2 Chronicles 22
1 And the inhabitants of Ierusalem made Ahaziah his yongest sonne King in his steade: for the armie that came with the Arabians to the campe, had slayne all the eldest: therefore Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah reigned.
Hierauf machten die Bewohner Jerusalems seinen jüngsten Sohn Ahasjahu an seiner Statt zum Könige; denn alle älteren hatte die Horde getötet, die unter den Arabern zum Lager gekommen war, und so ward Ahasjahu, der Sohn des Königs Jehoram von Juda, König.
2 Two and fourtie yeere olde was Ahaziah when he began to reigne, and he reigned one yeere in Ierusalem. and his mothers name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.
Zweiundzwanzig Jahre war Ahasjahu alt, als er König ward, und ein Jahr regierte er zu Jerusalem. Seine Mutter aber hieß Athalja, die Enkelin Omris.
3 He walked also in the wayes of the house of Ahab: for his mother counselled him to doe wickedly.
Auch er wandelte in den Wegen des Hauses Ahabs, denn seine Mutter leitete ihn durch ihre Ratschläge zum Freveln an.
4 Wherefore he did euill in the sight of the Lord, like the house of Ahab: for they were his counsellers after the death of his father, to his destruction.
Also that er, was Jahwe mißfiel, wie die vom Hause Ahabs; denn diese wurden nach dem Tode seines Vaters seine Berater, zum Verderben für ihn.
5 And he walked after their counsel, and went with Iehoram the sonne of Ahab King of Israel to fight against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth Gilead: and the Aramites smote Ioram.
Ihrem Rate folgend zog er auch mit Joram, dem Sohne Ahabs, dem Könige von Israel, in den Krieg wider Hasael, den König von Aram, gen Ramoth in Gilead; aber die Aramäer verwundeten Joram.
6 And he returned to be healed in Izreel, because of the woundes wherewith they had wounded him at Ramah, when he fought with Hazael King of Aram. Nowe Azariah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah went downe to see Iehoram the sonne of Ahab at Izreel, because hee was diseased.
Da kehrte er zurück, um sich in Jesreel von den Wunden heilen zu lassen, die man ihm zu Rama beigebracht hatte, als er mit Hasael, dem Könige von Aram, kämpfte. Ahasjahu aber, der Sohn Jehorams, der König von Juda, war hinabgekommen, um Joram, den Sohn Ahabs, zu Jesreel zu besuchen, weil er krank lag.
7 And the destruction of Ahaziah came of God in that he went to Ioram: for when he was come, he went forth with Iehoram against Iehu the sonne of Nimshi, whom the Lord had anointed to destroy the house of Ahab.
Es war aber zum Untergang Ahasjahus von Gott verhängt, daß er sich zu Joram begab. Als er hinkam, ging er mit Joram hinaus zu Jehu, dem Sohne Nimsis, den Jahwe hatte salben lassen, damit er das Haus Ahabs ausrotte.
8 Therefore when Iehu executed iudgement vpon the house of Ahab, and found the princes of Iudah and the sonnes of the brethren of Ahaziah that waited on Ahaziah, he slew them also.
Als nun Jehu das Strafgericht am Hause Ahabs vollzog, stieß er auf die Obersten Judas und die Söhne der Brüder Ahasjahus, welche Ahasjahu bedienten, und ließ sie niedermetzeln.
9 And he sought Ahaziah, and they caught him where he was hid in Samaria, and brought him to Iehu, and slewe him, and buryed him, because, sayd they, he is the sonne of Iehoshaphat, which sought the Lord with all his heart. So the house of Ahaziah was not able to reteine the kingdome.
Sodann ließ er Ahasjahu suchen, und man fing ihn, während er sich zu Samaria versteckt hielt. Da brachten sie ihn zu Jehu und töteten ihn. Alsdann aber begruben sie ihn; denn sie sprachen: es ist der Sohn Josaphats, der von ganzem Herzen zu Jahwe hielt! Es war aber vom Hause Ahasjahus niemand mehr vorhanden, der imstande gewesen wäre, die Königswürde zu übernehmen.
10 Therefore when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah sawe that her sonne was dead, shee arose and destroyed all the Kings seede of the house of Iudah.
Als aber Athalja, die Mutter Ahasjahus, erfuhr, daß ihr Sohn tot sei, ging sie ans Werk und brachte die ganze königliche Familie des Hauses Juda um.
11 But Iehoshabeath the daughter of ye King, tooke Ioash the sonne of Ahaziah, and stale him from among the Kings sonnes, that shoulde be slayne, and put him and his nource in the bed chamber: so Iehoshabeath the daughter of King Iehoram the wife of Iehoiada the Priest (for shee was the sister of Ahaziah) hid him from Athaliah: so she slew him not.
Joseba aber, die Tochter des Königs, nahm Jehoas, den Sohn Ahasjahus, und brachte ihn mitten aus den Königssöhnen, die getötet werden sollten, hinweg in Sicherheit und steckte ihn mit seiner Amme in die Bettkammer. So verbarg ihn Joseba, die Tochter des Königs Jehoram, die Gemahlin des Oberpriesters Jojada, - denn sie war die Schwester Ahasjahus - vor Athalja, daß sie ihn nicht tötete.
12 And hee was with them hid in the house of God sixe yeeres, whiles Athaliah reigned ouer the land.
Und er war bei ihnen im Tempel Gottes sechs Jahre lang versteckt, während Athalja über das Land herrschte.
