1 Samuel 28
1 Nowe at that time the Philistims assembled their bandes and armie to fight with Israel: therfore Achish said to Dauid, Be sure, thou shalt go out with me to the battel, thou, and thy men.
Und es geschah in jenen Tagen, da versammelten die Philister ihre Heere zum Kriege, um wider Israel zu streiten. Und Achis sprach zu David: Wisse bestimmt, daß du mit mir ins Lager ausziehen sollst, du und deine Männer.
2 And Dauid said to Achish, Surely thou shalt knowe, what thy seruant can doe. And Achish sayde to Dauid, Surely I will make thee keeper of mine head for euer.
Und David sprach zu Achis: So sollst du denn auch erfahren, was dein Knecht tun wird. Und Achis sprach zu David: So will ich dich denn zum Hüter meines Hauptes setzen alle Tage.
3 (Samuel was then dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah his owne citie: and Saul had put away the sorcerers, and the soothsayers out of the land)
[Samuel aber war gestorben, und ganz Israel hatte um ihn geklagt und ihn zu Rama, in seiner Stadt, begraben. Und Saul hatte die Totenbeschwörer und die Wahrsager aus dem Lande weggeschafft.]
4 Then the Philistims assembled themselues, and came, and pitched in Shunem: and Saul assembled all Israel, and they pitched in Gilboa.
Und die Philister versammelten sich, und sie kamen und lagerten sich zu Sunem. Und Saul versammelte ganz Israel, und sie lagerten sich auf dem Gilboa.
5 And when Saul saw the hoste of the Philistims, he was afraid, and his heart was sore astonied.
Und als Saul das Heer der Philister sah, fürchtete er sich, und sein Herz zitterte sehr.
6 Therefore Saul asked counsel of the Lord, and the Lord answered him not, neither by dreames, nor by Vrim, nor yet by Prophets.
Und Saul befragte Jehova; aber Jehova antwortete ihm nicht, weder durch Träume, noch durch die Urim, noch durch die Propheten.
7 Then saide Saul vnto his seruants, Seeke me a woman that hath a familiar spirite, that I may goe to her, and aske of her. And his seruants said to him, Beholde, there is a woman at En-dor that hath a familiar spirit.
Da sprach Saul zu seinen Knechten: Suchet mir ein Weib, das einen Totenbeschwörergeist hat, damit ich zu ihr gehe und sie befrage. Und seine Knechte sprachen zu ihm: Siehe, zu Endor ist ein Weib, das einen Totenbeschwörergeist hat.
8 Then Saul changed him selfe, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he saide, I pray thee, coniecture vnto me by the familiar spirite, and bring me him vp whome I shall name vnto thee.
Und Saul verstellte sich und zog andere Kleider an, und ging hin, er und zwei Männer mit ihm, und sie kamen zu dem Weibe bei der Nacht; und er sprach: Wahrsage mir doch durch den Totenbeschwörergeist und bringe mir herauf, wen ich dir sagen werde.
9 And the woman saide vnto him, Beholde, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath destroyed the sorcerers, and the southsayers out of the land: wherefore then seekest thou to take me in a snare to cause me to die?
Aber das Weib sprach zu ihm: Siehe, du weißt ja, was Saul getan hat, daß er die Totenbeschwörer und die Wahrsager aus dem Lande ausgerottet hat; und warum legst du meiner Seele eine Schlinge, um mich zu töten?
10 And Saul sware to her by the Lord, saying, As the Lord liueth, no harme shall come to thee for this thing.
Und Saul schwur ihr bei Jehova und sprach: So wahr Jehova lebt, wenn dich eine Schuld [O. Strafe] treffen soll wegen dieser Sache!
11 Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring vp vnto thee? And he answered, Bring me vp Samuel.
Da sprach das Weib: Wen soll ich dir heraufbringen? Und er sprach: Bringe mir Samuel herauf.
12 And when the woman sawe Samuel, she cryed with a loude voyce, and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceiued me? for thou art Saul.
Und als das Weib Samuel sah, da schrie sie mit lauter Stimme; und das Weib sprach zu Saul und sagte: Warum hast du mich betrogen? du bist ja Saul!
13 And the King said vnto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said vnto Saul, I saw gods ascending vp out of the earth.
Und der König sprach zu ihr: Fürchte dich nicht! doch was siehst du? Und das Weib sprach zu Saul: Ich sehe einen Gott aus der Erde heraufsteigen.
14 Then he said vnto her, What facion is hee of? And she answered, An olde man commeth vp lapped in a mantel: and Saul knewe that it was Samuel, and he enclined his face to the grounde, and bowed him selfe.
