2 Kings 14

1 The second yeere of Ioash sonne of Iehoahaz King of Israel reigned Amaziah the sonne of Ioash King of Iudah.

En el año segundo de Joas, hijo de Joacaz, rey de Israel, comenzó a reinar Amasías, hijo de Joas, rey de Judá.

2 He was fiue and twentie yeere olde when he began to reigne, and reigned nine and twentie yeere in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Iehoadan of Ierusalem.

Cuando comenzó a reinar era de veinte y cinco años, y veinte y nueve años reinó en Jerusalem, el nombre de su madre fue Joaddán de Jerusalem.

3 And he did vprightly in the sight of the Lord, yet not like Dauid his father, but did according to all that Ioash his father had done.

E hizo lo que era recto en ojos de Jehová, aunque no como David su padre. Hizo conforme a todas las cosas que había hecho Joas su padre.

4 Notwithstanding the hie places were not taken away: for as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense in the hie places.

Con todo eso los altos no fueron quitados, que aun el pueblo sacrificaba, y quemaba perfumes en los altos.

5 And when the kingdome was confirmed in his hand, he slewe his seruants which had killed the King his father.

Y como el reino fue confirmado en su mano, hirió a sus siervos, los que habían muerto al rey su padre.

6 But the children of those that did slay him, he slewe not, according vnto that that is written in the booke of the Lawe of Moses, wherein the Lord commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children put to death for the fathers: but euery man shall be put to death for his owne sinne.

Mas a los hijos de los que le mataron, no mató, como está escrito en el libro de la ley de Moisés, donde Jehová mandó, diciendo: No matarán a los padres por los hijos, ni a los hijos por los padres; mas cada uno morirá por su pecado.

7 He slew also of Edom in the valley of salt ten thousand, and tooke the citie of Sela by warre, and called the name thereof Ioktheel vnto this day.

Este también hirió diez mil Idumeos en el valle de las salinas, y tomó la roca por guerra, y llamóla Jectel hasta hoy.

8 Then Amaziah sent messengers to Iehoash the sonne of Iehoahaz, sonne of Iehu King of Israel, saying, Come, let vs see one another in the face.

Entonces Amasías envió embajadores a Joas, hijo de Joacaz, hijo de Jehú, rey de Israel, diciendo: Ven, y veámosnos de rostro.

9 Then Iehoash the King of Israel sent to Amaziah King of Iudah, saying, The thistle that is in Lebanon, sent to the cedar that is in Lebanon, saying, Giue thy daughter to my sonne to wife: and the wilde beast that was in Lebanon, went and trode downe the thistle.

Y Joas rey de Israel envió a Amasías rey de Judá esta respuesta: El cardillo, que está en el Líbano, envió al cedro que está en el Líbano, diciendo: Da tu hija por mujer a mi hijo. Y pasaron las bestias fieras que están en el Líbano, y hollaron al cardillo.

10 Because thou hast smitten Edom, thine heart hath made thee proud: bragge of glory, and tary at home. why doest thou prouoke to thine hurt, that thou shouldest fall, and Iudah with thee?

Hiriendo has herido a Edom, y tu corazón te ha elevado: gloríate pues, mas estáte en tu casa: ¿o por qué te entremeterás en mal para que caigas tú, y Judá contigo?

11 But Amaziah would not heare: therefore Iehoash King of Israel went vp: and he and Amaziah King of Iudah sawe one another in the face at Beth-shemesh which is in Iudah.

Y Amasías no consintió, y subió Joas rey de Israel, y viéronse de rostro él y Amasías rey de Judá en Bet-sames, que es en Judá.

12 And Iudah was put to the worse before Israel, and they fledde euery man to their tents.

Mas Judá cayó delante de Israel, y huyeron cada uno a sus estancias.

13 But Iehoash King of Israel tooke Amaziah King of Iudah, the sonne of Iehoash the sonne of Ahaziah, at Beth-shemesh, and came to Ierusalem, and brake downe the wall of Ierusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, foure hundreth cubites.

Y también Joas rey de Israel tomó a Amasías rey de Judá, hijo de Joas, hijo de Ocozías, en Bet-sames; y vino a Jerusalem, y rompió el muro de Jerusalem, desde la puerta de Efraím hasta la puerta de la esquina, cuatrocientos codos.

