2 Chronicles 18
1 And Iehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, but he was ioyned in affinitie with Ahab.
Giô-sa-phát đã được nhiều của cải và sự vinh hiển, bèn kết sui gia cùng A-háp.
2 And after certaine yeeres he went downe to Ahab to Samaria: and Ahab slew sheepe and oxen for him in great nomber, and for the people that he had with him, and entised him to goe vp vnto Ramoth Gilead.
Cách một vài năm, người đi xuống A-háp tại Sa-ma-ri, A-háp giết nhiều chiên bò ăn mừng Giô-sa-phát và dân sự theo người, rồi khuyên người đi lên hãm đánh Ra-mốt tại Ga-la-át.
3 And Ahab King of Israel saide vnto Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, Wilt thou goe with mee to Ramoth Gilead? And hee answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people, and wee will ioyne with thee in the warre.
A-háp, vua Y-sơ-ra-ên, nói với Giô-sa-phát, vua Giu-đa, rằng: Vua muốn đến cùng tôi hãm đánh Ra-mốt tại Ga-la-át chăng? Người đáp: Tôi cũng như vua; dân sự tôi cũng như dân sự vua; tôi sẽ cùng vua đi chinh chiến.
4 And Iehoshaphat sayde vnto the King of Israel, Aske counsel, I pray thee, at the worde of the Lord this day.
Giô-sa-phát lại nói với vua Y-sơ-ra-ên rằng: Tôi xin vua hãy cần vấn Ðức Giê-hô-va trước đã.
5 Therefore the King of Israel gathered of Prophets foure hundreth men, and sayde vnto them, Shall we goe to Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall I cease? And they sayd, Go vp: for God shall deliuer it into the Kings hand.
Vua Y-sơ-ra-ên nhóm các tiên tri, số là bốn trăm người, mà hỏi rằng: Chúng ta có nên đánh Ra-mốt tại Ga-la-át, hay là chẳng nên? Chúng đáp rằng: Hãy đi lên; Ðức Chúa Trời sẽ phó nó vào tay vua.
6 But Iehoshaphat sayde, Is there heere neuer a Prophet more of the Lord that wee might inquire of him?
Nhưng Giô-sa-phát tiếp rằng: Ở đây, còn có một đấng tiên tri nào khác của Ðức Giê-hô-va, để chúng ta hỏi người ấy chăng?
7 And the King of Israel sayd vnto Iehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whome wee may aske counsell of the Lord, but I hate him: for he doeth not prophesie good vnto me, but alway euil: it is Michaiah the sonne of Imla. Then Iehoshaphat said, Let not the King say so.
Vua Y-sơ-ra-ên đáp với Giô-sa-phát rằng: Còn có một người tên là Mi-chê con trai của Giêm-la, nhờ người ấy ta có thể cầu vấn Ðức Giê-hô-va; nhưng tôi ghét người, vì người không hề nói tiên tri lành về tôi, bèn là dữ luôn. Giô-sa-phát nói: Xin vua chớ nói như vậy!
8 And the King of Israel called an eunuche, and said, Call quickly Michaiah the sonne of Imla.
Vua Y-sơ-ra-ên bèn gọi một hoạn quan đến mà bảo rằng: Hãy đòi Mi-chê, con trai Giêm-la, đến lập tức.
9 And the King of Israel, and Iehoshaphat King of Iudah sate either of them on his throne clothed in their apparel: they sate euen in the threshing floore at the entring in of the gate of Samaria: and all the Prophets prophesied before them.
Vả, vua Y-sơ-ra-ên và Giô-sa-phát, vua Giu-đa, mỗi người đều mặc đồ triều phục, đương ngồi trên ngai mình, ở nơi sân đạp lúa tại cửa thành Sa-ma-ri; còn hết thảy các tiên tri nói tiên tri ở trước mặt hai vua.
10 And Zidkiah ye sonne of Chenaanah made him hornes of yron, and sayde, Thus sayth the Lord, With these shalt thou push the Aramites vntill thou hast consumed them.
Sê-đê-kia, con trai Kê-na-na, làm lấy những sừng bằng sắt, và nói rằng: Ðức Giê-hô-va phán như vầy: Với các sừng nầy, vua sẽ báng dân Sy-ri cho đến khi diệt hết chúng nó.
11 And all the Prophets prophesied so, saying, Go vp to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliuer it into the hand of the King.
