2 Chronicles 11
1 And when Rehoboam was come to Ierusalem, he gathered of the house of Iudah and Beniamin nine score thousande chosen men of warre to fight against Israel, and to bring the kingdome againe to Rehoboam.
Kiedy Roboam przybył do Jerozolimy, zebrał spośród domu Judy i Beniamina sto osiemdziesiąt tysięcy [mężczyzn] – wyborowych wojowników – aby walczyć z Izraelem i przywrócić królestwo Roboamowi.
2 But the worde of the Lord came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
Lecz słowo PANA doszło do Szemajasza, męża Bożego:
3 Speake vnto Rehoboam, the sonne of Salomon King of Iudah, and to all Israel that are in Iudah, and Beniamin, saying,
Powiedz Roboamowi, synowi Salomona, królowi Judy, i całemu Izraelowi w Judzie i Beniaminie:
4 Thus sayth the Lord, Ye shall not goe vp, nor fight against your brethren: returne euery man to his house: for this thing is done of me. They obeyed therfore the word of the Lord, and returned from going against Ieroboam.
Tak mówi PAN: Nie wyruszajcie ani nie walczcie ze swoimi braćmi. Niech każdy wróci do swego domu, bo ta rzecz wyszła ode mnie. I posłuchali słowa PANA, i zawrócili z drogi przeciw Jeroboamowi.
5 And Rehoboam dwelt in Ierusalem, and buylt strong cities in Iudah.
I Roboam zamieszkał w Jerozolimie, i odbudował miasta obronne w Judzie.
6 Hee buylt also Beth-lehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,
Odbudował Betlejem, Etam i Tekoa;
7 And Beth-zur, and Shoco, and Adullam,
Bet-Sur, Soko i Adullam;
8 And Gath, and Maresha, and Ziph,
Gat, Mareszę i Zif;
9 And Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,
Adoraim, Lakisz i Azekę;
10 And Zorah, and Aialon, and Hebron, which were in Iudah and Beniamin, strong cities.
Sorea, Ajjalon i Hebron, warowne miasta w Judzie i Beniaminie.
11 And he repaired the strong holdes and put captaines in them, and store of vitaile, and oyle and wine.
A gdy wzmocnił te twierdze, ustanowił w nich dowódców i [zaopatrzył] w składy zboża, oliwy i wina.
12 And in all cities he put shieldes and speares, and made them exceeding strong: so Iudah and Beniamin were his.
A w każdym mieście [złożył] tarcze i włócznie i bardzo je umocnił. Tak należały do niego Juda i Beniamin.
13 And the Priests and the Leuites that were in all Israel, resorted vnto him out of all their coastes.
Kapłani też i Lewici, którzy [byli] w całym Izraelu, zebrali się u niego, [przybywszy] ze wszystkich swoich granic.
14 For the Leuites left their suburbes and their possession, and came to Iudah and to Ierusalem: for Ieroboam and his sonnes had cast them out from ministring in the Priestes office vnto the Lord.
Lewici bowiem opuścili swoje pastwiska i posiadłości i przyszli do Judy i do Jerozolimy, gdyż Jeroboam i jego synowie odsunęli ich od pełnienia służby kapłańskiej dla PANA.
15 And he ordeyned him Priests for the hie places, and for the deuils and for the calues which he had made.
I ustanowił sobie kapłanów na wyżynach dla [kultu] demonów i cielców, które sporządził.
16 And after the Leuites there came to Ierusalem of all the tribes of Israel, such as set their heartes to seeke the Lord God of Israel, to offer vnto the Lord God of their fathers.
A za nimi przybywali do Jerozolimy ze wszystkich pokoleń Izraela ci, którzy zwrócili swoje serca ku szukaniu PANA, Boga Izraela, aby składać ofiary PANU, Bogu swoich ojców.
17 So they strengthened the kingdome of Iudah, and made Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon mightie, three yeere long: for three yeere they walked in in the way of Dauid and Salomon.
I tak przez trzy lata umocnili królestwo Judy, i utwierdzili Roboama, syna Salomona. Trzy lata bowiem chodzili drogą Dawida i Salomona.
18 And Rehoboam tooke him Mahalath ye daughter of Ierimoth the sonne of Dauid to wife, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the sonne of Ishai,
Potem Roboam wziął sobie za żonę Machalat, córkę Jerimota, syna Dawida, [oraz] Abihail, córkę Eliaba, syna Jessego;
19 Which bare him sonnes Ieush, and Shemariah, and Zaham.
Która mu urodziła synów: Jeusza, Szemariasza i Zahama.
20 And after her he tooke Maakah ye daughter of Absalom which bare him Abiiah, and Atthai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
A po niej wziął za żonę Maakę, córkę Absaloma, która urodziła mu Abiasza, Attaja, Zizę i Szelomita.
21 And Rehoboam loued Maakah ye daughter of Absalom aboue all his wiues and his concubines: for he tooke eighteene wiues, and three score concubines, and begate eyght and twentie sonnes, and three score daughters.
Roboam ukochał Maakę, córkę Absaloma, najbardziej ze wszystkich swoich żon i nałożnic. Pojął bowiem osiemnaście żon i sześćdziesiąt nałożnic i spłodził dwudziestu ośmiu synów i sześćdziesiąt córek.
22 And Rehoboam made Abiiah the sonne of Maakah the chiefe ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him King.
I Roboam ustanowił na czele Abiasza, syna Maaki, aby był wodzem wśród jego braci. [Zamierzał] bowiem uczynić go królem.
23 And he taught him: and dispersed all his sonnes throughout all the countreis of Iudah and Beniamin vnto euery strong citie: and hee gaue them aboundance of vitaile, and desired many wiues.
A postępując roztropnie, rozesłał wszystkich [pozostałych] swoich synów po wszystkich krainach Judy i Beniamina, po wszystkich miastach warownych, i zaopatrzył ich w zapasy żywności. I pragnął wielu żon.