14 And he tooke all the gold and siluer, and all the vessels that were found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the Kings house, and the children that were in hostage, and returned to Samaria.

Y tomó todo el oro, y la plata, y todos los vasos que fueron hallados en la casa de Jehová, y en los tesoros de la casa del rey, y los hijos en rehenes, y volvióse a Samaria.

15 Concerning the rest of the acts of Iehoash which he did and his valiant deedes, and how he fought with Amaziah King of Iudah, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

Lo demás de los hechos de Joas, que hizo, y sus valentías, y como trajo guerra contra Amasías rey de Judá, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

16 And Iehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried at Samaria among the Kings of Israel: and Ieroboam his sonne reigned in his stead.

Y durmió Joas con sus padres, y fue sepultado en Samaria con los reyes de Israel, y reinó en su lugar Jeroboam su hijo.

17 And Amaziah the sonne of Ioash King of Iudah, liued after the death of Iehoash sonne of Iehoahaz King of Israel fifteene yeere.

Y vivió Amasías, hijo de Joas, rey de Judá, después de la muerte de Joas, hijo de Joacaz, rey de Israel, quince años.

18 Concerning the rest of the actes of Amaziah, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?

Lo demás de los hechos de Amasías, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

19 But they wrought treason against him in Ierusalem, and he fled to Lachish, but they sent after him to Lachish, and slewe him there.

E hicieron conspiración contra él en Jerusalem, y huyendo él a Laquis, enviaron tras él a Laquis, y allá le mataron.

20 And they brought him on horses, and he was buried at Ierusalem with his fathers in the citie of Dauid.

Y trajéronle sobre caballos, y le sepultaron en Jerusalem en la ciudad de David con sus padres.

21 Then all the people of Iudah tooke Azariah which was sixteene yeere olde, and made him King for his father Amaziah.

Entonces todo el pueblo de Judá tomó a Azarías, que era de diez y seis años, e hiciéronle rey en lugar de Amasías su padre.

22 He built Elath, and restored it to Iudah, after that the King slept with his fathers.

Este edificó a Elat, y la restituyó a Judá, después que el rey durmió con sus padres.

23 In the fifteenth yeere of Amaziah the sonne of Ioash King of Iudah, was Ieroboam the sonne of Ioash made King ouer Israel in Samaria, and reigned one and fourtie yeere.

El año quince de Amasías, hijo de Joas, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Jeroboam, hijo de Joas, sobre Israel en Samaria cuarenta y un años.

24 And he did euill in the sight of the Lord: for he departed not from all the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to sinne.

E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, y no se apartó de todos los pecados de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, el que hizo pecar a Israel.

25 He restored the coast of Israel, from the entring of Hamath, vnto the Sea of the wildernesse, according to the worde of the Lord God of Israel, which he spake by his seruant Ionah the sonne of Amittai the Prophet, which was of Gath Hepher.

Este restituyó los términos de Israel desde la entrada de Emat, hasta la mar de la llanura, conforme a la palabra de Jehová Dios de Israel, la cual él había hablado por su siervo Jonás, hijo de Amati, profeta, que fue de Get de Ofer.

26 For the Lord saw the exceeding bitter affliction of Israel, so that there was none shutte vp, nor any left, neyther yet any that could helpe Israel.

Por cuanto Jehová miró la aflicción de Israel muy amarga, que ni había guardado ni desamparado, ni había quien diese ayuda a Israel.

27 Yet the Lord had not decreed to put out the name of Israel from vnder the heauen: therefore he preserued them by the hand of Ieroboam the sonne of Ioash.

Y Jehová no había aun determinado de raer el nombre de Israel debajo del cielo, por tanto los salvó por mano de Jeroboam, hijo de Joas.

28 Concerning the rest of the actes of Ieroboam, and all that he did, and his valiant deedes, and how he fought, and how he restored Damascus, and Hamath to Iudah in Israel, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

Y lo demás de los hechos de Jeroboam, y todas las cosas que hizo, y su valentía, y todas las guerras que hizo, y como restituyó a Judá en Israel a Damasco, y a Emat, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

29 So Ieroboam slept with his fathers, euen with the Kings of Israel, and Zachariah his sonne reigned in his steade.

Y durmió Jeroboam con sus padres los reyes de Israel, y reinó en su lugar Zacarías su hijo.
