2 Chronicles 12
1 And when Rehoboam had established the kingdome and made it strong, hee forsooke the Lawe of the Lord, and all Israel with him.
| وقتی رحبعام استوار شده، به اوج قدرت رسید، او و همۀ قومش شریعت خداوند را ترک کردند. |
2 Therefore in the fift yeere of King Rehoboam, Shishak the King of Egypt came vp against Ierusalem (because they had transgressed against the Lord)
| در نتیجه شیشق، پادشاه مصر در سال پنجم سلطنت رحبعام با هزار و دویست ارابه و شصت هزار سواره نظام و نیز گروه بی‌شماری سرباز لیبیایی، سوکی و حبشی به اورشلیم حمله کرد، زیرا آنها به خداوند خیانت ورزیده بودند. |
3 With twelue hundreth charets, and three score thousande horsemen, and the people were without nomber, that came with him from Egypt, euen the Lubims, Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians.
4 And he tooke the strong cities which were of Iudah, and came vnto Ierusalem.
| او شهرهای حصاردار یهودا را گرفت و طولی نکشید که به اورشلیم رسید. |
5 Then came Shemaiah the Prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Iudah, that were gathered together in Hierusalem, because of Shishak, and sayde vnto them, Thus sayth the Lord, Ye haue forsaken me, therefore haue I also left you in the handes of Shishak.
| شمعیای نبی نزد رحبعام و بزرگان یهودا که از ترس شیشق در اورشلیم جمع شده بودند، آمد و به ایشان گفت: «خداوند می‌فرماید: چون شما از من برگشته‌اید، پس من هم شما را در چنگ شیشق رها کرده‌ام.» |
6 Then the princes of Israel, and the King humbled themselues, and sayde, The Lord is iust.
| آنگاه پادشاه و بزرگان مملکت به گناه خود اعتراف کرده، گفتند: «خداوند به حق ما را تنبیه کرده است.» |
7 And when the Lord sawe that they humbled themselues, the worde of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, They haue humbled theselues, therefore I will not destroy them, but I will sende them deliuerance shortly, and my wrath shall not bee powred out vpon Ierusalem by the hand of Shishak.
| وقتی خداوند این را دید به شمعیا گفت: «چون به گناه خود معترف شده‌اند آنها را از بین نخواهم برد. من غضب خود را بر اورشلیم نخواهم ریخت و اهالی این شهر از چنگ شیشق جان به در خواهند برد، |
8 Neuerthelesse they shalbe his sernants: so shall they knowe my seruice, and the seruice of the kingdomes of the earth.
| ولی به شیشق باج و خراج خواهند پرداخت. آنگاه خواهند فهمید چه فرقی بین خدمت به من و خدمت به پادشاهان این دنیا وجود دارد.» |
9 Then Shishak King of Egypt came vp against Ierusalem, and tooke the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the Kings house he tooke euen all, and hee caried away the shields of golde, which Salomon had made.
| بنابراین شیشق، پادشاه مصر، اورشلیم را تصرف کرد. او خزانه‌های خانهٔ خداوند و کاخ سلطنتی را غارت کرد و تمام سپرهای طلا را که سلیمان ساخته بود با خود به یغما برد. |
10 In stead whereof King Rehoboam made shieldes of brasse, and committed them to the handes of the chiefe of the garde, that wayted at the doore of the Kings house.
| پس از آن رحبعام پادشاه، به جای سپرهای طلا برای نگهبانان کاخ خود سپرهای مفرغین ساخت. |
11 And when the King entred into the house of the Lord, the garde came and bare them and brought them againe vnto the garde chamber.
| هر وقت پادشاه به خانهٔ خداوند می‌رفت نگهبانان او سپرها را به دست می‌گرفتند و پس از پایان مراسم، آنها را دوباره به اتاق نگهبانی برمی‌گرداندند. |
12 And because hee humbled himselfe, the wrath of the Lord turned from him, that hee woulde not destroy all together. And also in Iudah the things prospered.
| وقتی پادشاه فروتن شد خشم خداوند از او برگشت و او را از بین نبرد و اوضاع در یهودا رو به بهبودی نهاد. |
13 So King Rehoboam was strong in Ierusalem and reigned: for Rehoboam was one and fourtie yere olde, when he began to reigne, and reigned seuenteene yeres in Ierusalem, the citie which the Lord had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel to put his Name there. And his mothers name was Naamah an Ammonitesse.
| پس حکومت رحبعام در اورشلیم ابقا شد. رحبعام در سن چهل و یک سالگی پادشاه شد. نام مادرش نعمهٔ عمونی بود. او هفده سال در اورشلیم، شهری که خداوند آن را از میان همهٔ شهرهای اسرائیل برگزید تا اسم خود را بر آن نهد، سلطنت نمود. |
14 And he did euill: for hee prepared not his heart to seeke the Lord.
| او نسبت به خداوند گناه ورزید و با تمام دل از او پیروی نکرد. |
15 The actes also of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the booke of Shemaiah the Prophet, and Iddo the Seer, in rehearsing the genealogie? and there was warre alway betweene Rehoboam and Ieroboam.
| شرح کامل رویدادهای دوران سلطنت رحبعام در کتاب «تاریخ شمعیای نبی» و کتاب «تاریخ عدوی نبی» نوشته شده است. بین رحبعام و یربعام همیشه جنگ بود. |
16 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the citie of Dauid, and Abiiah his sonne reigned in his stead.
| وقتی رحبعام مرد، او را در شهر اورشلیم دفن کردند و پسرش ابیا به جای او پادشاه شد. |
