2 Kings 4
1 And one of the wiues of the sonnes of the Prophets cryed vnto Elisha, saying, Thy seruant mine husband is dead, and thou knowest, that thy seruant did feare the Lord: and the creditour is come to take my two sonnes to bee his bondmen.
Agora uma certa mulher das esposas dos filhos dos profetas gritou a Eliseu, dizendo: “Seu servo meu marido está morto”. Você sabe que sua serva temia a Javé. Agora o credor veio para tomar para si meus dois filhos para serem escravos”.
2 Then Elisha saide vnto her, What shall I do for thee? tell mee, what hast thou at home? And she sayd, Thine handmayd hath nothing at home, saue a pitcher of oyle.
Elisha disse a ela: “O que devo fazer por você? Diga-me, o que você tem em casa”? Ela disse: “Seu criado não tem nada em casa, exceto um pote de óleo”.
3 And he sayde, Goe, and borowe thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, emptie vessels, and spare not.
Então ele disse: “Vá, peça emprestados recipientes vazios a todos os seus vizinhos”. Não peça emprestados apenas alguns contêineres.
4 And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the doore vpon thee and vpon thy sonnes, and powre out into all those vessels, and set aside those that are full.
Entre e feche a porta em você e em seus filhos, e despeje óleo em todos esses recipientes; e ponha de lado os que estiverem cheios”.
5 So shee departed from him, and shut the doore vpon her, and vpon her sonnes. And they brought to her, and she powred out.
Então ela se afastou dele e fechou a porta para si mesma e para seus filhos. Eles trouxeram os recipientes até ela, e ela derramou óleo.
6 And when the vessels were full, shee sayde vnto her sonne, Bring mee yet a vessel. And hee said vnto her, There is no moe vessels. And the oyle ceased.
Quando os recipientes estavam cheios, ela disse a seu filho: “Traga-me outro recipiente”. Ele disse a ela: “Não há outro recipiente”. Então o óleo parou de fluir.
7 Then shee came and tolde the man of God. And he saide, Goe, and sell the oyle, and pay them that thou art in debt vnto, and liue thou and thy children of the rest.
Então ela veio e disse ao homem de Deus. Ele disse: “Vá, venda o óleo e pague sua dívida; e você e seus filhos vivem do resto”.
8 And on a time Elisha came to Shunem, and there a woman of great estimation constrained him to eate bread: and as he passed by, he turned in thither to eate bread.
Um dia Elisha foi para Shunem, onde havia uma mulher proeminente; e ela o persuadiu a comer pão. Foi assim que, por mais que ele passasse, ele se voltava para lá para comer pão.
9 And she sayde vnto her husband, Beholde, I know now, that this is an holy man of God that passeth by vs continually.
Ela disse a seu marido: “Veja agora, percebo que este é um homem santo de Deus que passa por nós continuamente.
10 Let vs make him a litle chamber, I pray thee, with walles, and let vs set him there a bed, and a table, and a stoole, and a candlesticke, that hee may turne in thither when hee commeth to vs.
Por favor, vamos fazer um pequeno espaço no telhado. Vamos colocar ali uma cama, uma mesa, uma cadeira e um candeeiro para ele. Quando ele vem até nós, ele pode ficar lá”.
11 And on a day, hee came thither and turned into the chamber, and lay therein,
Um dia ele chegou lá, foi para a sala e se deitou lá.
12 And sayd to Gehazi his seruant, Call this Shunammite: and when hee called her, she stood before him.
Ele disse a Gehazi seu servo: “Chame este Shunammite”. Quando ele a chamou, ela ficou diante dele.
13 Then he sayd vnto him, Say vnto her now, Beholde, thou hast had all this great care for vs, what shall we doe for thee? Is there any thing to bee spoken for thee to the King or to the captaine of the hoste? And shee answered, I dwell among mine owne people.
Ele lhe disse: “Diga agora a ela: 'Veja, você cuidou de nós com todo este cuidado'. O que deve ser feito por você? Você gostaria de ser atendido pelo rei, ou pelo capitão do exército”?”. Ela respondeu: “Eu moro entre meu próprio povo”.
14 Againe he sayde, What is then to be done for her? Then Gehazi answered, In deede she hath no sonne, and her husband is olde.
Ele disse: “O que então deve ser feito por ela”? Gehazi respondeu: “Certamente ela não tem filho, e seu marido é velho”.