Und er sprach zu ihr: Wie ist seine Gestalt? Und sie sprach: Ein alter Mann steigt herauf, und er ist in ein Oberkleid gehüllt. Da erkannte Saul, daß es Samuel war, und er neigte sich, das Antlitz zur Erde, und beugte sich nieder.
15 And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me vp? Then Saul answered, I am in great distresse: for the Philistims make warre against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by Prophetes, neither by dreames: therefore I haue called thee, that thou mayest tell me, what I shall doe.
Und Samuel sprach zu Saul: Warum hast du mich beunruhigt, mich heraufkommen zu lassen? Und Saul sprach: Ich bin in großer Not; denn die Philister streiten wider mich, und Gott ist von mir gewichen und antwortet mir nicht mehr, weder durch die Propheten, noch durch Träume; da ließ ich dich rufen, damit du mir kundtuest, was ich tun soll.
16 Then said Samuel, Wherefore then doest thou aske of me, seeing the Lord is gone from thee, and is thine enemie?
Und Samuel sprach: Warum doch fragst du mich, da Jehova von dir gewichen und dein Feind geworden ist?
17 Euen the Lord hath done to him, as hee spake by mine hande: for the Lord will rent the kingdome out of thine hande, and giue it thy neighbour Dauid.
Und Jehova hat für sich [O. ihm, d. h. dem David] getan, so wie er durch mich geredet hat; und Jehova hat das Königtum aus deiner Hand gerissen und es deinem Nächsten, dem David, gegeben.
18 Because thou obeyedst not the voyce of the Lord, nor executedst his fierce wrath vpon the Amalekites, therefore hath the Lord done this vnto thee this day.
Weil du der Stimme Jehovas nicht gehorcht und seine Zornglut nicht ausgeführt hast an Amalek, [Vergl. Kap. 15] darum hat Jehova dir dieses heute getan.
19 Moreouer the Lord wil deliuer Israel with thee into the handes of the Philistims: and to morowe shalt thou and thy sonnes be with me, and the Lord shall giue the hoste of Israel into the handes of the Philistims.
Und Jehova wird auch Israel mit dir in die Hand der Philister geben; und morgen wirst du mit deinen Söhnen bei mir sein; auch das Heerlager Israels wird Jehova in die Hand der Philister geben.
20 Then Saul fell streight way all along on the earth, and was sore afraide because of the wordes of Samuel, so that there was no strength in him: for he had eaten no bread all the day nor all the night.
Da fiel Saul plötzlich seiner Länge nach zur Erde, und er fürchtete sich sehr vor den Worten Samuels; auch war keine Kraft in ihm, denn er hatte nichts gegessen den ganzen Tag und die ganze Nacht.
21 Then the woman came vnto Saul, and sawe that he was sore troubled, and said vnto him, See, thine handmaide hath obeyed thy voyce, and I haue put my soule in mine hande, and haue obeyed thy wordes which thou saydest vnto me.
Und das Weib trat zu Saul und sah, daß er sehr bestürzt war; und sie sprach zu ihm: Siehe, deine Magd hat auf deine Stimme gehört, und ich habe mein Leben aufs Spiel gesetzt und deinen Worten gehorcht, die du zu mir geredet hast;
22 Now therefore, I pray thee, hearke thou also vnto ye voyce of thine handmaid, and let me set a morsell of bread before thee, that thou mayest eat and get thee strength, and go on thy iourney.
und nun höre doch auch du auf die Stimme deiner Magd, und laß mich dir einen Bissen Brot vorsetzen, und iß, daß Kraft in dir sei, wenn du deines Weges gehst.
23 But he refused, and said, I will not eate: but his seruants and the woman together compelled him, and he obeyed their voyce: so he arose from the earth, and sate on the bed.
Aber er weigerte sich und sprach: Ich will nicht essen. Da drangen seine Knechte und auch das Weib in ihn; und er hörte auf ihre Stimme und stand von der Erde auf und setzte sich auf das Bett. [O. Polster]
24 Nowe the woman had a fat calfe in the house, and she hasted, and killed it, and tooke floure and kneaded it, and baked of it vnleauened bread.
Und das Weib hatte ein gemästetes Kalb im Hause; und sie eilte und schlachtete es; und sie nahm Mehl und knetete es und backte daraus ungesäuerte Kuchen.
25 Then she brought them before Saul, and before his seruants: and when they had eaten, they stoode, and went away the same night.
Und sie brachte es herzu vor Saul und vor seine Knechte, und sie aßen. Und sie machten sich auf und gingen fort in selbiger Nacht.
