man to his tents, O Israel.
Waaliwo omusajja omujeemu erinnya lye Seba, mutabani wa Bikuli, Omubenyamini. Yafuuwa ekkondeere n’ayogerera n’eddoboozi ery’omwanguka nti, “Tetulina mugabo mu Dawudi, so tetulina busika mu mutabani wa Yese! Buli muntu adde mu weema ye, ggwe Isirayiri!”
2 So euery man of Israel went from Dauid and followed Sheba the sonne of Bichri: but the men of Iudah claue fast vnto their King, from Iorden euen to Ierusalem.
Awo abantu ba Isirayiri bonna ne balekulira Dawudi ne bagoberera Seba mutabani wa Bikuli. Naye abantu ba Yuda bo ne basigala ne kabaka waabwe, okuva ku Yoludaani okutuuka e Yerusaalemi.
3 When Dauid then came to his house to Ierusalem, the King tooke the ten women his concubines, that hee had left behinde him to keepe the house, and put them in warde, and fed them, but lay no more with them: but they were enclosed vnto the day of their death, liuing in widowhode.
Dawudi bwe yadda mu lubiri lwe e Yerusaalemi, n’addira abakyala be ekkumi be yali alese okulabirira olubiri n’abasibira mu kkomera. N’abagabirira mu byokulya kwabwe, naye n’atebaka nabo. Ne baggalirwa eyo okutuusa lwe baafa, nga bali nga bannamwandu.
4 Then sayde the King to Amasa, Assemble me the men of Iudah within three dayes, and be thou here present.
Awo kabaka n’agamba Amasa nti, “Nkuŋŋaanyiza abasajja ba Yuda mu nnaku ssatu, naawe obeerewo.”
5 So Amasa went to assemble Iudah, but hee taried longer then the time which he had appoynted him.
Naye Amasa bwe yagenda okukola ky’alagiddwa, n’atwala ekiseera kiwanvu okusinga kabaka kye yali amuwadde.
6 Then Dauid sayd to Abishai, Now shall Sheba the sonne of Bichri doe vs more harme then did Absalom: take thou therefore thy lords seruants and follow after him, lest he get him walled cities, and escape vs.
Dawudi n’agamba Abisaayi nti, “Seba mutabani wa Bikuli alitukola akabi okusinga Abusaalomu bwe yakola. Noolwekyo twala abasajja ba mukama wo omugoberere aleme okuddukira mu bibuga ebiriko bbugwe, n’atusimatuka.”
7 And there went out after him Ioabs men, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites, and all the mightie men: and they departed out of Ierusalem, to follow after Sheba the sonne of Bichri.
Awo abasajja ba Yowaabu, n’Abakeresi, n’Abaperesi, n’abaserikale abazira bonna, ne bava mu Yerusaalemi ne bagenda okunoonya Seba mutabani wa Bikuli nga baduumirwa Abisaayi.
8 When they were at the great stone, which is in Gibeon, Amasa went before them, and Ioabs garment, that hee had put on, was girded vnto him, and vpon it was a sword girded, which hanged on his loynes in the sheath, and as hee went, it vsed to fall out.
Bwe baatuuka ku lwazi olunene mu Gibyoni, Amasa n’ajja okubasisinkana. Yowaabu yali yeesibye ebyambalo bye eby’olutalo, ne mu kiwato nga yeesibye olukoba olwaliko ekitala ekyali mu kiraato kyakyo. Bwe yasituka, ne kisowoka mu kiraato kyakyo ne kigwa wansi.
9 And Ioab sayde to Amasa, Art thou in health, my brother? and Ioab tooke Amasa by the beard with the right hand to kisse him.
Yowaabu n’alamusa Amasa ng’ayogera nti, “Mirembe, muganda wange?” Yowaabu n’akwata Amasa ekirevu n’omukono gwe ogwa ddyo, n’aba nga agenda okumunywegera.
10 But Amasa tooke no heede to the sworde that was in Ioabs hande: for therewith he smote him in the fift rib, and shed out his bowels to the ground, and smote him not the second time: so he dyed. then Ioab and Abishai his brother followed after Sheba the sonne of Bichri.
Naye Amasa n’atassaayo mwoyo okwekuuma ekitala ekyali mu mukono gwa Yowaabu; Yowaabu n’akimufumita mu lubuto, n’ayiwa ebyenda bye wansi. N’atamufumita lwakubiri, Amasa bw’atyo n’afa. Awo Yowaabu ne muganda we Abisaayi ne beeyongera okugoberera Seba mutabani wa Bikuli.
11 And one of Ioabs men stoode by him, and saide, He that fauoureth Ioab, and hee that is of Dauids part, let him go after Ioab.
Omu ku basajja ba Yowaabu n’ayimirira okumpi n’omulambo gwa Amasa n’ayogera nti, “Buli ayagala Yowaabu, era buli ali ku luuyi lwa Dawudi, agoberere Yowaabu.”
12 And Amasa wallowed in blood in the mids of the way: and when the man sawe that all the people stood still, he remooued Amasa out of the way into the fielde, and cast a cloth vpon him, because he saw that euery one that came by him, stoode still.
Omulambo gwa Amasa ne gubeera mu musaayi gwe nga gukulukunyirizibwa omwo wakati mu luguudo. Ne wabaawo omusajja eyalaba nga buli eyatuukanga awali omulambo gwa Amasa ng’ayimirira; omusajja oyo n’agusitula n’aguggya mu luguudo n’agutwala ebbali mu nsiko, n’agusuulako olugoye.
13 When hee was remoued out of the way, euerie man went after Ioab, to follow after Sheba the sonne of Bichri.

