2 Chronicles 11
1 And when Rehoboam was come to Ierusalem, he gathered of the house of Iudah and Beniamin nine score thousande chosen men of warre to fight against Israel, and to bring the kingdome againe to Rehoboam.
Och när Rehabeam kom till Jerusalem, församlade han Juda hus och Benjamin, ett hundra åttio tusen utvalda krigare, för att de skulle strida mot Israel och återvinna konungadömet åt Rehabeam.
2 But the worde of the Lord came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
Men HERRENS ord kom till gudsmannen Semaja; han sade:
3 Speake vnto Rehoboam, the sonne of Salomon King of Iudah, and to all Israel that are in Iudah, and Beniamin, saying,
»Säg till Rehabeam, Salomos son, Juda konung, och till alla israeliter i Juda och Benjamin:
4 Thus sayth the Lord, Ye shall not goe vp, nor fight against your brethren: returne euery man to his house: for this thing is done of me. They obeyed therfore the word of the Lord, and returned from going against Ieroboam.
Så säger HERREN: I skolen icke draga upp och strida mot edra bröder. Vänden tillbaka hem, var och en till sitt, ty vad som har skett har kommit från mig.» Och de lyssnade till HERRENS ord och vände om och drogo icke mot Jerobeam.
5 And Rehoboam dwelt in Ierusalem, and buylt strong cities in Iudah.
Men Rehabeam bodde i Jerusalem, och han befäste städer i Juda och gjorde dem till fasta platser.
6 Hee buylt also Beth-lehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,
Han befäste Bet-Lehem, Etam, Tekoa,
7 And Beth-zur, and Shoco, and Adullam,
Bet-Sur, Soko, Adullam
8 And Gath, and Maresha, and Ziph,
Gat, Maresa, Sif,
9 And Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,
Adoraim, Lakis, Aseka,
10 And Zorah, and Aialon, and Hebron, which were in Iudah and Beniamin, strong cities.
Sorga, Ajalon och Hebron, alla i Juda och Benjamin, och gjorde dem till fasta städer.
11 And he repaired the strong holdes and put captaines in them, and store of vitaile, and oyle and wine.
Och han gjorde deras befästningar starka och tillsatte hövdingar i dem och lade in i dem förråd av mat, olja och vin;
12 And in all cities he put shieldes and speares, and made them exceeding strong: so Iudah and Beniamin were his.
var och en särskild av dessa städer försåg han med sköldar och spjut; han befäste dem mycket starkt. Och Juda och Benjamin förblevo under hans välde.
13 And the Priests and the Leuites that were in all Israel, resorted vnto him out of all their coastes.
Och prästerna och leviterna i hela Israel gingo över till honom från alla sina områden;
14 For the Leuites left their suburbes and their possession, and came to Iudah and to Ierusalem: for Ieroboam and his sonnes had cast them out from ministring in the Priestes office vnto the Lord.
ty leviterna övergåvo sina utmarker och sina andra besittningar och begåvo sig till Juda och Jerusalem, eftersom Jerobeam med sina söner drev dem bort ifrån deras tjänst såsom HERRENS präster,
15 And he ordeyned him Priests for the hie places, and for the deuils and for the calues which he had made.
och anställde åt sig andra präster för offerhöjderna och för de onda andarna och för kalvarna som han hade låtit göra.
16 And after the Leuites there came to Ierusalem of all the tribes of Israel, such as set their heartes to seeke the Lord God of Israel, to offer vnto the Lord God of their fathers.
Och dem följde ifrån alla Israels stammar de som vände sina hjärtan till att söka HERREN, Israels Gud; dessa kommo till Jerusalem för att offra åt HERREN, sina fäders Gud.
17 So they strengthened the kingdome of Iudah, and made Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon mightie, three yeere long: for three yeere they walked in in the way of Dauid and Salomon.
I tre år befäste de så konungamakten i Juda och gjorde Rehabeams, Salomos sons, välde starkt; ty i tre år vandrade de på Davids och Salomos väg.
18 And Rehoboam tooke him Mahalath ye daughter of Ierimoth the sonne of Dauid to wife, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the sonne of Ishai,
Och Rehabeam tog till hustru åt sig Mahalat, dotter till Jerimot, Davids son, och till Abihail, Eliabs, Isais sons, dotter.
19 Which bare him sonnes Ieush, and Shemariah, and Zaham.
Hon födde åt honom sönerna Jeus, Semarja och Saham.
20 And after her he tooke Maakah ye daughter of Absalom which bare him Abiiah, and Atthai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
Och efter henne tog han till hustru Maaka, Absaloms dotter. Hon födde åt honom Abia, Attai, Sisa och Selomit.
21 And Rehoboam loued Maakah ye daughter of Absalom aboue all his wiues and his concubines: for he tooke eighteene wiues, and three score concubines, and begate eyght and twentie sonnes, and three score daughters.
Och Rehabeam hade Maaka, Absaloms dotter, kärare än alla sina andra hustrur och bihustrur -- ty han hade tagit aderton hustrur och sextio bihustrur -- och han födde tjuguåtta söner och sextio döttrar.
22 And Rehoboam made Abiiah the sonne of Maakah the chiefe ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him King.
Och Rehabeam satte Abia, Maakas son, till huvud och furste bland sina bröder, ty han hade i sinnet att göra honom till konung.
23 And he taught him: and dispersed all his sonnes throughout all the countreis of Iudah and Beniamin vnto euery strong citie: and hee gaue them aboundance of vitaile, and desired many wiues.
Och på lämpligt sätt fördelade han alla Judas och Benjamins landskap och alla fasta städer mellan några av sina söner och gav dem rikligt underhåll; han skaffade dem ock hustrur i mängd.
