< 2 Peter 3 >

1 This seconde Epistle I nowe write vnto you, beloued, wherewith I stirre vp, and warne your pure mindes,
‌ʻE Kāinga, ʻoku ou tohi eni ʻa hono ua ʻoe tohi ni kiate kimoutolu, ʻaia ʻoku ou fai ʻi ai ke langaki hake homou loto maʻa ki he fakamanatu:
2 To call to remembrance the wordes, which were tolde before of the holy Prophetes, and also the commandement of vs the Apostles of the Lord and Sauiour.
Koeʻuhi ke mou manatu ki he ngaahi lea naʻe lea ʻaki ʻi muʻa ʻe he kau palōfita māʻoniʻoni, pea mo e fekau ʻamautolu ko e kau ʻaposetolo ʻoe ʻEiki mo e Fakamoʻui:
3 This first vnderstande, that there shall come in the last dayes, mockers, which wil walke after their lustes,
‌ʻO tomuʻa ʻilo eni, ʻe haʻu ʻae kau manuki ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ki mui, ʻo ʻaʻeva ʻi heʻenau ngaahi holi kovi ʻanautolu,
4 And say, Where is the promise of his comming? for since the fathers died, all things continue alike from the beginning of the creation.
‌ʻO nau pehē, “Kofaʻā koā ʻae talaʻofa ki heʻene haʻu? He kuo talu ʻae mohe ʻae ngaahi tamai, mo e pehē ai pe ʻae meʻa kotoa pē ʻo hangē pe ʻi hono ʻuluaki fakatupu.”
5 For this they willingly know not, that the heauens were of olde, and the earth that was of the water and by the water, by the word of God.
He ko honau loto ke nau vale ʻi he meʻa ni, ko e meʻa ʻi he folofola ʻae ʻOtua, naʻe ʻi muʻa ʻae ngaahi langi, pea tuʻu mei he vai pea ʻi he vai ʻa māmani:
6 Wherefore the worlde that then was, perished, ouerflowed with the water.
‌ʻAia naʻe lōfia ai ʻae maama ko ia ʻaki ʻae vai, pea ʻauha ia:
7 But the heauens and earth, which are nowe, are kept by the same word in store, and reserued vnto fire against the day of condemnation, and of the destruction of vngodly men.
Ka ko e ngaahi langi mo e fonua ʻoku tuʻu ni, kuo fokotuʻu ia ʻaki ʻa [ʻene ]folofola pe ko ia, ʻo fakatolonga ki he afi ʻi he ʻaho fakamaau mo e fakaʻauha ʻoe kakai angahala.
8 Dearely beloued, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord, as a thousande yeeres, and a thousande yeeres as one day.
Ka ko eni, ʻe kāinga, ke ʻoua te mou taʻeʻilo ki he meʻa ni ʻe taha, koeʻuhi ko e ʻaho ʻe taha ʻoku tatau ki he ʻEiki mo e taʻu ʻe afe, pea ko e taʻu ʻe afe ʻoku tatau mo e ʻaho pe taha.
9 The Lord of that promise is not slacke (as some men count slackenesse) but is pacient toward vs, and would haue no man to perish, but would all men to come to repentance.
‌ʻOku ʻikai fakatuotuai ʻe he ʻEiki ki heʻene talaʻofa, ʻo hangē ko e lau ʻae niʻihi ko e tuotuai; ka ʻoku kātaki fuoloa kiate kitautolu, ʻo ʻikai finangalo ke ʻauha ha tokotaha, ka koeʻuhi ke hoko ʻo fakatomala kotoa pē.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thiefe in the night, in the which the heauens shall passe away with a noyse, and the elements shall melt with heate, and the earth with the workes that are therein, shalbe burnt vp.
Ka ʻe hoko ʻae ʻaho ʻoe ʻEiki ʻo hangē ha kaihaʻa ʻi he pō; ʻaia ʻe mole ai ʻae ngaahi langi ʻi he longoaʻa lahi, pea ʻe vela ʻo ʻauha ʻae ngaahi tefitoʻi meʻa, pea ko e fonua foki mo e ngaahi ngāue ʻoku ʻi ai ʻe vela ʻo ʻosi ia.
11 Seeing therefore that all these thinges must be dissolued, what maner persons ought ye to be in holy conuersation and godlinesse,
Ko ia [ʻi heʻene pau pe ]ke ʻauha ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni kotoa pē, ko e hā ʻae anga ʻoku taau mo kimoutolu ʻi he ʻulungāanga māʻoniʻoni mo e angafakaʻotua;
12 Looking for, and hasting vnto the comming of that day of God, by the which the heauens being on fire, shall be dissolued, and the elements shall melt with heate?
‌ʻO ʻamanaki mo holi atu ki he hoko mai ʻoe ʻaho ʻoe ʻOtua, ʻaia ʻe vela ʻo ʻauha ai ʻae ngaahi langi, pea ʻe vai ʻi he vela lahi ʻae ngaahi tefitoʻi meʻa?
13 But wee looke for newe heauens, and a newe earth, according to his promise, wherein dwelleth righteousnesse.
Ka ʻoku tau ʻamanaki ki he ngaahi langi foʻou mo e fonua foʻou, ʻaia ʻoku nofo ai ʻae māʻoniʻoni, ʻo fakatatau ki heʻene talaʻofa.
14 Wherefore, beloued, seeing that yee looke for such thinges, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot and blamelesse.
Ko ia, ʻe kāinga, ko e meʻa ʻi hoʻomou ʻamanaki ki he ngaahi meʻa pehē, mou hangahanga fai pe koeʻuhi ke ʻilo ʻe ia ʻakimoutolu ʻoku mou melino taʻehaʻila, mo taʻehalaia.
15 And suppose that the long suffering of our Lord is saluation, euen as our beloued brother Paul according to the wisedome giuen vnto him wrote to you,
Pea lau ʻae kātaki fuoloa ʻa hotau ʻEiki ko e fakamoʻui; ʻo hangē ko e tohi kiate kimoutolu foki ʻe hotau kāinga ʻofeina ko Paula, ʻo fakatatau ki he poto kuo foaki kiate ia;
16 As one, that in all his Epistles speaketh of these thinges: among the which some thinges are hard to be vnderstand, which they that are vnlearned and vnstable, wrest, as they do also other Scriptures vnto their owne destruction.
Pea ʻoku pehē foki ʻa ʻene lea ai ki he ngaahi meʻa ni ʻi heʻene tohi kotoa pē; ʻaia ʻoku ʻi ai ʻae meʻa niʻihi ʻoku ʻilongataʻa, ʻaia ʻoku fai ʻe he kau taʻepoto mo lotolotoua ke fakaʻuhinga kehe, ʻo hangē foki ko e ngaahi tohi kehe, ka nau malaʻia ai.
17 Ye therefore beloued, seeing ye know these thinges before, beware, lest ye be also plucked away with the errour of the wicked, and fall from your owne stedfastnesse.
Ko ia, ʻe kāinga, ko e meʻa ʻi hoʻomou sinaki ʻilo, vakai telia naʻa takiekina foki ʻakimoutolu ʻe he hē ʻoe kakai fai kovi, pea mou hinga mei hoʻomou tuʻumaʻu ʻamoutolu.
18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Sauiour Iesus Christ: to him be glory both now and for euermore. Amen. (aiōn g165)
Kae tupulekina ʻi he ʻofa, pea mo e ʻilo ki hotau ʻEiki mo e Fakamoʻui ko Sisu Kalaisi. Ke ʻiate ia ni ʻae ongoongolelei pea taʻengata. ʻEmeni. (aiōn g165)
