2 Kings 7

1 Then Elisha saide, Heare ye the worde of the Lord: thus saith the Lord, To morowe this time a measure of fine floure shalbe solde for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel in the gate of Samaria.

Disse então Eliseu: Ouvi a palavra do SENHOR: Assim disse o SENHOR: Amanhã a estas horas a medida de boa farinha valerá um siclo, e duas medidas de cevada um siclo, à porta de Samaria.

2 Then a prince, on whose hande the King leaned, answered the man of God, and saide, Though the Lord would make windowes in the heauen, could this thing come to passe? And he said, Beholde, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not eate thereof.

E um príncipe sobre cuja mão o rei se apoiava, respondeu ao homem de Deus, e disse: Se o SENHOR fizesse agora janelas no céu, seria isto assim? E ele disse: Eis que tu o verás com teus olhos, mas não comerás disso.

3 Nowe there were foure leprous men at the entring in of the gate: and they saide one to an other, Why sitte we here vntill we die?

E havia quatro homens leprosos à entrada da porta, os quais disseram o um ao outro: Para que nos estamos aqui até que morramos?

4 If we say, We will enter into the citie, the famine is in the citie, and we shall die there: and if we sit here, we dye also. Nowe therefore come, and let vs fall into the campe of the Aramites: if they saue our liues, we shall liue: and if they kill vs, we are but dead.

Se tratarmos de entrar na cidade, pela fome que há na cidade morreremos nela; e se nos ficamos aqui, também morreremos. Vamos pois agora, e passemo-nos ao exército dos sírios; se eles nos derem a vida, viveremos; e se nos derem a morte, morreremos.

5 So they rose vp in the twilight, to goe to the campe of the Aramites: and when they were come to the vtmost part of the campe of the Aramites, loe, there was no man there.

Levantaram-se pois no princípio da noite, para ir-se ao campo dos sírios; e chegando aos primeiros abrigos dos sírios, não havia ali homem.

6 For the Lord had caused the campe of the Aramites to heare a noyse of charets and a noise of horses, and a noise of a great armie, so that they sayde one to another, Beholde, the King of Israel hath hired against vs the Kings of the Hittites, and the Kings of the Egyptians to come vpon vs.

Porque o Senhor havia feito que no campo dos sírios se ouvisse estrondo de carros, ruído de cavalos, e barulho de grande exército; e disseram-se os uns aos outros: Eis que o rei de Israel pagou contra nós aos reis dos heteus, e aos reis dos egípcios, para que venham contra nós.

7 Wherefore they arose, and fled in the twilight, and left their tentes and their horses, and their asses, euen the campe as it was, and fledde for their liues.

E assim se haviam levantado e fugido ao princípio da noite, deixando suas tendas, seus cavalos, seus asnos, e o campo como se estava; e haviam fugido por salvar as vidas.

8 And when these lepers came to the vtmost part of the campe, they entred into one tent, and did eate and drinke, and caryed thence siluer and golde, and raiment, and went and hid it: after they returned, and entred into another tent, and caryed thence also, and went and hid it.

E quando os leprosos chegaram aos primeiros abrigos, entraram-se em uma tenda, e comeram e beberam, e tomaram dali prata, e ouro, e vestido, e foram, e esconderam-no: e voltados, entraram em outra tenda, e dali também tomaram, e foram, e esconderam.

9 Then saide one to another, We doe not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we holde our peace. if we tary till day light, some mischiefe will come vpon vs. Nowe therefore, come, let vs goe, and tell the Kings housholde.

E disseram-se o um ao outro: Não fazemos bem: hoje é dia de boa nova, e nós calamos: e se esperamos até a luz da manhã, nos alcançará a maldade. Vamos pois agora, entremos, e demos a nova em casa do rei.

10 So they came, and called vnto the porters of the citie, and tolde them, saying, We came to the campe of the Aramites, and loe, there was no man there, neither voyce of man, but horses tyed and asses tyed: and the tents are as they were.

E vieram, e deram vozes aos guardas da porta da cidade, e declararam-lhes, dizendo: Nós fomos ao campo dos sírios, e eis que não havia ali homem, nem voz de homem, a não ser cavalos atados, asnos também atados, e o campo como se estava.

11 And the porters cryed and declared to the Kings house within.

E os porteiros deram vozes, e declararam-no dentro, no palácio do rei.

12 Then the King arose in the night, and saide vnto his seruants, I wil shew you now, what the Aramites haue done vnto vs. They know that we are affamished, therefore they are gone out of the campe to hide them selues in the fielde, saying, When they come out of the citie, we shall catch them aliue, and get into the citie.

E levantou-se o rei de noite, e disse a seus servos: Eu vos declararei o que nos fizeram os sírios. Eles sabem que temos fome, e saíram das tendas e esconderam-se no campo, dizendo: Quando houverem saído da cidade, os tomaremos vivos,

13 And one of his seruants answered, and said, Let me take now fiue of the horses that remaine, and are left in the citie, (behold, they are euen as all the multitude of Israel that are left therein: beholde, I say, they are as the multitude of the Israelites that are consumed) and we wil send to see.

Então respondeu um de seus servos, e disse: Tomem agora cinco dos cavalos que restaram na cidade, (porque eles também são como toda a multidão de Israel que restou nela; também eles são como toda a multidão de Israel que pereceu); e enviemos, e vejamos o que há.

14 So they tooke two charets of horses, and the King sent after the hoste of the Aramites, saying, Goe and see.

Tomaram, pois, dois cavalos de um carro, e enviou o rei atrás o campo dos sírios, dizendo: Ide, e vede.

15 And they went after them vnto Iorden, and loe, all the way was full of clothes and vessels which the Aramites had cast from them in their hast: and the messengers returned, and told ye King.

E eles foram, e seguiram-nos até o Jordão: e eis que, todo o caminho estava cheio de roupas e utensílios que os sírios haviam lançado com a pressa. E voltaram os mensageiros, e fizeram-no saber ao rei.

16 Then the people went out and spoyled the campe of the Aramites: so a measure of fine floure was at a shekel, and two measures of barley at a shekel according to the word of the Lord.

Então o povo saiu, e saquearam o campo dos sírios. E foram vendidos uma medida boa de farinha por um siclo, e duas medidas de cevada por um siclo, conforme a palavra do SENHOR.

17 And the King gaue the prince (on whose hande he leaned) the charge of the gate, and the people trode vpon him in the gate, and he dyed, as the man of God had saide, which spake it, when the King came downe to him.

E o rei pôs à porta a aquele príncipe sobre cuja mão ele se apoiava: e atropelou-lhe o povo à entrada, e morreu, conforme o que havia dito o homem de Deus, o que falou quando o rei desceu a ele.

18 And it came to passe, as the man of God had spoken to the King, saying, Two measures of barley at a shekel, and a measure of fine floure shall be at a shekel, to morowe about this time in the gate of Samaria.

Aconteceu, pois, da maneira que o homem de Deus havia falado ao rei, dizendo: Duas medidas de cevada por um siclo, e a medida de boa farinha será vendida por um siclo amanhã a estas horas, à porta de Samaria.

19 But the prince had answered the man of God, and saide, Though the Lord would make windowes in the heauen, coulde it come so to passe? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not eate thereof.

Ao qual aquele príncipe havia respondido ao homem de Deus, dizendo: Ainda que o SENHOR fizesse janelas no céu, poderia ser isso? E ele disse: Eis que tu o verás com teus olhos, mas não comerás disso.

20 And so it came vnto him: for the people trode vpon him in the gate, and he dyed.

E veio-lhe assim; porque o povo lhe atropelou à entrada, e morreu.
