2 Corinthians 5
1 For we knowe that if our earthly house of this tabernacle be destroyed, we haue a building giuen of God, that is, an house not made with handes, but eternall in the heauens. (aiōnios g166)
Porque sabemos que, se a nossa casa terrestre d'este tabernaculo se desfizer, temos de Deus um edificio, uma casa não feita por mãos, eterna nos céus. (aiōnios g166)
2 For therefore we sighe, desiring to be clothed with our house, which is from heauen.
E por isso tambem gememos, desejando ser revestidos da nossa habitação, que é do céu;
3 Because that if we be clothed, we shall not be found naked.
Se todavia formos achados vestidos, e não nús.
4 For in deede we that are in this tabernacle, sigh and are burdened, because we would not be vnclothed, but would be clothed vpon, that mortalitie might be swalowed vp of life.
Porque tambem nós, os que estamos n'este tabernaculo, gememos carregados: porque não queremos ser despidos, mas revestidos, para que o mortal seja absorvido pela vida.
5 And he that hath created vs for this thing, is God, who also hath giuen vnto vs the earnest of the Spirit.
Ora, quem para isto mesmo nos preparou foi Deus, o qual nos deu tambem o penhor do Espirito.
6 Therefore we are alway bolde, though we knowe that whiles we are at home in the bodie, we are absent from the Lord.
Pelo que estamos sempre de bom animo, sabendo que, emquanto estamos no corpo, vivemos ausentes do Senhor.
7 (For we walke by faith, and not by sight.)
(Porque andamos por fé, e não por vista.)
8 Neuerthelesse, we are bolde, and loue rather to remoue out of the body, and to dwell with the Lord.
Porém temos confiança e desejamos muito deixar este corpo, e habitar com o Senhor.
9 Wherefore also we couet, that both dwelling at home, and remouing from home, we may be acceptable to him.
Pelo que muito desejamos tambem ser-lhe agradaveis, quer presentes, quer ausentes.
10 For we must all appeare before the iudgement seate of Christ, that euery man may receiue the things which are done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or euill.
Porque todos devemos comparecer ante o tribunal de Christo, para que cada um receba segundo o que tiver feito no corpo, ou bem, ou mal.
11 Knowing therefore that terrour of the Lord, we persuade men, and we are made manifest vnto God, and I trust also that we are made manifest in your consciences.
Assim que, sabendo o temor que se deve ao Senhor, persuadimos os homens á fé, e somos manifestos a Deus; mas espero que nas vossas consciencias estejamos tambem manifestos.
12 For we prayse not our selues againe vnto you, but giue you an occasion to reioyce of vs, that ye may haue to answere against them, which reioyce in the face, and not in the heart.
Porque não nos recommendámos outra vez a vós; mas damo-vos occasião de vos gloriardes de nós, para que tenhaes que responder aos que se gloriam na apparencia, e não no coração.
13 For whether we be out of our wit, we are it to God: or whether we be in our right minde, we are it vnto you.
Porque, se enlouquecemos, é para Deus; e, se conservamos o juizo, é para vós.
14 For that loue of Christ constraineth vs,
Porque o amor de Christo nos constrange, julgando nós isto: que, se um morreu por todos, logo todos morreram.
15 Because we thus iudge, that if one be dead for all, then were all dead, and he died for all, that they which liue, shoulde not henceforth liue vnto themselues, but vnto him which died for them, and rose againe.
E elle morreu por todos, para que os que vivem não vivam mais para si, senão para aquelle que por elles morreu e resuscitou.
16 Wherefore, henceforth know we no man after the flesh, yea though wee had knowen Christ after the flesh, yet nowe henceforth know we him no more.
Assim que d'aqui por diante a ninguem conhecemos segundo a carne, e, ainda que tambem tenhamos conhecido Christo segundo a carne, todavia agora já o não conhecemos d'este modo.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, let him be a newe creature. Olde things are passed away: beholde, all things are become newe.
Assim que, se alguem está em Christo, nova creatura é: as coisas velhas já passaram; eis que tudo está feito novo.
18 And all things are of God, which hath reconciled vs vnto himselfe by Iesus Christ, and hath giuen vnto vs the ministerie of reconciliation.
E tudo isto provém de Deus que nos reconciliou comsigo mesmo por Jesus Christo, e nos deu o ministerio da reconciliação.
19 For God was in Christ, and reconciled the world to himselfe, not imputing their sinnes vnto them, and hath committed to vs the word of reconciliation.
Porque Deus estava em Christo reconciliando comsigo o mundo, não lhes imputando os seus peccados; e poz em nós a palavra da reconciliação.
20 Now then are we ambassadours for Christ: as though God did beseeche you through vs, we pray you in Christes steade, that ye be reconciled to God.
De sorte que somos embaixadores da parte de Christo, como se Deus por nós rogasse. Rogamos-vos pois da parte de Christo que vos reconcilieis com Deus.
21 For he hath made him to be sinne for vs, which knewe no sinne, that we should be made the righteousnesse of God in him.
Áquelle que não conheceu peccado, fel-o peccado por nós; para que n'elle fossemos feitos justiça de Deus.
