2 Chronicles 15
1 Then the Spirite of God came vpon Azariah the sonne of Obed.
Or Azaria, fils de Oded, reçut l'Esprit de Dieu.
2 And he went out to meete Asa, and said vnto him, O Asa, and all Iudah, and Beniamin, heare ye me. The Lord is with you, while ye be with him: and if ye seeke him, he wil be founde of you, but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.
Et il alla au-devant d'Asa et lui dit: Écoutez-moi, Asa, et vous tous de Juda et de Benjamin! L'Éternel a été avec vous, parce que vous ayez été avec Lui; et si vous Le cherchez, Il se laissera trouver par vous; mais si vous L'abandonnez, Il vous abandonnera.
3 Nowe for a long season Israel hath bene without the true God, and without Priest to teach and without Lawe.
Il y a eu pour Israël de longs jours sans vrai Dieu et sans Prêtre enseignant, et sans Loi;
4 But whosoeuer returned in his affliction to the Lord God of Israel, and sought him, he was founde of them.
mais comme dans la détresse ils revinrent à l'Éternel, Dieu d'Israël, et le cherchèrent, Il se laissa trouver par eux.
5 And in that time there was no peace to him, that did goe out and goe in: but great troubles were to all the inhabitants of the earth.
Dans ces temps-là il n'y avait point de sûreté pour qui sortait et qui entrait, mais une grande perturbation affectait tous les habitants du pays.
6 For nation was destroyed of nation, and citie of citie: for God troubled them with all aduersitie.
Un peuple se heurtait contre un peuple et une ville contre une ville; car Dieu les inquiétait par toutes sortes de tribulations.
7 Be ye strong therefore, and let not your handes be weake: for your worke shall haue a rewarde.
Mais vous, restez fermes et n'ayez pas les mains lâches; car il est un salaire pour vos œuvres.
8 And when Asa heard these wordes, and the prophesie of Obed the Prophet, he was encouraged, and tooke away the abominations out of all the lande of Iudah, and Beniamin, and out of the cities which he had taken of mount Ephraim, and he renued the altar of the Lord, that was before the porche of the Lord.
Et lorsque Asa entendit ces paroles et la prophétie de Oded, le prophète, il s'encouragea et extermina toutes les horreurs de tout le pays de Juda et de Benjamin, et des villes qu'il avait conquises dans la montagne d'Ephraïm, et il restaura l'autel de l'Éternel qui est devant le vestibule de l'Éternel.
9 And he gathered all Iudah and Beniamin, and the strangers with them out of Ephraim, and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for there fell many to him out of Israel, when they sawe that the Lord his God was with him.
Et il assembla tout Juda et Benjamin et avec eux les étrangers d'Ephraïm et de Manassé et de Siméon; car une multitude de gens étaient passés chez lui d'Israël, lorsqu'ils virent que l'Éternel, son Dieu, était avec lui.
10 So they assembled to Ierusalem in the third moneth, in the fifteenth yere of the reigne of Asa.
Et ils s'assemblèrent à Jérusalem au troisième mois, la quinzième année du règne d'Asa,
11 And they offred vnto the Lord the same time of the spoyle, which they had brought, euen seuen hundreth bullockes, and seuen thousande sheepe.
et dans cette journée ils sacrifièrent à l'Éternel, sur le butin qu'ils avaient remporté, sept cents taureaux et sept mille moutons,
12 And they made a couenant to seeke the Lord God of their fathers, with all their heart, and with all their soule.
et conclurent l'engagement de chercher l'Éternel, Dieu de leurs pères, de tout leur cœur et de toute leur âme;
13 And whosoeuer will not seeke the Lord God of Israel, shalbe slaine, whether he were small or great, man or woman.
et quiconque ne chercherait pas l'Éternel, Dieu d'Israël, subirait la mort, petit et grand, homme et femme.
14 And they sware vnto the Lord with a loude voyce, and with shouting and with trumpets, and with cornets.
Et ils prêtèrent serment à l'Éternel d'une voix forte et par acclamation et au son des trompettes et des clairons:
15 And all Iudah reioyced at the othe: for they had sworne vnto the Lord with all their heart, and sought him with a whole desire, and he was founde of them. And the Lord gaue them rest rounde about.
et tout Juda se réjouit du serment, car ils l'avaient prêté de tout leur cœur, et c'était de leur plein gré qu'ils le cherchaient, et Il se laissa trouver par eux, et l'Éternel leur donna paix de toutes parts.
16 And King Asa deposed Maachah his mother from her regencie, because she had made an idole in a groue: and Asa brake downe her idole, and stamped it, and burnt it at the brooke Kidron.
Et même il destitua Maacha, mère du roi Asa, de sa qualité de reine, pour avoir fait une idole Astarté; et Asa mit son idole en pièces, et la broya et la brûla dans la vallée du Cédron.
17 But the hie places were not taken away out of Israel: yet the heart of Asa was perfit all his dayes.
Mais les tertres ne disparurent pas d'Israël, néanmoins le cœur d'Asa resta intact toute sa vie.
18 Also he brought into the house of God the things that his father had dedicate, and that he had dedicate, siluer, and golde, and vessels.
Et il introduisit ce que son père avait consacré et ce que lui-même avait consacré, dans le temple de Dieu, argent, or et meubles.
19 And there was no warre vnto the fiue and thirtieth yeere of the reigne of Asa.
Et il n'y eut pas guerre jusqu'à la trente-cinquième année du règne d'Asa.
