2 Kings 23
1 Then the King sent, and there gathered vnto him all the Elders of Iudah and of Ierusalem.
Und der König sandte hin, und man versammelte zu ihm alle Ältesten von Juda und von Jerusalem.
2 And the King went vp into the house of the Lord, with all the men of Iudah and all the inhabitants of Ierusalem with him, and the Priests and Prophets, and all the people both small and great: and he reade in their eares all the wordes of the booke of the couenant, which was found in the house of the Lord.
Und der König ging in das Haus Jehovas hinauf, und alle Männer von Juda und alle Bewohner von Jerusalem mit ihm, und die Priester und die Propheten, und alles Volk, vom Kleinsten bis zum Größten; und man las vor ihren Ohren alle Worte des Buches des Bundes, das im Hause Jehovas gefunden worden war.
3 And the King stood by the pillar, and made a couenant before the Lord, that they shoulde walke after the Lord, and keepe his commandements, and his testimonies, and his statutes with all their heart, and with all their soule, that they might accomplish the wordes of this couenant written in this booke. And all the people stood to the couenant.
Und der König stand auf dem Standorte und machte den Bund vor Jehova, Jehova nachzuwandeln und seine Gebote und seine Zeugnisse und seine Satzungen zu beobachten mit ganzem Herzen und mit ganzer Seele, um die Worte dieses Bundes zu erfüllen, welche in diesem Buche geschrieben sind. Und das ganze Volk trat in den Bund.
4 Then the King commanded Hilkiah the hie Priest and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the doore, to bring out of ye Temple of the Lord all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the groue, and for all the hoste of heauen, and he burnt them without Ierusalem in the fieldes of Kedron, and caryed the pouder of them into Beth-el.
Und der König gebot Hilkija, dem Hohenpriester, und den Priestern zweiten Ranges und den Hütern der Schwelle, aus dem Tempel Jehovas alle Geräte hinauszutun, die dem Baal und der Aschera und dem ganzen Heere des Himmels gemacht worden waren; und er verbrannte sie außerhalb Jerusalems in den Gefilden des Kidron, und ließ ihren Staub nach Bethel bringen.
5 And he put downe the Chemarims, whom the Kings of Iudah had founded to burne incense in the hie places, and in the cities of Iudah, and about Ierusalem, and also them that burnt incense vnto Baal, to the sunne and to the moone, and to the planets, and to all the hoste of heauen.
Und er schaffte die Götzenpriester [Hebr. Kemarim] ab, welche die Könige von Juda eingesetzt hatten, und die auf den Höhen, in den Städten von Juda und in der Umgebung von Jerusalem geräuchert hatten; und die, welche dem Baal, der Sonne und dem Monde und dem Tierkreise [O. den Sternbildern] und dem ganzen Heere des Himmels räucherten.
6 And he brought out the groue from the Temple of the Lord without Ierusalem vnto the valley of Kedron, and burnt it in the valley Kedron, and stampt it to pouder, and cast the dust thereof vpon the graues of the children of the people.
Und er schaffte die Aschera aus dem Hause Jehovas hinaus, außerhalb Jerusalems, in das Tal [S. die Anm. zu 4. Mose 13, 23] Kidron; und er verbrannte sie im Tale Kidron und zermalmte sie zu Staub und warf ihren Staub auf die Gräber der Kinder des Volkes. [d. h. die Gräber des gemeinen Volkes]
7 And hee brake downe the houses of the Sodomites, that were in the house of the Lord, where the women woue hangings for the groue.
Und er riß die Häuser der Buhler nieder, die sich im Hause Jehovas befanden, worin die Weiber Zelte [W. Häuser; wahrsch. Zelttempel. Vergl. Hes. 16,16] webten für die Aschera.
8 Also he brought all the priests out of the cities of Iudah, and defiled the hie places where the Priests had burnt incense, euen from Geba to Beer-sheba, and destroyed the hie places of the gates, that were in the entring in of the gate of Ioshua the gouernour of the citie, which was at the left hand of the gate of the citie.
