2 Chronicles 18
1 And Iehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, but he was ioyned in affinitie with Ahab.
Und Josaphat besaß Reichtum und Ruhm in Fülle. Und er verschwägerte sich mit Achab.
2 And after certaine yeeres he went downe to Ahab to Samaria: and Ahab slew sheepe and oxen for him in great nomber, and for the people that he had with him, and entised him to goe vp vnto Ramoth Gilead.
Nach einigen Jahren zog er zu Achab nach Samaria hinab. Da schlachtete Achab für ihn und seine Leute bei ihm Schafe und Rinder in Menge. Dann überredete er ihn, nach Ramot in Gilead zu ziehen.
3 And Ahab King of Israel saide vnto Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, Wilt thou goe with mee to Ramoth Gilead? And hee answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people, and wee will ioyne with thee in the warre.
Achab, Israels König, sprach zum Judakönig Josaphat: "Ziehst du mit mir gegen Ramot in Gilead?" Er sprach zu ihm: "Ich wie du, mein Volk wie dein Volk! Ich ziehe mit dir in den Krieg."
4 And Iehoshaphat sayde vnto the King of Israel, Aske counsel, I pray thee, at the worde of the Lord this day.
Und Josaphat sprach zum König Israels: "Frag doch jetzt nach dem Worte des Herrn!"
5 Therefore the King of Israel gathered of Prophets foure hundreth men, and sayde vnto them, Shall we goe to Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall I cease? And they sayd, Go vp: for God shall deliuer it into the Kings hand.
Da versammelte Israels König die Propheten, 400 Mann, und fragte sie: "Sollen wir gegen Ramot in Gilead zu Felde ziehen, oder soll ich es lassen?" Sie sprachen: "Zieh hin! Gott gibt es in des Königs Hand."
6 But Iehoshaphat sayde, Is there heere neuer a Prophet more of the Lord that wee might inquire of him?
Da sprach Josaphat: "Ist hier kein Prophet des Herrn mehr, daß wir ihn befragen?"
7 And the King of Israel sayd vnto Iehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whome wee may aske counsell of the Lord, but I hate him: for he doeth not prophesie good vnto me, but alway euil: it is Michaiah the sonne of Imla. Then Iehoshaphat said, Let not the King say so.
Da sprach der König Israels zu Josaphat: "Noch einer ist da, den Herrn durch ihn zu befragen. Aber ich hasse ihn. Denn er weissagt über mich nichts Gutes, sondern allzeit nur Schlimmes. Das ist Imlas Sohn Mikajehu." Da sprach Josaphat: "Der König sage nicht so!"
8 And the King of Israel called an eunuche, and said, Call quickly Michaiah the sonne of Imla.
Da rief der König Israels einen Kämmerer und befahl: "Hol rasch Mikajehu, Imlas Sohn!"
9 And the King of Israel, and Iehoshaphat King of Iudah sate either of them on his throne clothed in their apparel: they sate euen in the threshing floore at the entring in of the gate of Samaria: and all the Prophets prophesied before them.
Der König Israels aber und Josaphat, Judas König, saßen, jeder auf seinem Throne, in Gewändern da, und zwar saßen sie am Eingang des Tores von Samaria in Untergewändern da, und alle Propheten weissagten vor ihnen.
10 And Zidkiah ye sonne of Chenaanah made him hornes of yron, and sayde, Thus sayth the Lord, With these shalt thou push the Aramites vntill thou hast consumed them.
Da machte sich Sidkijahu, Kenaanas Sohn, eiserne Hörner und sprach: "So spricht der Herr: 'Mit solchen wirst du die Aramäer stoßen und vernichten.'"
11 And all the Prophets prophesied so, saying, Go vp to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliuer it into the hand of the King.
Ebenso weissagten alle anderen Propheten und sprachen: "Zieh nach Ramot in Gilead und habe Glück! Der Herr gibt es in des Königs Hand."
12 And the messenger that went to call Michaiah, spake to him, saying, Beholde, the wordes of the Prophets declare good to the King with one accord: let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speake thou good.
Der Bote aber, der hingegangen war, Mikajehu zu rufen, sprach zu ihm: "Die Propheten verheißen dem König einstimmig Gutes. Möchte auch dein Wort einem der Ihrigen gleichen! Sprich nur Gutes!"
13 And Michaiah saide, As the Lord liueth, whatsoeuer my God saith, that will I speake.
Da sprach Mikajehu: "So wahr der Herr lebt! Ich rede nur, was mein Gott sagt."
14 So he came to the King, and the King said vnto him, Michaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall I leaue off? And he said, Goe yee vp, and prosper, and they shalbe deliuered into your hand.
So kam er zum König. Und der König sprach zu ihm: "Mika! sollen wir gen Ramot in Gilead zu Felde ziehen, oder soll ich es lassen?" Er sprach: "Zieht hin und habt Glück! Sie werden in eure Hand gegeben."
15 And the King sayd to him, Howe oft shall I charge thee, that thou tell mee nothing but the trueth in the Name of the Lord?
Da sprach der König zu ihm: "Wie oft muß ich dich beschwören, du sollst mir in des Herrn Namen nur Wahrheit verkünden?"
16 Then he said, I saw al Israel scattered in the mountaines, as sheepe that haue no shepheard: and the Lord sayd, These haue no Master: let them returne euery man to his house in peace.
Da sprach er: "Ich sehe ganz Israel auf den Bergen zerstreut, wie Schafe ohne Hirten, und der Herr spricht: 'Sie haben keinen Herrn mehr. Sie kehren aber jeder unversehrt nach Hause.'"
17 And the King of Israel sayde to Iehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee, that he would not prophesie good vnto me, but euill?