Các tiên tri đều nói một cách mà rằng: Hãy đi lên đánh Ra-mốt tại Ga-la-át; vua sẽ được thắng, vì Ðức Giê-hô-va sẽ phá thành ấy vào tay vua.
12 And the messenger that went to call Michaiah, spake to him, saying, Beholde, the wordes of the Prophets declare good to the King with one accord: let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speake thou good.
Vả, sứ giả đã đi đòi Mi-chê, nói với người rằng: Nầy những tiên tri đều đồng thinh báo cáo sự lành cho vua; vậy tôi xin ông cũng hãy lấy lời như lời của họ mà báo cáo điều lành.
13 And Michaiah saide, As the Lord liueth, whatsoeuer my God saith, that will I speake.
Nhưng Mi-chê đáp rằng: Nguyện Ðức Giê-hô-va hằng sống, hễ sự gì Ðức Chúa Trời ta sẽ phán dặn, thì ta sẽ nói cho.
14 So he came to the King, and the King said vnto him, Michaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall I leaue off? And he said, Goe yee vp, and prosper, and they shalbe deliuered into your hand.
Khi người đã đến cùng vua, vua bèn hỏi rằng: Hỡi Mi-chê, chúng ta có nên hãm đánh Ra-mốt tại Ga-la-át, hay là chẳng nên đi? Người đáp: Hãy đi lên, vua sẽ được thắng; chúng nó sẽ bị phó vào tay hai vua.
15 And the King sayd to him, Howe oft shall I charge thee, that thou tell mee nothing but the trueth in the Name of the Lord?
Vua nói với người rằng: Biết bao lần ta đã lấy lời thề buộc ngươi nhơn danh Ðức Giê-hô-va nói chơn thật với ta?
16 Then he said, I saw al Israel scattered in the mountaines, as sheepe that haue no shepheard: and the Lord sayd, These haue no Master: let them returne euery man to his house in peace.
Mi-chê đáp: Tôi thấy cả Y-sơ-ra-ên tản lạc trên các núi như bầy chiên không có người chăn; và Ðức Giê-hô-va có phán rằng: Những kẻ ấy không có chủ, ai nấy hãy trở về nhà mình bình an.
17 And the King of Israel sayde to Iehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee, that he would not prophesie good vnto me, but euill?
Vua Y-sơ-ra-ên nói với Giô-sa-phát rằng: Tôi há chẳng có nói với vua rằng người không nói tiên tri điều lành về việc tôi, bèn là điều dữ sao?
18 Againe hee saide, Therefore heare ye the worde of the Lord: I sawe the Lord sit vpon his throne, and all the hoste of heauen standing at his right hand, and at his left.
Mi-chê lại tiếp: Vậy, hãy nhe lời của Ðức Giê-hô-va. Tôi thấy Ðức Giê-hô-va ngự trên ngôi Ngài, còn cả đạo binh trên trời đứng chầu bên hữu và bên tả.
19 And the Lord sayd, Who shall perswade Ahab King of Israel, that he may go vp, and fall at Ramoth Gilead? And one spake and said thus, and another said that.
Ðức Giê-hô-va phán rằng: Ai sẽ đi dụ A-háp, vua Y-sơ-ra-ên, để người đi lên Ra-mốt tại Ga-la-át mà ngã chết ở đó? Rồi người nói cách này, kẻ nói cách khác.
20 Then there came forth a spirit and stoode before the Lord, and said, I will perswade him. And the Lord said vnto him, Wherein?
Bấy giờ, có một thần đi ra, đứng trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va, mà thưa rằng: Tôi sẽ đi dụ người Ðức Giê-hô-va phán hỏi: Dụ làm sao?
21 And he saide, I will goe out, and bee a false spirit in the mouth of all his Prophets. And hee said, Thou shalt perswade, and shalt also preuaile: goe forth and do so.
Thần thưa lại rằng: Tôi sẽ đi ra làm một thần nói dối trong miệng các tiên tri của người. Ðức Giê-hô-va phán: Phải, ngươi sẽ dụ người được: Hãy đi, làm như lời.
22 Now therefore behold, the Lord hath put a false spirit in the mouth of these thy Prophets, and the Lord hath determined euill against thee.
Vậy bây giờ, hãy xem Ðức Giê-hô-va đã đặt một thần nói dối trong miệng các tiên tri của vua, và Ðức Giê-hô-va đã phán sẽ giáng họa trên vua.
