1 Thessalonians 4

1 And furthermore we beseeche you, brethren, and exhort you in the Lord Iesus, that ye increase more and more, as ye haue receiued of vs, how ye ought to walke, and to please God.

૧તો ભાઈઓ, છેવટે, અમે પ્રભુ ઈસુના નામે તમને વિનંતી તથા સુબોધ કરીએ છીએ કે, તમારે કેવી રીતે વર્તવું અને ઈશ્વરને પ્રસન્ન કરવા, એ વિષે અમારા તરફથી તમે સાંભળ્યું છે તે પ્રમાણે જેમ તમે ચાલો છો, તેમ જ વધારે અને વધારે ચાલતા રહો.

2 For ye knowe what commandements we gaue you by the Lord Iesus.

૨કેમ કે અમે પ્રભુ ઈસુ તરફથી તમને કઈ કઈ આજ્ઞાઓ આપી તે તમે જાણો છો.

3 For this is the will of God euen your sanctification, and that ye should abstaine from fornication,

૩કારણ કે ઈશ્વરની ઇચ્છા એવી છે કે, તમારું પવિત્રીકરણ થાય, એટલે કે તમે વ્યભિચારથી દૂર રહો;

4 That euery one of you should know, how to possesse his vessell in holines and honour,

૪તમારામાંનો દરેક, ઈશ્વરને ન જાણનારાં વિદેશીઓની જેમ વિષયવાસનામાં નહિ,

5 And not in the lust of concupiscence, euen as the Gentiles which know not God:

૫પણ પવિત્રતામાં તથા માનમાં પોતાની જાતને સંભાળી રાખે.

6 That no man oppresse or defraude his brother in any matter: for the Lord is auenger of all such thinges, as we also haue tolde you before time, and testified.

૬તે બાબતમાં કોઈ અપરાધ કરીને પોતાના ભાઈને છેતરે નહિ, કારણ કે પ્રભુ એવાં બધાં કામોની શિક્ષા કરનાર છે, એ બાબતે અમે અગાઉ પણ તમને જણાવ્યું હતું અને ચેતવણી આપી હતી.

7 For God hath not called vs vnto vncleannesse, but vnto holinesse.

૭કેમ કે ઈશ્વરે આપણને અશુદ્ધતાને સારુ નહિ, પણ પવિત્રતામાં બોલાવ્યા છે.

8 Hee therefore that despiseth these thinges, despiseth not man, but God who hath euen giuen you his holy Spirit.

૮એ માટે જે અનાદર કરે છે તે તો માણસનો નહિ, પણ ઈશ્વરનો અનાદર કરે છે, જે પોતાનો પવિત્ર આત્મા તમને આપે છે.

9 But as touching brotherly loue, ye neede not that I write vnto you: for ye are taught of God to loue one another.

૯પણ ભાઈ પરના પ્રેમ વિષે કોઈને તમારા પર લખવાની કશી જરૂર નથી, કેમ કે એકબીજા પર પ્રેમ રાખવાનું ઈશ્વરે પોતે તમને શીખવ્યું છે.

10 Yea, and that thing verily yee doe vnto all the brethren, which are throughout all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more,

૧૦આખા મકદોનિયાના સઘળા ભાઈઓ પર તમે એ પ્રમાણે પ્રેમ રાખો છો; પણ ભાઈઓ, અમે તમને વિનંતી કરીએ છીએ કે, તમે હજી પણ વધારે પ્રેમ રાખો;

11 And that ye studie to be quiet, and to meddle with your owne busines, and to worke with your owne handes, as we commanded you,

૧૧અને જેમ અમે તમને આજ્ઞા આપી, તેમ તમે શાંત રહેવાને, બીજાઓને કામમાં દખલ ન કરવાને તથા પોતાને હાથે ઉદ્યોગ કરવાને, લક્ષ્ય રાખો;

12 That yee may behaue your selues honestly towarde them that are without, and that nothing be lacking vnto you.

૧૨જેથી બહારના લોકોની આગળ તમે સારી વર્તણૂક રાખો અને તમને કશાની અગત્ય રહે નહિ.

13 I would not, brethren, haue you ignorant concerning them which are a sleepe, that ye sorow not euen as other which haue no hope.

૧૩પણ, ભાઈઓ, ઊંઘી ગયેલા વિષે તમે અજાણ રહો એવી અમારી ઇચ્છા નથી, કે જેથી બીજા જેઓને આશા નથી તેઓની માફક તમે દુ: ખી ન થાઓ.

14 For if we beleeue that Iesus is dead, and is risen, euen so them which sleepe in Iesus, will God bring with him.

૧૪જો આપણે વિશ્વાસ કરીએ છીએ કે, ઈસુ મરણ પામ્યા અને પાછા સજીવન થયા, તો તે જ પ્રમાણે ઈસુમાં જેઓ ઊંઘી ગયા છે તેઓને પણ ઈશ્વર તેમની સાથે લાવશે.

15 For this say we vnto you by the worde of the Lord, that we which liue, and are remayning in the comming of the Lord, shall not preuent them which sleepe.

૧૫કેમ કે પ્રભુના વચન દ્વારા અમે તમને કહીએ છીએ કે, પ્રભુના આવવાના સમયે આપણામાંના જેઓ જીવતાં રહેનારાં છે તેઓ ઊંઘેલાઓની અગાઉ જનારા નથી જ.

16 For the Lord himselfe shall descende from heauen with a shoute, and with the voyce of the Archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

૧૬કેમ કે પ્રભુ પોતે ગર્જના, પ્રમુખ દૂતની વાણી, તથા ઈશ્વરના રણશિંગડાના અવાજ સહિત સ્વર્ગમાંથી ઊતરશે; અને ખ્રિસ્તમાં જેઓ મૃત્યુ પામેલાં છે તેઓ પ્રથમ ઉત્થાન પામશે.

17 Then shall we which liue and remaine, be caught vp with them also in the clouds, to meete the Lord in the ayre: and so shall we euer be with the Lord.

૧૭પછી આપણે જેઓ જીવતાં રહેનારાં છીએ તેઓ આકાશમાં પ્રભુને મળવા સારુ તેઓની સાથે વાદળોમાં ખેંચાઈ જઈશું અને એમ સદા પ્રભુની સાથે રહીશું.

18 Wherefore, comfort your selues one another with these wordes.

૧૮તેથી એ વચનોથી એકબીજાને ઉત્તેજન આપો.