Und er ließ alle Priester aus den Städten Judas kommen, und verunreinigte die Höhen, wo die Priester geräuchert hatten, von Geba bis Beerseba. Und er riß die Höhen der Tore nieder, die am Eingang des Tores Josuas, des Obersten der Stadt, und die am Stadttore zur Linken jedes Eintretenden waren.
9 Neuerthelesse the Priests of the hie places came not vp to the altar of the Lord in Ierusalem, saue onely they did eate of the vnleauened bread among their brethren.
Doch opferten die Priester der Höhen nicht auf dem Altar [O. gingen nicht hinauf zu dem Altar] Jehovas zu Jerusalem, sondern sie aßen Ungesäuertes in der Mitte ihrer Brüder.
10 He defiled also Topheth, which was in the valley of the children of Hinnom, that no man shoulde make his sonne or his daughter passe through the fire to Molech.
Und er verunreinigte das Topheth, [Eig. Gespei, Greuel; daher auch Greuelstätte] welches im Tale der Söhne Hinnoms lag, damit niemand mehr seinen Sohn oder seine Tochter dem Molech durchs Feuer gehen ließe.
11 He put downe also the horses that the Kings of Iudah had giuen to the sunne at the entring in of the house of the Lord, by the chamber of Nethan-melech the eunuche, which was ruler of the suburbes, and burnt the charets of the sunne with fire.
Und er schaffte die Rosse ab, welche die Könige von Juda der Sonne gesetzt hatten am Eingang des Hauses Jehovas, bei der Zelle Nethan-Meleks, des Kämmerers, der im Parwarim [Wahrsch. ein an der Westseite des äußeren Tempelvorhofs gelegener Anbau] wohnte; und die Wagen der Sonne verbrannte er mit Feuer.
12 And the altars that were on the top of the chamber of Ahaz, which the Kings of Iudah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of the Lord did the King breake downe, and hasted thence, and cast the dust of them in the brooke Kedron.
Und die Altäre, die auf dem Dache des Obergemachs des Ahas waren, welche die Könige von Juda gemacht hatten, und die Altäre, welche Manasse in den beiden Höfen des Hauses Jehovas gemacht hatte, riß der König nieder und zertrümmerte sie, [W. zertrümmerte sie von dort hinweg] und er warf ihren Staub in das Tal Kidron.
13 Moreouer the King defiled the hie places that were before Ierusalem and on the right hand of the mount of corruption (which Salomon the King of Israel had buylt for Ashtoreth the idole of the Zidonians, and for Chemosh the idole of the Moabites, and for Milchom the abomination of the children of Ammon)
Und der König verunreinigte die Höhen, die vor [d. h. östlich von] Jerusalem, zur Rechten des Berges des Verderbens waren, welche Salomo, der König von Israel, der Astoreth, dem Scheusal der Zidonier, und Kamos, [H. Kemosch] dem Scheusal Moabs, und Milkom, dem Greuel der Kinder Ammon, gebaut hatte.
14 And he brake the images in pieces, and cut downe the groues and filled their places with the bones of men.
Und er zerschlug die Bildsäulen und hieb die Ascherim um, und füllte ihre Stätte mit Menschengebeinen an.
15 Furthermore the altar that was at Beth-el, and the hie place made by Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to sinne, both this altar and also the hie place, brake he downe, and burnt the hie place, and stampt it to powder and burnt the groue.
Und auch den Altar, der zu Bethel war, die Höhe, welche Jerobeam, der Sohn Nebats, gemacht hatte, der Israel sündigen machte, auch diesen Altar und die Höhe riß er nieder; und er verbrannte die Höhe, zermalmte sie zu Staub und verbrannte die Aschera.
16 And as Iosiah turned himselfe, he spied the graues, that were in the mount, and sent and tooke the bones out of the graues, and burnt them vpon the altar and polluted it, according to the word of the Lord, that the man of God proclaimed, which cryed the same wordes.
Und als Josia sich umwandte und die Gräber sah, die daselbst in dem Berge waren, da sandte er hin und ließ die Gebeine aus den Gräbern holen und verbrannte sie auf dem Altar und verunreinigte ihn, nach dem Worte Jehovas, das der Mann Gottes ausgerufen hatte, der diese Dinge ausrief. [1. Kön. 13,2]
17 Then he sayde, What title is that which I see? And the men of the citie sayd vnto him, It is the sepulchre of the man of God, which came from Iudah, and tolde these things that thou hast done to the altar of Beth-el.