Da sprach der König Israels zu Josaphat: "Habe ich dir nicht gesagt: 'Er weissagt über mich nie Gutes, sondern nur Schlimmes?'"
18 Againe hee saide, Therefore heare ye the worde of the Lord: I sawe the Lord sit vpon his throne, and all the hoste of heauen standing at his right hand, and at his left.
Da sprach er: "Hört darum das Wort des Herrn. Gesehen habe ich den Herrn auf seinem Throne sitzen, und bei ihm stand das ganze Himmelsheer zur Rechten und zur Linken.
19 And the Lord sayd, Who shall perswade Ahab King of Israel, that he may go vp, and fall at Ramoth Gilead? And one spake and said thus, and another said that.
Da sprach der Herr: 'Wer möchte Achab, Israels König, so betören, daß er zu Felde zöge und in Gilead zu Ramot fiele?' Der eine sagte dies, der andere jenes.
20 Then there came forth a spirit and stoode before the Lord, and said, I will perswade him. And the Lord said vnto him, Wherein?
Da tritt der Geist hervor und stellt sich vor den Herrn und spricht: 'Ich möchte ihn betören.' Da fragte ihn der Herr: 'Womit?'
21 And he saide, I will goe out, and bee a false spirit in the mouth of all his Prophets. And hee said, Thou shalt perswade, and shalt also preuaile: goe forth and do so.
Er sprach: 'Ich gehe aus und werde dann zum Lügengeist im Munde aller seiner Seher.' Er sprach: 'Du wirst betören und es auch vollbringen. Auf! Handle so!'
22 Now therefore behold, the Lord hath put a false spirit in the mouth of these thy Prophets, and the Lord hath determined euill against thee.
So hat der Herr nun einen Lügengeist dem Munde all deiner Seher eingegeben. Unheil plant über dich der Herr."
23 Then Zidkiah the sonne of Chenaanah came neere, and smote Michaiah vpon the cheeke, and sayde, By what way went the Spirit of the Lord from me, to speake with thee?
Da trat Sidkia, Kenaanas Sohn, herzu, schlug Mikajehu auf die Wange und sprach: "Auf welchem Wege ist der Geist des Herrn von mir gewichen, um mit dir zu reden?"
24 And Michaiah saide, Behold, thou shalt see that day when thou shalt goe from chamber to chamber to hide thee.
Da sprach Mikajehu: "Das siehst du an jenem Tage, an dem du kommst, Winkel aufsuchend, um dich zu verstecken."
25 And the King of Israel sayde, Take ye Michaiah, and cary him to Amon the gouernour of the citie, and to Ioash the Kings sonne,
Da sprach der König von Israel: "Nehmt Mikajehu und bringt ihn zum Stadthauptmann Amon und zum Königssohne Joas
26 And say, Thus saith the King, Put this man in the prison house, and feede him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction vntil I returne in peace.
und meldet: 'So spricht der König: Werft diesen in den Kerker und nährt ihn kärglich mit Brot und Wasser, bis ich heil heimkomme!'"
27 And Michaiah said, If thou returne in peace, the Lord hath not spoken by me. And he saide, Heare, all ye people.
Da sprach Mikajehu: "Kehrst du wirklich heil heim, dann hat der Herr nicht durch mich gesprochen." Und er sprach: "Hört es, all ihr Leute!"
28 So the King of Israel and Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah went vp to Ramoth Gilead.
So zog der König Israels mit Judas König Josaphat gen Ramot in Gilead.
29 And the King of Israel said vnto Iehoshaphat, I will change my selfe, and enter into the battel: but put thou on thine apparel. So the King of Israel changed himselfe, and they went into the battel.
Und der König von Israel sprach zu Josaphat davon, verkleidet in den Kampf zu ziehen. "Du aber behalte deine Kleider an!" So verkleidete sich der König Israels, und sie zogen in den Kampf.
30 And the King of Aram had commanded the captaines of the charets that were with him, saying, Fight you not with small, nor great, but against the King of Israel onely.
Nun befahl der König von Aram den Obersten seiner Streitwagen: "Kämpft mit niemand anderem, gering oder vornehm als allein mit dem König von Israel!"
31 And when the captaines of the charets saw Iehoshaphat, they sayde, It is the King of Israel: and they compassed about him to fight. But Iehoshaphat cryed, and the Lord helped him and moued them to depart from him.
Wie nun die Obersten der Streitwagen den Josaphat erblickten, dachten sie: "Das ist der König von Israel. Und sie umringten ihn, um ihn anzugreifen." Da schrie Josaphat, und der Herr half ihm. Gott lockte sie von ihm weg.
32 For when the captaines of the charets saw that hee was not the King of Israel, they turned backe from him.
Wie die Führer der Streitwagen nun merkten, daß es nicht der König von Israel war, ließen sie von ihm.
33 Then a certaine man drewe a bowe mightily, and smote the King of Israel betweene the ioyntes of his brigandine: Therefore he saide to his charetman, Turne thine hand, and carie mee out of the host: for I am hurt.
Nun spannte ein Mann von ungefähr den Bogen und traf den König zwischen Ringelgurt und Panzer. Er sprach zum Wagenlenker: "Kehr um und fahre mich aus dem Getümmel! Denn ich bin verwundet."
34 And the battel increased that day: and the King of Israel stood still in his charet against the Aramites vntil euen, and dyed at the time of the sunne going downe.
Aber der Kampf entbrannte an jenem Tage immer stärker, und so blieb der König von Israel, im Wagen gestützt, Aram gegenüber bis zum Abend. Zur Zeit des Sonnenunterganges aber starb er.
