2 Corinthians 8
1 We doe you also to wit, brethren, of the grace of God bestowed vpon the Churches of Macedonia,
Tambem, irmãos, vos fazemos saber a graça de Deus dada ás egrejas da Macedonia:
2 Because in great triall of affliction their ioy abounded, and their most extreme pouertie abounded vnto their rich liberalitie.
Como em muita prova de tribulação houve abundancia do seu gozo, e como a sua profunda pobreza abundou em riquezas de sua beneficencia.
3 For to their power (I beare record) yea, and beyonde their power, they were willing,
Porque, segundo o seu poder (o que eu mesmo testifico), e ainda acima do seu poder, deram voluntariamente,
4 And praied vs with great instance that we woulde receiue the grace, and fellowship of the ministring which is toward the Saints.
Pedindo-nos com muitos rogos a graça e a communicação d'este serviço, que se fazia para com os sanctos.
5 And this they did, not as we looked for: but gaue their owne selues, first to the Lord, and after vnto vs by the will of God,
E fizeram não sómente como nós esperavamos, mas a si mesmos se deram primeiramente ao Senhor, e depois a nós, pela vontade de Deus.
6 That we should exhort Titus, that as hee had begon, so he would also accomplish the same grace among you also.
De maneira que exhortámos a Tito que, assim como d'antes começou, assim tambem acabe esta mercê entre vós.
7 Therefore, as yee abound in euery thing, in faith and woorde, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your loue towardes vs, euen so see that yee abound in this grace also.
Portanto, assim como em tudo abundaes em fé, e em palavra, e em sciencia, e em toda a diligencia, e em a vossa caridade para comnosco, assim tambem abundeis n'esta graça.
8 This say I not by commandement, but because of the diligence of others: therefore prooue I the naturalnesse of your loue.
Não digo isto como quem manda, senão tambem para provar, pela diligencia dos outros, a sinceridade da vossa caridade.
9 For ye knowe the grace of our Lord Iesus Christ, that hee being rich, for your sakes became poore, that yee through his pouertie might be made rich.
Porque já sabeis a graça de nosso Senhor Jesus Christo, que, sendo rico, por amor de vós se fez pobre; para que pela sua pobreza enriquecesseis.
10 And I shewe my minde herein: for this is expedient for you, which haue begun not to doe onely, but also to will, a yeare agoe.
E n'isto dou o meu parecer; pois que isto vos convém a vós, que desde o anno passado começastes não só o praticar, mas tambem o desejar.
11 Nowe therefore performe to doe it also, that as there was a readinesse to will, euen so yee may performe it of that which yee haue.
Agora, porém, completae tambem o já começado, para que, assim como houve a promptidão de vontade, haja tambem o cumprimento, segundo o que tendes.
12 For if there be first a willing minde, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
Porque, se primeiro houver promptidão de vontade, será acceite segundo o que qualquer tem, e não segundo o que não tem
13 Neither is it that other men should be eased and you grieued: But vpon like condition, at this time your abundance supplieth their lacke:
Porém, não digo isto para que os outros tenham allivio, e vós oppressão,
14 That also their aboundance may bee for your lacke, that there may be equalitie:
Mas para egualdade; n'este tempo presente, a vossa abundancia suppra a falta dos outros, para que tambem a sua abundancia suppra a vossa falta, para que haja egualdade;
15 As it is written, Hee that gathered much, had nothing ouer, and hee that gathered litle, had not the lesse.
Como está escripto: O que muito colheu não teve de mais; e o que pouco não teve de menos.
16 And thanks be vnto God, which hath put in the heart of Titus the same care for you.
Porém, graças a Deus, que poz a mesma solicitude por vós no coração de Tito
17 Because hee accepted the exhortation, yea, hee was so carefull that of his owne accorde hee went vnto you.
Pois acceitou a exhortação, e muito diligente partiu voluntariamente para vós.
18 And wee haue sent also with him the brother, whose praise is in the Gospel throughout al the Churches.
E com elle enviámos aquelle irmão que tem louvor no evangelho em todas as egrejas.
19 (And not so onely, but is also chosen of the Churches to be a fellowe in our iourney, concerning this grace that is ministred by vs vnto the glorie of the same Lord, and declaration of your prompt minde)
E não só isto, mas foi tambem escolhido pelas egrejas para companheiro da nossa viagem, n'esta graça, que por nós é ministrada para gloria do mesmo Senhor, e promptidão do vosso animo
20 Auoiding this, that no man shoulde blame vs in this aboundance that is ministred by vs,
Evitando isto, que alguem nos vitupere n'esta abundancia, que por nós e ministrada:
21 Prouiding for honest thinges, not onely before the Lord, but also before men.
Como quem procura o que é honesto, não só diante do Senhor, mas tambem diante dos homens.
22 And we haue sent with them our brother, whom we haue oft times prooued to be diligent in many thinges, but nowe much more diligent, for the great confidence, which I haue in you.
Com elles enviámos tambem outro nosso irmão, o qual muitas vezes, e em muitas coisas já experimentámos que é diligente, e agora muito mais diligente ainda pela muita confiança que em vós tem.
23 Whether any doe inquire of Titus, he is my fellowe and helper to you ward: or of our brethren, they are messengers of the Churches, and the glorie of Christ.
Quanto a Tito, é meu companheiro, e cooperador para comvosco: quanto a nossos irmãos, são embaixadores das egrejas e gloria de Christo.
24 Wherefore shew toward them, and before the Churches the proofe of your loue, and of the reioycing that we haue of you.
Portanto mostrae para com elles, perante a face das egrejas, a prova da vossa caridade, e da nossa gloria ácerca de vós.
