2 Chronicles 1

1 Then Salomon the sonne of Dauid was confirmed in his kingdome: and the Lord his God was with him, and magnified him highly.

Salomo, Davids Sohn, aber befestigte sein Königtum. Der Herr, sein Gott, war mit ihm und machte ihn überaus groß.

2 And Salomon spake vnto all Israel, to the captaines of thousandes, and of hundreths, and to the iudges, and to all the gouernours in all Israel, euen the chiefe fathers.

Und Salomo sprach zu ganz Israel, zu den Anführern der Tausend- und Hundertschaften, den Richtern und allen Fürsten in ganz Israel, den Familienhäuptern.

3 So Salomon and all the Congregation with him went to the hie place that was at Gibeon: for there was the Tabernacle of the Congregation of God which Moses the seruant of the Lord had made in the wildernesse.

Und so zogen Salomo und die ganze Gemeinde mit ihm nach der Höhe von Gibeon. Denn dort war Gottes Festgezelt, das Moses, des Herrn Diener, in der Wüste gemacht hatte.

4 But the Arke of God had Dauid brought vp from Kiriath-iearim, when Dauid had made preparation for it: for he had pitched a tent for it in Ierusalem.

Die Gotteslade aber hatte David aus Kirjat Jearim heraufgebracht, weil David für sie sorgen wollte. Denn er schlug für sie ein Zelt in Jerusalem auf.

5 Moreouer the brasen altar that Bezaleel the sonne of Vri, the sonne of Hur had made, did hee set before the Tabernacle of the Lord: and Salomon and the Congregation sought it.

Auch der eherne Altar, den Besalel, Uris Sohn und Enkel Churs, gemacht, war vor des Herrn Wohnung. Und Salomo und die Gemeinde suchten ihn auf.

6 And Salomon offred there before the Lord vpon the brasen altar that was in the Tabernacle of the Congregation: euen a thousand burnt offrings offred he vpon it.

Dann stieg Salomo dort vor dem Herrn zum ehernen Altar beim Festgezelt hinauf und brachte ihm tausend Brandopfer dar.

7 The same night did God appeare vnto Salomon, and sayde vnto him, Aske what I shall giue thee.

In jener Nacht aber erschien Gott dem Salomo und sprach zu ihm: "Erbitte das, was ich dir geben soll!"

8 And Salomon sayde vnto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy vnto Dauid my father and hast made me to reigne in his stead.

Da sprach Salomo zu Gott: "Große Huld hast Du meinem Vater David erwiesen und mich an seiner Statt zum König gemacht.

9 Nowe therefore, O Lord God, let thy promise vnto Dauid my father be true: for thou hast made mee King ouer a great people, like to the dust of the earth.

Jetzt nun bewähre sich, Herr, Gott, Dein Wort an meinem Vater David! Denn Du hast mich zum König eines Volks gemacht, so zahlreich wie der Erde Staub.

10 Giue me now wisdome and knowledge, that I may go out and go in before this people: for who can iudge this thy great people?

So gib mir Weisheit auch und Einsicht, vor diesem Volke aus- und einzuziehen Denn wer vermöchte dies Dein großes Volk zu richten?"

11 And God sayde to Salomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, treasures nor honour, nor the liues of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life, but hast asked for thee wisdome and knowledge that thou mightest iudge my people, ouer whome I haue made thee King,

Da sprach Gott zu Salomo: "Weil du solches im Sinne hast und nicht um Reichtum, Schätze und Ruhm gefleht, noch um das Leben deiner Hasser, auch nicht um langes Leben, vielmehr dir Weisheit und Erkenntnis erfleht hast, um so mein Volk zu richten, über das ich zum König dich gemacht,

12 Wisdome and knowledge is granted vnto thee, and I will giue thee riches and treasures and honour, so that there hath not bene the like among the Kings which were before thee, neither after thee shall there be the like.

so sei dir diese Weisheit und Erkenntnis auch geschenkt! Doch auch Reichtum, Schätze, Ruhm verleihe ich dir, dergleichen nie die Könige vor dir besessen, noch nach dir haben werden."

13 Then Salomon came from the hie place, that was at Gibeon, to Ierusalem from before the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and reigned ouer Israel.

Salomo kam nun von der Höhe zu Gibeon nach Jerusalem vor das Bundeszelt und herrschte über Israel.

14 And Salomon gathered the charets and horesemen: and he had a thousand and foure hundreth charets, and twelue thousande horsemen, whome he placed in the charet cities, and with the King at Ierusalem.

Und Salomo brachte Wagen und Reiter zusammen, und zwar besaß er 14.000 Wagen und 12.000 Reiter. Er legte sie in die Wagenstädte und in des Königs Umgebung nach Jerusalem.

15 And the King gaue siluer and gold at Ierusalem as stones, and gaue cedar trees as the wilde figge trees, that are abundantly in the playne.

Und der König machte zu Jerusalem Silber und Gold den Steinen gleich, und die Zedern machte er gleich den Maulbeerbäumen in der Niederung.

16 Also Salomon had horses brought out of Egypt and fine linen: the Kings marchants receiued the fine linen for a price.

Und die Ausfuhr der Rosse für Salomo erfolgte aus Ägypten und aus Kue. Die Händler des Königs holten sie aus Kue gegen Bezahlung.

17 They came vp also and brought out of Egypt some charet, worth sixe hundreth shekels of siluer, that is an horse for an hundreth and fiftie: and thus they brought horses to all the Kings of the Hittites, and to the Kings of Aram by their meanes.

Aus Ägypten holten sie einen Wagen um sechshundert Silberlinge und ein Roß um hundertfünfzig. Ebenso führten sie an alle chittitischen und aramäischen Könige durch ihre Vermittlung aus.
