2 Chronicles 22
1 And the inhabitants of Ierusalem made Ahaziah his yongest sonne King in his steade: for the armie that came with the Arabians to the campe, had slayne all the eldest: therefore Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah reigned.
૧યરુશાલેમના રહેવાસીઓએ તેના સ્થાને યહોરામના સૌથી નાના દીકરા અહાઝયાહને રાજા તરીકે નિયુક્ત કર્યો; કેમ કે આરબો સાથે જે માણસો છાવણીમાં આવ્યા હતા, તેઓએ તેના બધા મોટા દીકરાઓને મારી નાખ્યા હતા. તેથી યહોરામનો દીકરો અહાઝયાહ યહૂદાનો રાજા બન્યો.
2 Two and fourtie yeere olde was Ahaziah when he began to reigne, and he reigned one yeere in Ierusalem. and his mothers name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.
૨અહાઝયાહ રાજા થયો ત્યારે તે બેતાળીસ વર્ષનો હતો; તેણે યરુશાલેમમાં એક વર્ષ રાજય કર્યુ. તેની માતાનું નામ અથાલ્યા હતું. તે ઓમ્રીની દીકરી હતી.
3 He walked also in the wayes of the house of Ahab: for his mother counselled him to doe wickedly.
૩તે પણ આહાબના કુટુંબનાં માર્ગમાં ચાલ્યો કેમ કે તેની માતા તેને ખોટા કાર્યો કરવાની સલાહ આપતી હતી.
4 Wherefore he did euill in the sight of the Lord, like the house of Ahab: for they were his counsellers after the death of his father, to his destruction.
૪આહાબના કુટુંબની જેમ અહાઝયાહએ ઈશ્વરની દ્રષ્ટિમાં જે ખોટું હતું તે કર્યુ, કારણ કે તેના પિતાના મૃત્યુ પછી તેઓ તેનો નાશ થાય એવાં સલાહસૂચનો આપતા હતા.
5 And he walked after their counsel, and went with Iehoram the sonne of Ahab King of Israel to fight against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth Gilead: and the Aramites smote Ioram.
૫અને તે તેઓની ખોટી સલાહ માનતો હતો; રામોથ ગિલ્યાદ તરફ હઝાએલની વિરુદ્ધ યુદ્ધ કરવા માટે તે ઇઝરાયલના રાજા, આહાબના દીકરા યોરામ સાથે ગયો. અરામીઓએ યોરામને ઘાયલ કર્યો.
6 And he returned to be healed in Izreel, because of the woundes wherewith they had wounded him at Ramah, when he fought with Hazael King of Aram. Nowe Azariah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah went downe to see Iehoram the sonne of Ahab at Izreel, because hee was diseased.
૬રામા આગળ અરામના રાજા હઝાએલ વિરુદ્ધ લડતાં જે ઘા થયેલો તેમાંથી સાજો થવા માટે યહોરામ યિઝ્એલ પાછો ગયો. તેથી યરોહામનો દીકરો અહાઝયાહ જે યહૂદાનો રાજા હતો, યોરામની ખબર કાઢવા યિઝ્રએલ ગયો. યોરામ અરામના સૈન્યથી ઘવાયેલો હતો.
7 And the destruction of Ahaziah came of God in that he went to Ioram: for when he was come, he went forth with Iehoram against Iehu the sonne of Nimshi, whom the Lord had anointed to destroy the house of Ahab.
૭હવે અહાઝયાહ યોરામને ત્યાં ગયો માટે ઈશ્વર અહાઝયાહ પર નાશ લાવવાના હતા. જ્યારે તે ત્યાં પહોંચ્યો ત્યારે તે યહોરામ સાથે નિમ્શીના દીકરા યેહૂ કે જેને ઈશ્વરે આહાબના કુટુંબનો નાશ કરવા અભિષિક્ત કર્યો હતો, તેની સામે ગયો.
8 Therefore when Iehu executed iudgement vpon the house of Ahab, and found the princes of Iudah and the sonnes of the brethren of Ahaziah that waited on Ahaziah, he slew them also.
૮એવું બન્યું કે જયારે યેહૂ આહાબના કુટુંબ પર ઈશ્વરના ન્યાયાસનનો અમલ કરતો હતો ત્યારે તે યહૂદાના આગેવાનો અને અહાઝયાહની સેવામાં રહેતા તેના ભાઈઓને મળ્યો. યેહૂએ તેઓને મારી નાખ્યા.
9 And he sought Ahaziah, and they caught him where he was hid in Samaria, and brought him to Iehu, and slewe him, and buryed him, because, sayd they, he is the sonne of Iehoshaphat, which sought the Lord with all his heart. So the house of Ahaziah was not able to reteine the kingdome.
૯યેહૂએ અહાઝયાહને શોધ્યો. તે સમરુનમાં સંતાઈ ગયો હતો, પણ યેહૂના માણસો તેને ત્યાંથી પકડીને યેહૂ પાસે લાવ્યા અને તેઓએ તેને મારી નાખ્યો. પછી તેઓએ તેને દફનાવ્યો. કેમ કે, તેઓએ કહ્યું, “યહોશાફાટ કે જે ખરા હૃદયથી ઈશ્વરની શોધ કરતો હતો તેનો તે દીકરો છે.” તેથી અહાઝયાહ પછી તેના કુટુંબમાં યોઆશ વિના રાજય ચલાવી શકે એવો કોઈ સામર્થ્ય રહ્યો ન હતો.
10 Therefore when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah sawe that her sonne was dead, shee arose and destroyed all the Kings seede of the house of Iudah.
૧૦હવે જ્યારે અહાઝયાહની માતા અથાલ્યાએ જોયું કે તેનો દીકરો મૃત્યુ પામ્યો છે. તેણે ત્યારે ઊઠીને યહૂદિયાના રાજ કુટુંબનાં સર્વ રાજકુંવરોને મારી નાખ્યા.
11 But Iehoshabeath the daughter of ye King, tooke Ioash the sonne of Ahaziah, and stale him from among the Kings sonnes, that shoulde be slayne, and put him and his nource in the bed chamber: so Iehoshabeath the daughter of King Iehoram the wife of Iehoiada the Priest (for shee was the sister of Ahaziah) hid him from Athaliah: so she slew him not.
૧૧પણ રાજાની દીકરી યહોશાબાથ અહાઝયાહના દીકરા યોઆશને જે રાજાના દીકરાઓને મારી નાખવામાં આવતા હતા તેઓની વચ્ચેથી સંતાડીને તેની દાઈના શયનખંડમાં લઈ ગઈ. યહોશાબાથ, રાજા યહોરામની દીકરી અને યાજક યહોયાદાની પત્ની હતી. તે અહાઝયાહની બહેન પણ હતી. તેણે યોઆશને અથાલ્યાથી સંતાડી દીધો હતો, તેથી અથાલ્યા તેને મારી શકી નહિ.
12 And hee was with them hid in the house of God sixe yeeres, whiles Athaliah reigned ouer the land.
૧૨રાજકુંવર યોઆશ તેઓની સાથે છ વરસ સુધી ઈશ્વરના ઘરમાં સંતાઈ રહ્યો. તે સમય દરમિયાન દેશ ઉપર અથાલ્યા રાજય કરતી હતી.