23 Then Zidkiah the sonne of Chenaanah came neere, and smote Michaiah vpon the cheeke, and sayde, By what way went the Spirit of the Lord from me, to speake with thee?
Sê-đê-kia, con trai của Kê-na-na, đi đến gần, vả Mi-chê nơi má, mà rằng: Thần Ðức Giê-hô-va có từ khỏi ta mà đi ngả nào đặng mách bảo cho ngươi?
24 And Michaiah saide, Behold, thou shalt see that day when thou shalt goe from chamber to chamber to hide thee.
Mi-chê đáp: Kìa, trong ngày ngươi chạy từ phòng này qua phòng kia đặng ẩn lánh, thì sẽ biết điều đó.
25 And the King of Israel sayde, Take ye Michaiah, and cary him to Amon the gouernour of the citie, and to Ioash the Kings sonne,
Vua Y-sơ-ra-ên truyền lịnh rằng: Hãy bắt Mi-chê dẫn đến A-môn, là quan cai thành, và cho Giô-ách, con trai của vua,
26 And say, Thus saith the King, Put this man in the prison house, and feede him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction vntil I returne in peace.
rồi hãy nói: Vua bảo như vầy: Hãy bỏ tù người này, lấy bánh và nước khổ nạn mà nuôi nó cho đến khi ta trở về bình an.
27 And Michaiah said, If thou returne in peace, the Lord hath not spoken by me. And he saide, Heare, all ye people.
Mi-chê bèn nói: Nếu vua trở về bình an, ắt Ðức Giê-hô-va không có cậy tôi phán. Người lại nói: Hỡi chúng dân, hết thảy hãy nghe điều đó!
28 So the King of Israel and Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah went vp to Ramoth Gilead.
Vậy, vua Y-sơ-ra-ên và Giô-sa-phát, vua Giu-đa, đồng đi lên Ra-mốt tại ga-la-át.
29 And the King of Israel said vnto Iehoshaphat, I will change my selfe, and enter into the battel: but put thou on thine apparel. So the King of Israel changed himselfe, and they went into the battel.
Vua Y-sơ-ra-ên nói với Giô-sa-phát rằng: Tôi sẽ cải dạng ăn mặc, rồi ra trận; còn vua, hãy mặc áo xống vua. Vua Y-sơ-ra-ên bèn ăn mặc cải dạng, rồi hai người đi ra trận.
30 And the King of Aram had commanded the captaines of the charets that were with him, saying, Fight you not with small, nor great, but against the King of Israel onely.
Vả, vua Sy-ri có truyền lịnh cho các quan cai xe mình rằng: Chớ áp đánh ai hoặc nhỏ hay lớn, nhưng chỉ một mình vua Y-sơ-ra-ên mà thôi,
31 And when the captaines of the charets saw Iehoshaphat, they sayde, It is the King of Israel: and they compassed about him to fight. But Iehoshaphat cryed, and the Lord helped him and moued them to depart from him.
Xảy khi các quan cai xe thấy Giô-sa-phát, thì nói rằng: Ấy là vua Y-sơ-ra-ên. Chúng bèn xây lại đặng áp đánh người. Giô-sa-phát kêu la lớn, Ðức Giê-hô-va tiếp cứu người, và Ðức Chúa Trời khiến chúng dang xa khỏi người.
32 For when the captaines of the charets saw that hee was not the King of Israel, they turned backe from him.
Vậy, xảy khi các quan cai xe thấy chẳng phải vua Y-sơ-ra-ên, thì thối lại chẳng đuổi theo nữa.
33 Then a certaine man drewe a bowe mightily, and smote the King of Israel betweene the ioyntes of his brigandine: Therefore he saide to his charetman, Turne thine hand, and carie mee out of the host: for I am hurt.
Bấy giờ, có một người tình cờ giương cung bắn vua Y-sơ-ra-ên trúng nhằm vua nơi mối giáp đâu lại; A-háp nói với người đánh xe mình rằng: Hãy quay cương lại đem ta ra khỏi hàng quân, vì ta bị thương nặng.
34 And the battel increased that day: and the King of Israel stood still in his charet against the Aramites vntil euen, and dyed at the time of the sunne going downe.
Trong ngày đó thế trận càng thêm dữ dội; song vua Y-sơ-ra-ên đứng vịn trên xe mình, đối mặt cùng dân Sy-ri, cho đến buổi chiều; người chết vào lối mặt trời lặn.
