2 Chronicles 12

1 And when Rehoboam had established the kingdome and made it strong, hee forsooke the Lawe of the Lord, and all Israel with him.

2 Therefore in the fift yeere of King Rehoboam, Shishak the King of Egypt came vp against Ierusalem (because they had transgressed against the Lord)

Paske moun yo te vire do bay Seyè a, Chichak, wa peyi Lejip la, moute vin atake lavil Jerizalèm nan senkyèm lanne rèy wa Woboram,

3 With twelue hundreth charets, and three score thousande horsemen, and the people were without nomber, that came with him from Egypt, euen the Lubims, Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians.

avèk mildesan (1.200) cha lagè, swasantmil (60.000) kavalye ak yon kantite sòlda moun pa t' ka konte ki te moute avè l' soti nan peyi Lejip. Te gen moun peyi Libi, moun peyi Soukit ak moun peyi Letiopi nan lame a.

4 And he tooke the strong cities which were of Iudah, and came vnto Ierusalem.

Li pran tout lavil ak gwo ranpa peyi Jida yo, jouk li rive lavil Jerizalèm.

5 Then came Shemaiah the Prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Iudah, that were gathered together in Hierusalem, because of Shishak, and sayde vnto them, Thus sayth the Lord, Ye haue forsaken me, therefore haue I also left you in the handes of Shishak.

Chichak t'ap pwoche sou lavil la, lè Chemaya, pwofèt la, al jwenn Woboram ak tout chèf peyi Jida yo ki te reyini lavil la, li di yo konsa: -Men sa Seyè a voye di nou. Menm jan nou te lage m' lan, se konsa m'ap lage nou tou nan men Chichak.

6 Then the princes of Israel, and the King humbled themselues, and sayde, The Lord is iust.

Wa a ansanm ak chèf yo rekonèt yo te fè sa ki mal: -Seyè a gen rezon l' nan pla men l'!

7 And when the Lord sawe that they humbled themselues, the worde of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, They haue humbled theselues, therefore I will not destroy them, but I will sende them deliuerance shortly, and my wrath shall not bee powred out vpon Ierusalem by the hand of Shishak.

Lè Seyè a wè jan yo rekonèt tò yo, li pale ak Chemaya ankò, li di l' konsa: -Paske yo rekonèt yo pa t' dwe fè sa yo fè a, mwen p'ap detwi yo nèt. Men, lè Chichak va atake, m'ap ba yo chans pou yo chape kò yo. Mwen p'ap sèvi ak Chichak pou m' fè moun lavil Jerizalèm yo santi jan m' fache sou yo.

8 Neuerthelesse they shalbe his sernants: so shall they knowe my seruice, and the seruice of the kingdomes of the earth.

Men, Chichak pral fè yo soumèt devan l'. Lè sa a, y'a wè sèvi m' ak sèvi chèf sou latè sa ki pi dous.

9 Then Shishak King of Egypt came vp against Ierusalem, and tooke the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the Kings house he tooke euen all, and hee caried away the shields of golde, which Salomon had made.

10 In stead whereof King Rehoboam made shieldes of brasse, and committed them to the handes of the chiefe of the garde, that wayted at the doore of the Kings house.

Wa Woboram fè fè lòt gwo plak pwotèj an kwiv fwa sa a pou mete nan plas yo. Lèfini, li renmèt yo nan men chèf gad ki t'ap fè pòs nan pòtay palè a.

11 And when the King entred into the house of the Lord, the garde came and bare them and brought them againe vnto the garde chamber.

Chak fwa wa a t'ap antre nan Tanp lan, chèf gad yo al pran gwo plak pwotèj yo pote vini. Lè li ale, yo pote yo tounen nan chanm gad yo.

12 And because hee humbled himselfe, the wrath of the Lord turned from him, that hee woulde not destroy all together. And also in Iudah the things prospered.

Paske Woboram te rekonèt li pa t' dwe fè sa l' te fè a devan Seyè a, kòlè Seyè a bese, li pa fini nèt avè l'. Men pou di vre, te gen bon bagay ki te pase nan peyi Jida lè sa a tou.

13 So King Rehoboam was strong in Ierusalem and reigned: for Rehoboam was one and fourtie yere olde, when he began to reigne, and reigned seuenteene yeres in Ierusalem, the citie which the Lord had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel to put his Name there. And his mothers name was Naamah an Ammonitesse.

Li gouvènen pandan disètan lavil Jerizalèm, lavil Seyè a te chwazi nan tout peyi Izrayèl pou anplasman kote pou yo fè sèvis pou li a. Manman Woboram te moun lavil Amon. Li te rele Nama.

14 And he did euill: for hee prepared not his heart to seeke the Lord.

Woboram te fè sa ki mal, paske li pa t' chache fè volonte Seyè a.

15 The actes also of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the booke of Shemaiah the Prophet, and Iddo the Seer, in rehearsing the genealogie? and there was warre alway betweene Rehoboam and Ieroboam.

Tou sa wa Woboram te fè, depi premye jou li te moute wa a rive jouk dènye jou a, nou jwenn yo ekri nan liv travay pwofèt Chemaya ak nan liv vizyon pwofèt Ido ki bay lis fanmi yo. Se te yon lagè san rete ant Woboram ak Jewoboram.

16 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the citie of Dauid, and Abiiah his sonne reigned in his stead.

Lè Woboram mouri, yo antere l' nan lavil David la. Se Abija, pitit gason li, ki pran plas li sou fotèy la.