Und er sprach: Was ist das dort für ein Mal, das ich sehe? Und die Leute der Stadt sprachen zu ihm: Es ist das Grab des Mannes Gottes, der von Juda gekommen ist und diese Dinge ausgerufen hat, die du wider den Altar von Bethel getan hast.
18 Then sayde he, Let him alone: let none remooue his bones. So his bones were saued with the bones of the Prophet that came from Samaria.
Und er sprach: Laßt ihn liegen, niemand beunruhige seine Gebeine! Und so retteten sie seine Gebeine samt den Gebeinen des Propheten, der von Samaria gekommen war.
19 Iosiah also tooke away all the houses of the hie places, which were in the cities of Samaria, which the Kings of Israel had made to anger the Lord, and did to them according to all the factes that he had done in Beth-el.
Und auch alle Häuser der Höhen, die in den Städten Samarias waren, welche die Könige von Israel gemacht hatten, um Jehova zu reizen, tat Josia hinweg; und er verfuhr mit ihnen gerade so, wie er zu Bethel verfahren war.
20 And he sacrificed all the Priests of the hie places, that were there vpon the altars, and burnt mens bones vpon them, and returned to Ierusalem.
Und er schlachtete alle Priester der Höhen, die daselbst waren, auf den Altären, und verbrannte Menschengebeine auf denselben. Und er kehrte nach Jerusalem zurück.
21 Then the king commanded all the people, saying, Keepe the passeouer vnto the Lord your God, as it is written in the booke of this couenant.
Und der König gebot dem ganzen Volke und sprach: Feiert Jehova, eurem Gott, Passah, wie in diesem Buche des Bundes geschrieben steht.
22 And there was no Passeouer holden like that from the dayes of the Iudges that iudged Israel, nor in all the dayes of the Kinges of Israel, and of the Kings of Iudah.
Denn es war kein solches Passah gefeiert worden wie dieses, von den Tagen der Richter an, welche Israel gerichtet haben, und alle Tage der Könige von Israel und der Könige von Juda;
23 And in the eightenth yere of King Iosiah was this Passeouer celebrated to the Lord in Ierusalem.
sondern im achtzehnten Jahre des Königs Josia wurde dieses Passah dem Jehova zu Jerusalem gefeiert.
24 Iosiah also tooke away them that had familiar spirits, and the soothsayers, and the images, and the idoles, and al the abominations that were espied in the lande of Iudah and in Ierusalem, to performe the wordes of the Lawe, which were written in the booke that Hilkiah the Priest found in the house of the Lord.
Und auch die Totenbeschwörer und die Wahrsager, und die Teraphim [Hausgötzen] und die Götzen, und alle Scheusale, die im Lande Juda und in Jerusalem gesehen wurden, schaffte Josia hinweg, um die Worte des Gesetzes auszuführen, welche in dem Buche geschrieben standen, das der Priester Hilkija im Hause Jehovas gefunden hatte.
25 Like vnto him was there no King before him, that turned to the Lord with al his heart, and with all his soule, and with all his might according to all the Lawe of Moses, neither after him arose there anie like him.
Und vor ihm ist seinesgleichen kein König gewesen, der zu Jehova umgekehrt wäre mit seinem ganzen Herzen und mit seiner ganzen Seele und mit seiner ganzen Kraft, nach allem Gesetz Moses; und nach ihm ist seinesgleichen nicht aufgestanden.
26 Notwithstanding the Lord turned not from the fiercenesse of his great wrath wherewith he was angrie against Iudah, because of all the prouocatios wherwith Manasseh had prouoked him.
Doch kehrte Jehova nicht um von der großen Glut seines Zornes, womit sein Zorn wider Juda entbrannt war, wegen all der Reizungen, mit welchen Manasse ihn gereizt hatte.
27 Therefore the Lord saide, I will put Iudah also out of my sight, as I haue put away Israel, and will cast off this citie Ierusalem, which I haue chosen, and the house whereof I said, My name shalbe there.