15 Then said he, Cal her. And hee called her, and shee stoode in the doore.
Ele disse: “Ligue para ela”. Quando ele a chamou, ela ficou de pé na porta.
16 And he said, At this time appointed, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a sonne. And she sayd, Oh my Lord, thou man of God, doe not lye vnto thine handmayd.
Ele disse: “Nesta estação do próximo ano, você abraçará um filho”. Ela disse: “Não, meu senhor, homem de Deus, não mintais a vosso servo”.
17 So the woman conceiued, and bare a sonne at that same season, according to the time of life, that Elisha had sayd vnto her.
A mulher concebeu, e deu à luz um filho naquela época em que chegou a hora, como Elisha havia dito a ela.
18 And when the childe was growen, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father, and to the reapers.
Quando a criança cresceu, um dia ele foi ter com seu pai aos ceifeiros.
19 And he sayde to his father, Mine head, mine head. Who sayd to his seruant, Beare him to his mother.
Ele disse a seu pai: “Minha cabeça! Minha cabeça!”. Ele disse a seu criado: “Leve-o até sua mãe”.
20 And hee tooke him and brought him to his mother, and hee sate on her knees till noone, and dyed.
Quando o levou e o trouxe para sua mãe, ele ficou de joelhos até o meio-dia, e depois morreu.
21 Then shee went vp, and layed him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the doore vpon him, and went out.
Ela subiu e o deitou na cama do homem de Deus, fechou a porta em cima dele e saiu.
22 Then she called to her husband, and sayd, Send with me, I pray thee, one of the yong men and one of the asses: for I will haste to the man of God, and come againe.
Ela chamou seu marido e disse: “Por favor, envie-me um dos servos, e um dos burros, para que eu possa correr para o homem de Deus e voltar novamente”.
23 And he sayd, Wherefore wilt thou goe to him to day? it is neither newe moone nor Sabbath day. And she answered, All shalbe well.
Ele disse: “Por que você quer ir até ele hoje? Não é uma lua nova ou um sábado”. Ela disse: “Está tudo bem”.
24 Then she sadled an asse, and sayde to her seruant, Driue, and goe forward: staye not for me to get vp, except I bid thee.
Então ela selou um burro, e disse ao seu criado: “Dirija, e vá em frente! Não abrande para mim, a menos que eu lhe peça”.
25 So she went, and came vnto the man of God to mount Carmel. And when the man of God sawe her ouer against him, he sayd to Gehazi his seruant, Beholde, the Shunammite.
Então ela foi, e veio ao homem de Deus para o Monte Carmelo. Quando o homem de Deus a viu de longe, ele disse a Gehazi, seu servo: “Eis que ali está o Shunammite.
26 Runne nowe, I say, to meete her, and say vnto her, Art thou in health? is thine husband in health? and is the child in health? And she answered, We are in health.
Por favor, corra agora para conhecê-la, e pergunte-lhe: “Está tudo bem com você? Está tudo bem com seu marido? Está tudo bem com seu filho?”” Ela respondeu: “Está tudo bem”.
27 And when shee came to the man of God vnto the moutaine, she caught him by his feete: and Gehazi went to her, to thrust her away: but the man of God said, Let her alone: for her soule is vexed within her, and the Lord hath hid it from me, and hath not told it mee.
Quando ela chegou ao homem de Deus ao monte, ela pegou os pés dele. Gehazi aproximou-se para afastá-la; mas o homem de Deus disse: “Deixe-a em paz, pois sua alma está perturbada dentro dela; e Javé escondeu-a de mim, e não me disse”.
28 Then she said, Did I desire a sonne of my lord? did I not say, Deceiue me not?
Então ela disse: “Será que eu lhe pedi um filho, meu senhor? Não disse eu: “Não me engane”?”
29 Then he sayd to Gehazi, Gird thy loynes, and take my staffe in thine hand, and goe thy way: if thou meete any, salute him not: and if any salute thee, answere him not: and laye my staffe vpon the face of the childe.
Então ele disse a Gehazi: “Enfie seu manto no cinto, pegue meu pessoal na mão e siga seu caminho. Se você encontrar algum homem, não o cumprimente; e se alguém o cumprimentar, não lhe responda novamente. Então ponha meu bastão no rosto da criança”.
30 And the mother of the childe sayde, As the Lord liueth, and as thy soule liueth, I will not leaue thee. Therefore he arose, and followed her.
A mãe da criança disse: “Como Yahweh vive, e como sua alma vive, eu não vou deixá-lo”. Então, ele se levantou e a seguiu.
