2 Chronicles 1
1 Then Salomon the sonne of Dauid was confirmed in his kingdome: and the Lord his God was with him, and magnified him highly.
Salomo, anak Daud, menjadi kuat dalam kedudukannya sebagai raja; TUHAN, Allahnya, menyertai dia dan menjadikan kekuasaannya luar biasa besarnya.
2 And Salomon spake vnto all Israel, to the captaines of thousandes, and of hundreths, and to the iudges, and to all the gouernours in all Israel, euen the chiefe fathers.
Salomo memberi perintah kepada seluruh Israel, kepada kepala-kepala pasukan seribu dan pasukan seratus, kepada para hakim dan kepada semua pemimpin di seluruh Israel, yakni para kepala puak.
3 So Salomon and all the Congregation with him went to the hie place that was at Gibeon: for there was the Tabernacle of the Congregation of God which Moses the seruant of the Lord had made in the wildernesse.
Lalu pergilah Salomo bersama-sama dengan segenap jemaah itu ke bukit pengorbanan yang di Gibeon, sebab di situlah Kemah Pertemuan Allah yang dibuat Musa, hamba TUHAN itu, di padang gurun.
4 But the Arke of God had Dauid brought vp from Kiriath-iearim, when Dauid had made preparation for it: for he had pitched a tent for it in Ierusalem.
--Tetapi Daud telah mengangkut tabut Allah dari Kiryat-Yearim ke tempat yang disiapkannya bagi tabut itu, --sebab ia telah memasang kemah untuk tabut itu di Yerusalem.
5 Moreouer the brasen altar that Bezaleel the sonne of Vri, the sonne of Hur had made, did hee set before the Tabernacle of the Lord: and Salomon and the Congregation sought it.
Namun mezbah tembaga yang dibuat Bezaleel bin Uri bin Hur masih ada di sana di depan Kemah Suci TUHAN. Maka ke sanalah Salomo dan jemaah itu meminta petunjuk TUHAN.
6 And Salomon offred there before the Lord vpon the brasen altar that was in the Tabernacle of the Congregation: euen a thousand burnt offrings offred he vpon it.
Salomo mempersembahkan korban di sana di hadapan TUHAN di atas mezbah tembaga yang di depan Kemah Pertemuan itu; ia mempersembahkan seribu korban bakaran di atasnya.
7 The same night did God appeare vnto Salomon, and sayde vnto him, Aske what I shall giue thee.
Pada malam itu juga Allah menampakkan diri kepada Salomo dan berfirman kepadanya: "Mintalah apa yang hendak Kuberikan kepadamu."
8 And Salomon sayde vnto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy vnto Dauid my father and hast made me to reigne in his stead.
Berkatalah Salomo kepada Allah: "Engkaulah yang telah menunjukkan kasih setia-Mu yang besar kepada Daud, ayahku, dan telah mengangkat aku menjadi raja menggantikan dia.
9 Nowe therefore, O Lord God, let thy promise vnto Dauid my father be true: for thou hast made mee King ouer a great people, like to the dust of the earth.
Maka sekarang, ya TUHAN Allah, tunjukkanlah keteguhan janji-Mu kepada Daud, ayahku, sebab Engkaulah yang telah mengangkat aku menjadi raja atas suatu bangsa yang banyaknya seperti debu tanah.
10 Giue me now wisdome and knowledge, that I may go out and go in before this people: for who can iudge this thy great people?
Berilah sekarang kepadaku hikmat dan pengertian, supaya aku dapat keluar dan masuk sebagai pemimpin bangsa ini, sebab siapakah yang dapat menghakimi umat-Mu yang besar ini?"
11 And God sayde to Salomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, treasures nor honour, nor the liues of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life, but hast asked for thee wisdome and knowledge that thou mightest iudge my people, ouer whome I haue made thee King,
Berfirmanlah Allah kepada Salomo: "Oleh karena itu yang kauingini dan engkau tidak meminta kekayaan, harta benda, kemuliaan atau nyawa pembencimu, dan juga tidak meminta umur panjang, tetapi sebaliknya engkau meminta kebijaksanaan dan pengertian untuk dapat menghakimi umat-Ku yang atasnya Aku telah merajakan engkau,
12 Wisdome and knowledge is granted vnto thee, and I will giue thee riches and treasures and honour, so that there hath not bene the like among the Kings which were before thee, neither after thee shall there be the like.
maka kebijaksanaan dan pengertian itu diberikan kepadamu; selain itu Aku berikan kepadamu kekayaan, harta benda dan kemuliaan, sebagaimana belum pernah ada pada raja-raja sebelum engkau dan tidak akan ada pada raja-raja sesudah engkau."
13 Then Salomon came from the hie place, that was at Gibeon, to Ierusalem from before the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and reigned ouer Israel.
Lalu pulanglah Salomo dari bukit pengorbanan yang di Gibeon itu, dari depan Kemah Pertemuan, ke Yerusalem dan ia memerintah atas Israel.
14 And Salomon gathered the charets and horesemen: and he had a thousand and foure hundreth charets, and twelue thousande horsemen, whome he placed in the charet cities, and with the King at Ierusalem.
Salomo mengumpulkan juga kereta-kereta dan orang-orang berkuda, sehingga ia mempunyai seribu empat ratus kereta dan dua belas ribu orang berkuda, yang semuanya ditempatkan dalam kota-kota kereta dan dekat raja di Yerusalem.
15 And the King gaue siluer and gold at Ierusalem as stones, and gaue cedar trees as the wilde figge trees, that are abundantly in the playne.
Raja membuat banyaknya emas dan perak di Yerusalem sama seperti batu, dan banyaknya pohon kayu aras sama seperti pohon ara yang tumbuh di Daerah Bukit.
16 Also Salomon had horses brought out of Egypt and fine linen: the Kings marchants receiued the fine linen for a price.
Kuda untuk Salomo didatangkan dari Misraim dan dari Kewe; saudagar-saudagar raja membelinya dari Kewe dengan harga pasar.
17 They came vp also and brought out of Egypt some charet, worth sixe hundreth shekels of siluer, that is an horse for an hundreth and fiftie: and thus they brought horses to all the Kings of the Hittites, and to the Kings of Aram by their meanes.
Sebuah kereta yang didatangkan dari Misraim berharga sampai enam ratus syikal perak, dan seekor kuda sampai seratus lima puluh syikal; dan begitu juga melalui mereka dikeluarkan semuanya itu kepada semua raja orang Het dan kepada raja-raja Aram.
