1 Thessalonians 5

1 Bvt of the times and seasons, brethren, yee haue no neede that I write vnto you.

प्रिय भाई बहनो, इसकी कोई ज़रूरत नहीं कि तुम्हें समयों और कालों के विषय में लिखा जाए,

2 For ye your selues knowe perfectly, that the day of the Lord shall come, euen as a thiefe in the night.

तुम्हें यह भली प्रकार मालूम है कि प्रभु के दिन का आगमन ठीक वैसा ही अचानक होगा जैसा रात में एक चोर का.

3 For when they shall say, Peace, and safetie, then shall come vpon them sudden destruction, as the trauaile vpon a woman with childe, and they shall not escape,

लोग कह रहे होंगे, “सब कुशल है, कोई संकट है ही नहीं!” उसी समय बिना किसी पहले से जानकारी के उन पर विनाश टूट पड़ेगा—गर्भवती की प्रसव पीड़ा के समान, उनका भाग निकलना असंभव होगा.

4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkenes, that that day shall come on you, as it were a thiefe.

किंतु तुम, प्रिय भाई बहनो, इस विषय में अंधकार में नहीं हो कि वह दिन तुम पर एकाएक एक चोर के समान अचानक से आ पड़े.

5 Yee are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, neither of darkenesse.

तुम सभी ज्योति की संतान हो—दिन के वंशज. हम न तो रात के हैं और न अंधकार के,

6 Therefore let vs not sleepe as do other, but let vs watch and be sober.

इसलिये हम, बाकियों के समान सोए हुए नहीं परंतु सावधान और व्यवस्थित रहें.

7 For they that sleepe, sleepe in the night, and they that be drunken, are drunken in the night.

क्योंकि वे, जो सोते हैं, रात में सोते हैं और वे, जो मतवाले होते हैं, रात में ही मतवाले होते हैं.

8 But let vs which are of the day, be sober, putting on the brest plate of faith and loue, and of the hope of saluation for an helmet.

अब इसलिये कि हम दिन के बने हुए हैं, हम विश्वास और प्रेम का कवच तथा उद्धार की आशा का टोप धारण कर व्यवस्थित हो जाएं.

9 For God hath not appointed vs vnto wrath, but to obtaine saluation by the meanes of our Lord Iesus Christ,

परमेश्वर द्वारा हम क्रोध के लिए नहीं परंतु हमारे प्रभु येशु मसीह द्वारा उद्धार पाने के लिए ठहराए गए हैं.

10 Which died for vs, that whether we wake or sleepe, we should liue together with him.

जिन्होंने हमारे लिए प्राण त्याग दिया, कि चाहे हम जागते हों या सोते हों, उनके साथ निवास करें.

11 Wherefore exhort one another, and edifie one another, euen as ye doe.

इसलिये तुम, जैसा इस समय कर ही रहे हो, एक दूसरे को आपस में प्रोत्साहित तथा उन्‍नत करने में लगे रहो.

12 Nowe we beseeche you, brethren, that ye acknowledge them, which labour among you, and are ouer you in the Lord, and admonish you,

प्रिय भाई बहनो, तुमसे हमारी विनती है कि तुम उनकी सराहना करो, जो तुम्हारे बीच लगन से परिश्रम कर रहे हैं, जो प्रभु में तुम्हारे लिए ज़िम्मेदार हैं तथा तुम्हें शिक्षा देते हैं.

13 That yee haue them in singular loue for their workes sake. Bee at peace among your selues.

उनके परिश्रम को ध्यान में रखते हुए उन्हें प्रेमपूर्वक ऊंचा सम्मान दो. आपस में मेल-मिलाप बनाए रखो.

14 We desire you, brethren, admonish them that are out of order: comfort ye feeble minded: beare with the weake: be pacient toward all men.

प्रिय भाई बहनो, हम तुमसे विनती करते हैं कि जो बिगड़े हुए हैं, उन्हें फटकार लगाओ; जो डरे हुए हैं, उन्हें ढाढस दो, दुर्बलों की सहायता करो तथा सभी के साथ धीरजवान बने रहो.

15 See that none recompense euil for euil vnto any man: but euer follow that which is good, both toward your selues, and toward all men.

यह ध्यान रखो कि कोई भी बुराई का बदला बुराई से न लेने पाए किंतु हमेशा वही करने का प्रयास करो, जिसमें पारस्परिक और सभी का भला हो.

16 Reioyce euermore.

हमेशा आनंदित रहो,

17 Pray continually.

प्रार्थना लगातार की जाए,

18 In all thinges giue thankes: for this is the will of God in Christ Iesus toward you.

हर एक परिस्थिति में धन्यवाद प्रकट किया जाए; क्योंकि मसीह येशु में तुमसे परमेश्वर की यही आशा है.

19 Quench not the Spirit.

पवित्र आत्मा को न बुझाओ.

20 Despise not prophecying.

भविष्यवाणियों को तुच्छ न समझो

21 Try all things, and keepe that which is good.

परंतु हर एक को सावधानीपूर्वक बारीकी से जांचो तथा उसे, जो अच्छा है, थामे रहो.

22 Absteine from all appearance of euill.

बुराई का उसके हर एक रूप में बहिष्कार करो.

23 Nowe the very God of peace sanctifie you throughout: and I pray God that your whole spirite and soule and body, may be kept blamelesse vnto the comming of our Lord Iesus Christ.

अंततः परमेश्वर, जो शांति के स्रोत हैं, तुम्हें पूरी तरह अपने लिए बुराई से अलग करने तथा तुम्हारी आत्मा, प्राण तथा शरीर को पूरी तरह से हमारे प्रभु येशु मसीह के दोबारा आगमन के अवसर तक निर्दोष रूप में सुरक्षित रखें.

24 Faithfull is hee which calleth you, which will also doe it.

सच्चे हैं वह, जिन्होंने तुम्हें बुलाया है. वही इसको पूरा भी करेंगे.

25 Brethren, pray for vs.

प्रिय भाई बहनो, हमारे लिए प्रार्थना करते रहना.

26 Greete all the brethren with an holy kisse.

पवित्र चुंबन से एक दूसरे को नमस्कार करो.

27 I charge you in the Lord, that this Epistle be read vnto all the brethren the Saintes.

प्रभु में हमारी यह आज्ञा है कि यह पत्र सब भाई बहनों के सामने पढ़ा जाए.

28 The grace of our Lord Iesus Christ be with you, Amen. ‘The first Epistle vnto the Thessalonians written from Athens.’

तुम पर हमारे प्रभु येशु मसीह की कृपा बनी रहे.