31 But Gehazi was gone before them, and had layed the staffe vpon the face of the childe, but he neither spake nor heard: wherefore hee returned to meete him, and told him, saying, The childe is not waken.
Gehazi foi à frente deles, e colocou o pessoal no rosto da criança; mas não havia voz nem audição. Portanto, ele voltou para encontrá-lo e lhe disse: “A criança não despertou”.
32 Then came Elisha into the house, and beholde, the childe was dead, and layed vpon his bedde.
Quando Elisha entrou na casa, eis que a criança estava morta, e deitada em sua cama.
33 He went in therefore, and shut the doore vpon them twayne, and prayed vnto the Lord.
Ele entrou, portanto, e fechou a porta sobre os dois, e rezou a Javé.
34 After he went vp, and lay vpon the child, and put his mouth on his mouth, and his eyes vpon his eies, and his hands vpon his handes, and stretched himselfe vpon him, and the flesh of the child waxed warme.
Ele subiu e deitou-se sobre a criança, e colocou sua boca sobre sua boca, e seus olhos sobre seus olhos, e suas mãos sobre suas mãos. Ele se esticou sobre ele; e a carne da criança ficou quente.
35 And hee went from him, and walked vp and downe in the house, and went vp and spred himselfe vpon him: then the childe neesed seuen times, and opened his eyes.
Então ele voltou, e entrou na casa uma vez para frente e para trás, depois subiu e se esticou sobre ele. Então a criança espirrou sete vezes, e a criança abriu seus olhos.
36 Then he called Gehazi, and sayd, Call this Shunammite. So he called her, which came in vnto him. And he said vnto her, Take thy sonne.
Ele chamou Gehazi, e disse: “Chame este Shunammite!”. Então ele a chamou. Quando ela chegou até ele, ele disse: “Pegue seu filho”.
37 And she came, and fell at his feete, and bowed her selfe to the ground, and tooke vp her sonne, and went out.
Então ela entrou, caiu a seus pés e se curvou ao chão; depois pegou seu filho, e saiu.
38 Afterward Elisha returned to Gilgal, and a famine was in the land, and the children of the Prophets dwelt with him. And hee sayd vnto his seruant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the children of the Prophets.
Elisha veio novamente a Gilgal. Havia uma fome na terra; e os filhos dos profetas estavam sentados diante dele; e ele disse a seu servo: “Pegue a panela grande, e ferva guisado para os filhos dos profetas”.
39 And one went out into the fielde, to gather herbes, and founde, as it were, a wilde vine, and gathered thereof wilde gourdes his garment ful, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew it not.
Uma pessoa saiu ao campo para colher ervas, e encontrou uma videira selvagem, e colheu dela uma volta cheia de cabaças selvagens, e veio e as cortou no pote de guisado; pois não as reconheceram.
40 So they powred out for the men to eate: and when they did eate of the pottage, they cryed out, and sayde, O thou man of God, death is in the pot: and they could not eate thereof.
Então, eles derramaram para os homens comerem. Quando estavam comendo um pouco do guisado, gritaram e disseram: “Homem de Deus, há morte na panela”! E eles não puderam comê-la.
41 Then he said, Bring meale. And hee cast it into the potte, and sayd, Powre out for the people, that they may eate: and there was none euill in the pot.
Mas ele disse: “Então traga refeição”. Ele jogou-a na panela; e disse: “Sirva-a ao povo, para que ele possa comer”. E não havia nada de prejudicial na panela.
42 Then came a man from Baal-shalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the first fruits, euen twenty loaues of barley, and full eares of corne in the huske. And hee saide, Giue vnto the people, that they may eate.
Veio um homem de Baal Shalishah, e trouxe ao homem de Deus alguns pães das primeiras frutas: vinte pães de cevada e espigas frescas de grão em seu saco. Elisha disse: “Dê ao povo, para que ele possa comer”.
43 And his seruant answered, How shoulde I set this before an hundreth men? He sayd againe, Giue it vnto the people, that they may eate: for thus sayth the Lord, They shall eate, and there shall remaine.
Seu criado disse: “O quê, devo colocar isto diante de uma centena de homens?” Mas ele disse: “Dê ao povo, para que eles possam comer; pois Yahweh diz: 'Eles comerão, e terão sobras'”.
44 So he set it before them, and they did eate, and left ouer, according to the word of the Lord.
Então, ele o colocou diante deles e eles comeram e tiveram algum sobra, de acordo com a palavra de Javé.