14 And he went through all the tribes of Israel vnto Abel, and Bethmaachah and all places of Berim: and they gathered together, and went also after him.

15 So they came, and besieged him in Abel, neere to Bethmaachah: and they cast vp a mount against the citie, and the people thereof stood on the ramper, and al the people that was with Ioab, destroyed and cast downe the wall.
Eggye lyonna eryali ne Yowaabu, ne bazingiza Seba mu Aberi eky’e Besumaaka. Ne bakola ebifunvu okutuuka ku kibuga n’okwolekera ekigo. Bwe baali nga bakyamenya bbugwe,

17 And when hee came neere vnto her, the woman said, Art thou Ioab? And he answered, Yea. And she said to him, Heare the wordes of thine handmaid. And he answered, I do heare.
Yowaabu n’agenda okumpi ne we yali, omukazi n’amubuuza nti, “Ggwe Yowaabu?” N’addamu nti, “Nze nzuuyo.” N’amugamba nti, “Wuliriza omuweereza wo by’anaayogera.” N’addamu nti, “Mpuliriza.”
18 Then shee spake thus, They spake in the olde time, saying, They shoulde aske of Abel. and so haue they continued.
N’ayongera n’ayogera nti, “Edda baayogeranga nti, ‘Bw’oba ng’olina ky’obuuza genda mu Aberi,’ era ekyo kye ky’amalanga ensonga.
19 I am one of them, that are peaceable and faithful in Israel: and thou goest about to destroy a citie, and a mother in Israel: why wilt thou deuoure the inheritance of the Lord?
Ffe bantu abaagazi b’emirembe era abeesigwa mu Isirayiri. Mwagala okuzikiriza ekibuga, nnyina w’abaana mu Isirayiri. Lwaki oyagala okumira obusika bwa Mukama?”
20 And Ioab answered, and said, God forbid, God forbid it me, that I should deuoure, or destroy it.
Yowaabu n’addamu nti, “Kikafuuwe, nze okumira ekibuga kino newaakubadde okukizikiriza.
21 The matter is not so, but a man of mout Ephraim (Sheba ye sonne of Bichri by name) hath lift vp his had against ye King, euen against Dauid: deliuer vs him onely, and I will depart from the citie. And the woman saide vnto Ioab, Beholde, his head shalbe throwen to thee ouer the wall.
Si bwe kiri. Waliwo omusajja erinnya lye ye Seba, mutabani wa Bikuli, ow’omu nsi ey’ensozi eya Efulayimu, agolodde omukono gwe eri kabaka Dawudi. Bwe munaamuwaayo oyo omu yekka, nange nzija kulekayo okubalumba.”
22 Then the woman went vnto all the people with her wisedome, and they cut off the head of Sheba the sonne of Bichri, and cast it to Ioab: the he blewe the trumpet, and they retired from the citie, euery man to his tent: and Ioab returned to Ierusalem vnto the King.
