2 Chronicles 19
1 And Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah returned safe to his house in Ierusalem.
Giô-sa-phát, vua Giu-đa, trở về bình an nơi cung mình tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.
2 And Iehu the sonne of Hanani the Seer went out to meete him, and said to King Iehoshaphat, Wouldest thou helpe the wicked, and loue them that hate the Lord? therefore for this thing the wrath of the Lord is vpon thee.
Giê-hu, con trai của Ha-na-ni, đấng tiên kiến, đi ra đón vua Giô-sa-phát, mà nói rằng: Vua há giúp đỡ kẻ hung ác, và thương mến kẻ ghen ghét Ðức Giê-hô-va sao? Bởi cớ đó, có cơn giận của Ðức Giê-hô-va đến trên vua.
3 Neuertheles good things are found in thee, because thou hast taken away ye groues out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seeke God.
Nhưng trong vua có điều lành, vì vua có trừ diệt khỏi xứ những thần A-sê-ra, và rắp lòng tìm cầu Ðức Chúa Trời.
4 So Iehoshaphat dwelt at Ierusalem, and returned and went through the people from Beer-sheba to mount Ephraim, and brought them againe vnto the Lord God of their fathers.
Giô-sa-phát ở tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. Ðoạn, người lại đi ra tuần soát dân sự, từ Bê -e-Sê-ba cho đến núi Ép-ra-im, dẫn dắt chúng trở về cùng Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời của tổ phụ họ.
5 And hee set iudges in the lande throughout all the strong cities of Iudah, citie by citie,
Người lập quan xét trong khắp nước, tại các thành bền vững của Giu-đa, thành nào cũng có.
6 And said to the iudges, Take heede what ye doe: for yee execute not the iudgements of man, but of the Lord, and he will be with you in the cause and iudgement.
Rồi người bảo các quan xét rằng: Hãy cẩn thận việc các người làm; vì chẳng phải vì loài người mà các ngươi xét đoán đâu, bèn là vì Ðức Giê-hô-va; Ngài sẽ ở cùng các ngươi trong việc xét đoán.
7 Wherefore nowe let the feare of the Lord be vpon you: take heede, and do it: for there is no iniquitie with the Lord our God, neither respect of persons, nor receiuing of reward.
Vậy bây giờ, phải kính sợ Ðức Giê-hô-va, khá cẩn thận mà làm; vì Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời của chúng ta chẳng trái phép công bình, chẳng thiên vị người, chẳng nhận của hối lộ.
8 Moreouer in Ierusalem did Iehoshaphat set of the Leuites, and of the Priests and of the chiefe of the families of Israel, for the iudgement and cause of the Lord: and they returned to Ierusale.
Lại Giô-sa-phát cũng chọn mấy người Lê-vi, thầy tế lễ và trưởng tộc của Y-sơ-ra-ên, đặt họ tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, đặng vì Ðức Giê-hô-va mà đoán xét và phân xử việc kiện cáo. Chúng đều trở về Giê-ru-sa-lem.
9 And he charged them, saying, Thus shall yee doe in the feare of the Lord faithfully and with a perfite heart.
Người dạy biểu chúng rằng: Các ngươi phải kính sợ Ðức Giê-hô-va, lấy lòng trọn lành trung tín mà làm như vậy.
10 And in euery cause that shall come to you of your brethren that dwel in their cities, betweene blood and blood, betweene law and precept, statutes and iudgements, ye shall iudge them, and admonish them that they trespasse not against the Lord, that wrath come not vpon you and vpon your brethren. This shall ye do and trespasse not.
Hễ có anh em các ngươi ở trong các thành họ, đem đến trước mặt các ngươi việc tranh tụng nào, hoặc vì sự đổ huyết, hoặc vì phạm luật lệ và điều răn, giới mạng và pháp độ, thì các ngươi phải dạy bảo họ chớ phạm tội cùng Ðức Giê-hô-va, e có cơn giận nghịch cùng các ngươi và anh em các ngươi: các ngươi làm như vậy, ắt không gây cho mình mắc tội.
11 And behold, Amariah the Priest shalbe the chiefe ouer you in all matters of the Lord, and Zebadiah ye sonne of Ishmael, a ruler of the house of Iudah, shalbe for al the Kings affaires, and the Leuites shalbe officers before you. Bee of courage, and doe it, and the Lord shalbe with the good.
Nầy thầy tế lễ cả A-ma-ria, sẽ quản lý những việc thuộc về Ðức Giê-hô-va, và Xê-ba-đia, con trai Ích-ma-ên, trưởng tộc chi phái Giu-đa, sẽ quản lý những việc thuộc về vua; trước mặt các ngươi cũng có những người Lê-vi làm quan cai. Các ngươi khác làm việc cách can đởm, và Ðức Giê-hô-va sẽ ở cùng người thiện.