Und Jehova sprach: Auch Juda will ich vor meinem Angesicht hinwegtun, wie ich Israel hinweggetan habe; und ich will diese Stadt verwerfen, die ich erwählt, Jerusalem, und das Haus, von dem ich gesagt habe: Mein Name soll daselbst sein!
28 Concerning the rest of the actes of Iosiah, and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
Und das Übrige der Geschichte Josias und alles, was er getan hat, ist das nicht geschrieben in dem Buche der Chronika der Könige von Juda?
29 In his dayes Pharaoh Nechoh King of Egypt went vp against the King of Asshur to the riuer Perath. And King Iosiah went against him, whome when Pharaoh sawe, he slewe him at Megiddo.
In seinen Tagen zog der Pharao Neko, der König von Ägypten, wider den König von Assyrien hinauf, an den Strom Phrat. Und der König Josia zog ihm entgegen; aber Neko [W. er] tötete ihn zu Megiddo, sowie er ihn sah.
30 Then his seruants caryed him dead from Megiddo, and brought him to Ierusalem, and buried him in his owne sepulchre. And the people of the lande tooke Iehoahaz the sonne of Iosiah, and anointed him, and made him King in his fathers steade.
Und seine Knechte führten ihn zu Wagen tot von Megiddo hinweg und brachten ihn nach Jerusalem; und sie begruben ihn in seinem Begräbnis. Und das Volk des Landes nahm Joahas, den Sohn Josias, und sie salbten ihn und machten ihn zum König an seines Vaters Statt.
31 Iehoahaz was three and twentie yeere olde when he beganne to reigne, and reigned three moneths in Ierusalem. His mothers name also was Hamutal the daughter of Ieremiah of Libnah.
Dreiundzwanzig [2. Chron. 36] Jahre war Joahas alt, als er König wurde, und er regierte drei Monate zu Jerusalem; und der Name seiner Mutter war Hamutal, die Tochter Jeremias, von Libna.
32 And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his fathers had done.
Und er tat, was böse war in den Augen Jehovas, nach allem, was seine Väter getan hatten.
33 And Pharaoh Nechoh put him in bondes at Riblah in the lande of Hamath, while he reigned in Ierusalem, and put the lande to a tribute of an hundreth talents of siluer, and a talent of golde.
Und der Pharao Neko setzte ihn gefangen zu Ribla im Lande Hamath, daß er nicht mehr König wäre [Nach and. Lesart: während er König war] zu Jerusalem; und er legte dem Lande eine Buße von hundert Talenten Silber und einem Talente Gold auf.
34 And Pharaoh Nechoh made Eliakim the sonne of Iosiah King in steade of Iosiah his father, and turned his name to Iehoiakim, and tooke Iehoahaz away, which when he came to Egypt, dyed there.
Und der Pharao Neko machte Eljakim, den Sohn Josias, zum König, an Josias, seines Vaters, Statt, und verwandelte seinen Namen in Jojakim; Joahas aber nahm er mit, und er kam nach Ägypten und starb daselbst.
35 And Iehoiakim gaue the siluer and the golde to Pharaoh, and taxed the land to giue the money, according to the commadement of Pharaoh: he leuyed of euery man of the people of the lande, according to his value, siluer and golde to giue vnto Pharaoh Nechoh.
Und Jojakim gab das Silber und das Gold dem Pharao; doch schätzte er das Land, um das Geld nach dem Befehle des Pharao zu geben: von dem Volke des Landes, von einem jeden nach seiner Schätzung, trieb er das Silber und das Gold ein, um es dem Pharao Neko zu geben.
36 Iehoiakim was fiue and twentie yere olde, when he began to reigne, and he reigned eleuen yeeres in Ierusalem. His mothers name also was Zebudah the daughter of Pedaiah of Rumah.
Fünfundzwanzig [2. Chron. 36,5] Jahre war Jojakim alt, als er König wurde, und er regierte elf Jahre zu Jerusalem; und der Name seiner Mutter war Sebudda, [Nach and. Lesart: Sebidda] die Tochter Pedajas, von Ruma.
37 And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his fathers had done.
Und er tat, was böse war in den Augen Jehovas, nach allem, was seine Väter getan hatten.
